Text
Oliver Theyskens collections all have an overwhelming sense of history intertwined into his art. Starting school at École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Visuels de la Cambre and dropping out after 2 years, his first works were not for sale. in 2002, after discontinuing his own label, Rochas recruited him. in 2006 he became creative director for Nina Ricci. After some time working with Theory in America he returned to Paris to create under his own label again in 2014. Finally, in 2020 he became creative director for Azzaro. Olivier Theyskens’ predilection for lace interweaves itself throughout his collections. In his early silhouettes, he integrated vintage fragments of lace that his grandmother had collected for him.
