(Nightmare....)
The world was spinning, her head pounding and her eyes constantly weeping as darkness held her like she was nothing but a Polly pocket. Lights were blurring around her as the world shock with the rhythm of some distant marching, or maybe a distant giant heart?
Adella held onto her arms, trembling as her legs had long since given up, leaving her stranded in the palm of darkness. Her only sense of relief was being able to look up toward the large moon above, turned a crimson glow by all the smoke in the air. Screams sang around her, but so did a laugh that shook the glass and her bones as if they were one and the same. The fire below lite up streets and homes, but all it really showed was the panic manifesting.
But hope was doing the same as well, brilliant shouts of orders unknown words but the tone she understood. Fearful, but doing everything they can despite that fear.
If only she could relate…
“READY MEN!?” She blinks, looking toward what she heard as the darkness did the same with its orange and green eyes that shrunk in panic. Adella could only blink and let out a whimper as the cannons were raised up.
“AIM!” He tried to turn and run, but his shoulders kept getting stuck in the human constructions, but he could move his hand up to cover her-
“FIRE!!”
The sound of cracking and wind fill her vision, the world blurring as she moved downward, faster and faster and faster.
The ground getting closer, and closer, closer closer CLOS-
Adella sat up and shrieked, tears racing down her face and a hand clutching the grass around her. As she looked around, she slowly got her breathing under control as Puppetmon raced to her side and multiple others, both Digimon and human, stared at her.
“Ya know, can’t blame you for having a nightmare after all of that.” The puppet chuckled, patting her shoulder, and pointing at a fire where meats, bananas and carrots cooked. “We got food, are you hungry?”
“…. Y…. Yeah.” Adella whispered, looking at the humans as she dried away her tears.

(Battle against a…. Rookie?)
As the silence between the groups set in, suddenly a distant scream echoes somewhere in the forest, followed by a minute of silence only to be shattered by a Terrifying shriek erupts and by the sounds of it, it's getting closer.
And a Digimon just raced out of a bush with a look of "OHHHH NO"
Still holding onto her anger, Sabrina looked to where the other Digimon were running from. Something definitely didn’t feel right, and she probably should walk away before she got into a fight with the small plant. She noticed Terriermon had vanished to wherever they had called a home.
“Meramon, you thinking what I’m thinking?” Sabrina was getting ready to run off.
Meramon smiled. “Yeah.”
As Meramon and Sabrina...turned and ran off, Aruraumon just stared in bafflement for a moment.
"Wha-? HEY! Get back here!" She screamed before storming off after them.
"Welp, I guess this is what we're doing now." Neil shrugged as he followed.
The Digimon that was running races past the running groups, and skids next to a cave, setting down- Wait hold up is that a human? A....Very distressed human.
The Digimon then pulled out a hammer and raced toward the demonic shrieking.
"WHAHUH?!!" Elecmon looks after the others, than back towards the shrieks.
Ronald falls put of the tree just as Elecmon moved to investigate the sound, landing safely on top of Elecmon.
"GAH- RONALD BECAREFUL!!" Elecmon scolds before glancing worriedly towards the screams.
Maybe following after Meramon and Sabrina would be a better choice to standing around here and finding out what was making those noises...
When Sabrina reached the screeching, she skids to a stop; Meramon was not far behind her.
In front of her was a massive looking jellyfish thing and the only thought going through her head was a line from her favorite video game ‘big. stupid. jellyfish.’
She snorted to herself but ended up getting spotted.
Thankfully, the "Big. Stupid. jellyfish" seems to busy tossing the Digimon with a hammer into a rock so hard the rock Cracked.
"ShE iS mInE!!!" It shrieked but did glance over at her and blinked. It looked around, and attempts to sprint toward the distressed girl, who looked up with fear on her tear-stained face.
“Oh god- “Sabrina gasped, noticing the girl “Meramon! Do something!” She yelled, pointing in that direction.
“Right!” He shouted back, finally seeing the human.
The woman looked around quickly, then glanced at her stick of a weapon. The other Digimon with the hammer looked like they could use a bit of help as well. Gah, she hated thinking under pressure! Hoping that Meramon can stall the bigger guy, she ran over to the puppet.
Aruraumon leapt through the underbrush triumphantly. "HA! Can't outrun me in a fores-!" She couldn't continue speaking, as her jaw dropped, allowing Neil to catch up.
"Okay, this is a situation." He whistled. "Aruraumon? You good?"
"What the heck is Puppetmon doing here!?" She cried.
"Who?"
"He-oh, nevermind! Fight first, think later!" She leapt into the fray before he could stop her.
The Puppet hissed and got up. "A rookie shouldn't be able to hit That hard...Ow-" He finally looked up, blinking in shock. "And there's another human- ADELLA!" He started to try to head toward the mass of Digimon and human girl.
Said girl is currently getting dragged by her legs away from the group of Digimon. "GET UP GET UP GET UP!!!" The jellyfish shrieked- Apparently this guy was making those demonic sounds- as he tried to get the trembling, crying girl to move.
Meramon let off a roar, shooting his hand forward as he leapt into the air shouting “Fire Fist!” Punching the oddly large rookie.
Meanwhile, Sabrina reached Puppetmon. “Hey, Hi, how’s agoing- don’t answer that I can see this is bad-“Sabrina gasped in and out, running used to be her thing, but staying inside for so long made her lose her stamina.
She had taken notice of the hammer, and up close it looked like a revolver chamber with a metal poll attached to it.
“That’s a cool weapon” she gasped out. Then she had a thought, looking at her own. “Hey- wanna help me with a crazy idea?”
"Out of the way, Meramon!" Aruraumon butted into the action. "Nemesis Ivy!" Her thorns lashed out and wrapped around the only thing it could; Keramon's neck, who gasped in frustration and tugged hard. In response, she stuck her legs into the ground like planting roots. The two became locked.
"ToUgH!" Was all Keramon could choke out from the painful grip.
"Thanks!" She responded. Truthfully though, she was having to give it her all. This thing was strong!
After a moment, she willingly uprooted her legs, causing her to fly forward and deliver a powerful headbutt to its soft skull. Whilst the jellyfish recoiled in pain, it managed to twist free from the vines and grab her, slamming her head into the ground.
"DoN't PiCK A fiGhT!"
"Have you MET me!?" She twisted around and wrapped her vines around the tentacles.
"Bug Blas-!" As the plant suplexed it, an explosion was let off inside its mouth, sending the pair of them sprawling, only for them both to instantly recover and glare at one another.
Puppetmon looked at the human, back to the fight. "....Sure! My normal attacks aren't doing anything. What's the plan?"
The Keramon Growled, Glancing over at the human girl for a spilt second before noticing one of it's antenna was on fire and snuffed that out before smirking.
"BUG BLAST!" And proceeds to use that blast on the ground, dust flying up into the air around the battling Digimon, a slippery shadow racing about at surprisely high speeds, for a rookie.
Also "Oddly large" was a good way to describe this rookie, if Meramon and him stood next to each other with their backs straight, he would go up to meramon's shoulders!
“Okay-!” Sabrina quickly clapped her hands together; twirling out her wooden fishing rod, it wasn’t the best craftsmanship, but it was a good thought. The human looked over at Puppetmon for a moment, then at the dust that had risen.
“If bullets don’t work, I’d be surprised if this did.” She knelt down and held out the rod like she was going to throw it, but started talking once again “Rocket my fishing poll at it! It has a sharp tip!”
Puppetmon gave her an odd look, there was definitely no way this was gonna work. “Are you crazy?” He asked
“Yes!” She smiled widely.
“Fair enough.” The Mega shrugged. He lifted up the hammer in a ready motion
“When you have a good look at it, turn your hammer around and let the blast rocket at the nail!” She explained.
Meramon called out to Aruraumon over the dust angrily “look, I know you wanna fight badly, but perhaps focus on the other guy for now!” Meramon tried to find he’s way out of the dust and to the scared human.
"Don't tell me what to do!" She yelled back, taking a deep breath.
"Gloom Dust!" The flower atop her head closed, swelled, and erupted, as the obscuring brown dust was replaced by a sparkling, purple, poisonous dust, which left her unaffected, but Keramon hissing at a stinging sensation flooding over it, and Meramon glaring daggers at the plant whilst poison dust burned up on his body.
"Get back here!" Instantly she was back on the offensive with lashing vines, but this time Keramon flailed its tentacles to counter, the two armies of limbs slapping each other back. Keramon didn't have time for this!
That he didn't, and plus, why would he play with a Rookie?
Keramon, while still hissing, shrieks out a "Bug Blast!" and fires directly toward the plant digimon, bursting just before hitting her lighting up the area like a flashbang, followed by her getting hit back hand with enough force to send her tumbling Out of the cloud.
The jellyfish sends his attention toward the fire and starts to take 3 slashes and then a slammed the fire Digimon out of the fire but didn't get away from it without issue as he also got punched out of the cloud, face scorched slightly.
-
Meramon tumbled out...and landed right before the terrified human. She looked up, tears racing down her face and whole-body trembling. But...
"Are you okay?" Her voice was almost too soft to hear, but he did.
-
Puppetmon smirked. "FIRE!" And the fishing rod speeds forward.
“Ah-“ he chuckled, looking up at the new human “hey there…” he could still feel the poison a bit “I think I’m okay.”
Sabrina braced herself as she felt the boom throughout her body. Her ears rang and the splintering of her wooden weapon shot forth like shotgun pellets. Very sharp pellets. That same shrieking sounded off after the show.
Dropping her hand, she unclamped her teeth as she held her head. “Gaah! Why did I think that was a good idea?!”
Puppetmon laughed at her, smacking her back playfully. “But we got him!”
“What!?” Sabrina yelled through the ringing in her ears.
The Keramon was making a sound Akin to A metal fork in an active garbage disposal and that volume was up to the volume of a rock concert. He had floated away from the cloud, holding one of his eyes and glitching like someone had put a high-power magnet against a tv- all but one part of him. there was something around his neck, but they didn't get to see more than a glimpse of it before he ran.
When I say ran, I mean "Blink and he's Gone" kind of ran.
Adella was holding her ears, but looked at Meramon with a kind smile even though everything was starting to go black...
Aruraumon snarled as she leapt back to her feet. "Cheap shot! When I get my vines on that-!"
"Too late." Neil stated, walking over to her, and taking his hands off of his ears. "Looks like whatever it was, it's gone."
She blinked at that. Then positively seethed. "No fair. Coward." She pouted.
Meramon watched the new human black out. He caught her before she hit her head on anything and gently laid her out. Poor thing.
Puppetmon, after looking over the humans and shrugging, came racing over. "Oh no oh no did she get hit? I swear if she got poisoned by that rookie, I'll-!" He closed his eyes and took fives seconds to take a deep breath. "No, No, no kicking the butt of rookie Digimon, not right now." And comes over to look at the human with worry
Said human was starting to become red, breathing slightly heavy and still shaking slightly.
“What-? What happened?” Sabrina slowly caught up. She noticed the state the two were in “oh gosh…”
"I think she's just a bit....Since I met her she's eaten Nothing, drank Nothing, and has ran for her life once and now got kidnapped. And I know this," He gestured toward everything. "Would make ME pass."
Puppetmon sighed. "Listen, I don't understand Human biology! I just know this is a lot of stress."
“I’m no doctor, but the only we can probably do is let her rest… and have food ready when she wakes.” Sabrina sat next to Meramon worried “bud, you were great!”
“Guah, I didn’t do much- just threw a punch.” He waved her off “that angry little plant did most of the work” he then started dozing off “I think I might need… some rest too.”
“Meramon…?” Sabrina questioned, but he was out.
"Think he got hit with the poison cloud, but don't worry. Fire Digimon go through poison really fast, he just needs a nap." Puppetmon sighed, sitting next to Sabrina. "Name's Puppetmon, Um.....Sorry, for leading him to you guys."
"...The girl who is currently passed out is Adella." He adds on quickly, looking around a bit.
“Sabrina;” she referred to herself “nice to meet you, there are more of us… but they all seem to be out of the way at the moment…” she didn’t want to admit she actually ran at it instead of them being led.

(FoUnD YoU!!!)
Adella hummed, walking next to Puppetmon, and looking around the forest. “So… You’re a Digimon?”
“Yes.”
“And Dark masters used to control this world but got defeated by chosen heroes?”
“Yuuup.”
“So, you saw the light and are now on the path of good?”
“More or less, mainly I just don’t wanna go through that mess again.” Puppetmon shrugged. “I got a house, some kinda friends and most of the time things don’t mess with me.”
“Life is good.” Adella smiled and sighed. “That’s nice…. So, we are sure I’m not some chosen hero?”
“You didn’t have a digivice or have a Digimon rush to your side instantly, so I’m going to say it’s a very small chance. Like, 5% kinda deal.” Puppetmon hummed, spinning his hammer about in his hand and glancing up at the human. “Which makes the fact you’re here Weird. Humans don’t really exist here naturally. What did you saw again? You thought you got dragged in?”
“I know I got dragged in, my arm still hurts from whatever it was.” Adella rubbed her left arm, wincing a little. “I haven’t checked it yet, but the bruise is likely massive.”
Puppetmon just hummed, spinning his hammer faster. He knows that human items and buildings end up getting dragged into the digital world sometimes, but a human themselves? There has to be some kind of game at play here. Those thought get dulled out as Adella moves forward slightly and makes an excited sound.
“Puppetmon, look!” Adella kneeled next to something.
“What is it?” He comes over, and blinks at what she’s holding. “Oh, it’s a…. flower?” He squinted a bit.
It was certainly big enough to fit in the forest, it was almost the size of Adella’s torso, but he’s never seen a flower like this here. It was a vibrate pink, like burn your eyes kind of pink, and teal. It was very out of place and the more he’s thinking of it, the more he knows for a fact he’s never seen a flower like this before.
“It’s so pretty! I’ve always loved flowers, my mom has a garden- “Adella looks up, and Puppetmon saw her expression turn to terror. And then the world is filled with screams as something swatted Puppetmon away and wrapped an arm around Adella, lifting her up like she was nothing more than a sack of potatoes and racing away from the now fuming mega Digimon.
The forest blurred with how fast her kidnapper was moving, and as she frantically tried to claw herself out of its arms, Adella did the only logical thing she could think of. She never took a sport in school, she wasn’t physically strong, but she did choir; and she was a lead singer.
She shrieked at the top of her lungs, eyes closed and nails digging into the arms holding her. She screamed until her lungs were starting to hiss at lack of air, and then they shrieked as she was dropped onto the ground hard enough that she had to stop screaming. As she sat there coughing and trying to regain air in her lungs, she opened her teary eyes and looked up.
She gasped, and one of her eyes went from weepy to full out crying as she saw the Digimon, it has to be a Digimon, that grabbed her.
“JeEz, It’S gOoD tO sEe YoU tOo, BuT dId YoU nEeD tO dEaFeN mE?” The large purple, jellyfish (Or maybe squid?) like Digimon grumbled, rubbing its huge head with massive eyes with equally as large hands. Those hands also had eyes, both of which looking down at her. An orange collar and something almost hidden tucked within it. “A hUg WoUlD hAvE wOrKeD.”
Adella sat in the grass, looking up as tears raced down her face. She wanted to stand up and run, she wanted to scream again, but her muscles had tightened, and her throat was closed up. An aching pain was forming on the left side of her head, and she realized she was trembling when the Digimon looked down at her worried.
“HeY! WhAt’S wRoNg? It’S jUsT lItLlE oLd Me!” It moved down toward her, head tilted and a grin across it’s face. “KeRaMoN? YoUr BeSt FrIeNd?”
A small squeak comes over of Adella as she finally got her legs to move. They only pushed her away slightly, but some moment came as a surprise. Her heart was starting to pound so hard her ribs were hurting, or maybe that’s from where “Keramon” was holding onto her.
“…YoU’rE sCaRiNg mE, wHat’s WrOnG?” It moved down again, the smile gone and replaced with a worried expression. “SaY SOMETHI-“
“GET AWAY FROM HER!”
Adella blinked and that was enough time to miss it. Keramon was no longer in front of her, instead it was Puppetmon holding a smoking hammer and he looked ready for murder. Another blink, and she was in his arms getting carried away as the most blood chilling shriek is heard behind them.
She hasn’t stopped crying, now she was openly sobbing and trying to curl up. Only one issue, why is she crying at all? She doesn’t know a “Keramon”, so why did seeing him make her into such a mess?

(A gathering like no other)
Rustling had grabbed Sabrina's attention, halting her playful bickering with Meramon. Everyone seemed on alert, even Terriermon's ears were perked up. Meramon stood in front of the two as the small rabbit got closer to the human. Despite his small size, the little guy was also ready to throw hands if needed. Talk about being brave.
Something bright red pokes out from a nearby bush, two big eyes peering out at the group curiously. Despite the massive flaming man, any fear Ronald had was overtaken by curiosity.
"Another human!?" Sabrina stated in a surprised whisper. In her earlier panic, she had raised her weapon but then lowered it when seeing the boy. "I- uh... here there bud!"
"It's smaller than you... why is that?" Meramon had quickly asked in a hushed tone.
The red-haired kid stumbles out of the bushes, staring silently and intently at the three, leaves now decorating his head.
"Are you lost, too?" Sabrina asked confused, "My name's Sabrina and this is my friend Meramon." Then she pointed down, "This is Terriermon." The little rabbit waved awkwardly, still holding the basket of food on its head.
The kid waved back but remained quiet, inspecting them from afar. He suddenly pointed at Meramon and stated "You're on fire."
Meramon looked at the boy, he didn't know what to feel, but replied "yeah… I'm on fire. Or really, I am the fire." He then whispered to Sabrina "what's happening right now."
Sabrina shrugged "I was never great with smaller kids." She then cleared her throat "Uhm… if you're wondering, he doesn't set anything on fire- see?" The woman stated, grabbing Meramon's arm and waving it around, the man just gave her an odd look.
"Stop that." He pulled his arm away.
The kid blinked and nodded as if that made complete sense. He then pointed toward Sabrina. "Are you a plant person?"
"Plant…? Oh!" Sabrina chuckled "no, no, I'm just wearing camouflage; before I ended up here, I was doing… work stuff" she scratched at her head. It was still odd how she ended up here… now this kid is here. "My dad has this little place filled with super tall trees!" Sabrina finally stated.
The kid nods once again as if this was all making perfect sense to him. "I fell in a tree."
"You… fell in a tree…? Is that how you got here?" Sabrina asked, the two Digimon looking back and forth at the two.
The kid nods silently.
A rustle further back in the forest can be heard, and a concerned voice shouting "RONALD?! RONALD WHERE ARE YOU?!"
"Wow, that sounds less scary than the ground eating me…" Sabrina whispered to herself, she then had taken notice of the shouting off yonder and probably assumed the boy's name here was Ronald. Was it another human? At least the boy was alone as she thought. "Hey, hello! Over here!"
More rustling is heard, and suddenly a red and purple-colored Digimon leaps out and skids to a halt beside Ronald. "RONALD, there you are! I was so worried-!" The Digimon freezes as he sees Meramon, and instinctively puts a claw in front of Ronald protectively.
Meramon felt insulted, but he didn't show it. He was used to people being scared of him. The boy wasn't, which made him slightly happy. Even if the child was a tad… odd.
"Whoa, hey, whoa! We don't mean any harm!" Sabrina stuck her arms out. "Nothing bad happened here!" She was scared a fight would break out.
The Digimon was about to speak but seemed taken aback by the sight of another human. He looked at Ronald, who seemed unharmed- aaand was already walking toward the new people. The Digimon sighed " Jeez Loise... How can I be sure you won't attack us?" He asked cautiously, glancing almost nervously at Meramon.
"Despite how I look, I'm not an aggressive mon; however that's a completely different story if you provoke the need to fight," Meramon stated, eyes squinting back at the smaller Digimon. "Especially if you try to hurt her."
"Look. From what I've seen for a day and a half, he's a pretty chill guy…" Sabrina then mumbled, "for a guy made of fire." She then cracked her neck a bit "and besides, what kind of an a- er… butt head would want to hurt a child?" she watched the child meander around before turning directions.
The Digimon does his best to stand his ground under Meramon's gaze but nods slowly at Sabrina. "...Alright, I'll take your word for it. But I know first hand how some mon can be, and I won't hesitate to fight back if you try to hurt the kid- RONALD!" Ronald looks over from his perch in a nearby tree. The Digimon sighs, glancing cautiously at Meramon as he slowly moves towards the said tree.
Meramon chuckled, watching the Digimon walk away "seems like you got quite the hand full there with that one."
"Hey… you okay?" Sabrina whispered to Meramon, placing a hand on his upper arm; despite being an adult herself, she was still pretty small.
"I'll be fine." He nodded at her. The two just watched the kid up in the tree.
Then Sabrina realized "ah, wait- I forgot to ask that Digimon for their name!" She then called out "Hey! What's your name! Mine's Sabrina!"
The Digimon grumbled a bit as he watched Ronald in the tree, ready to catch him if he suddenly fell. Looking over a bit surprised he responded "Oh, it's Elecmon! Nice to meet you, Sabrina!"
Sabrina thought for a moment, Elecmon seemed like a nice guy. She feels worried about how much he seems to be struggling to keep an eye on Ronald.
However, the conversation was interrupted by a lashing sound, and Terriermon yelped as several purple vines had extended out and wrapped around the bone of one of the meat plants, ripping it out of the earth and pulling it over to its owner. A small humanoid plant with a violet flower on her head, who looked at all the present humans and Digimon with a hungry gaze. "Hello there," Aruraumon said before she tore half the meat off the bone in a single bite.
"Ah! no! That was was still growing!" Terriermon panicked, but then looked up. Immediately they made a face "oh wait- it's you…"
Sabrina had quickly shifted from the kid in the tree to see what happened on her level. "Now that's a plant person…" she mumbled surprised. "You Digimon are so vastly different, it's amazing..."
Aruraumon paused at that, chewing on the last of the meat before discarding the bone. "So there are other humans around..." She mumbled, almost in embarrassment, before speaking up. "I'm Aruraumon. I'm sure every Digimon here can tell you who I am." She once more looked at the group with folded arms.
"Seriously? Terriermon the farmer and Elecmon the babysitter? You humans couldn't have picked worse." She took notice of Meramon stepping forward though and blinked. "Or are you trying to say you're playing bodyguard, Meramon? You're already a Champion!"
Meramon had nothing to say, he just looked down at the small plant; he had no idea what she was going on about. He doesn't know many Digimon because of how far he lived, Terriermon was the only one he ran into the most.
"Picked…?" Sabrina was confused, "what do you mean by that?" It took her a second to understand that the plant knew about humans off the bat.
"Probably just best to ignore her," The little rabbit said, "Aruraumon always tries to pick fights." Terriermon started backing away "I don't want any trouble…"
Aruraumon rolled her eyes. "Please, you're not even a good warmup. Especially not today." She punched her own 'palm'. "I'm feeling pretty good today... like I could even take on Meramon here! You know why? Because after waiting for so long, I finally found a human of my own!" She puffed her chest up triumphantly. "So now, I'll become stronger than all of you! Soon, nobody will ever be able to mess with me ever a-"
She seemed to stop. Her eyes were bugged out before they turned into a scowl. "NEIL!"
Everybody followed her line of sight to see a young man in a white shirt, purple bottoms, and muffin slippers of all things chewing on an uprooted piece of meat. When he realized all eyes were on him, he raised a hand.
"Yo." He stated.
Aruraumon fumed. "I told you to wait in the foliage!"
"C'mon, Aruraumon. Meat is growing out of the ground!" He said, taking another bite. The Digimon's response was to puff out her cheeks angrily as her face turned cherry red in anger and humiliation.
"Whoah! Okay- as reassuring as me not being the only human here... but just how many are there?" Sabrina lifted her hands in surprise, looking at the human named Neil. "so, aauuh... hey. Name's Sabrina- I feel like I've been introducing myself a lot here..." She greeted, looking around. The woman was half expecting more stuff to happen with how much was already happening.
"Are all humans this odd?" Meramon spoke finally, asking his human friend. He never turned his eyes off Aruraumon after announcing she was gonna try and fight him. Wasn't about to fight a rookie, but he might have to if this one was so adamant about it.
Sabrina turned to look at him "Am I odd?"
"...Kinda. Maybe." Meramon rubbed his neck. His friend started to move toward him, but he just raised his arm for her to stay back.
"Nice to meet ya." Neil wistfully smiled. "I'm Aruraumon's partner. Didn't think there'd be other humans here."
"Yeah, I feel like I got the unlucky draw." She mumbled, but then gained a coy grin looking at Ronald. "Well, I could've gotten the runt of the litter." That caused Elecmon to bristle. "Hey, Meramon, you wanna swap humans?"
"I have no idea what you're talking about, but don't even joke." He groaned, more in annoyance than anything.
That made Aruraumon fume. "Oh, that's how it's gonna be? Then just bring it on! I can take you on now!"
"Um, this guy is literally fire." Neil said, poking Meramon and being amused he wasn't getting burned. "And you're a plant."
"That's what I have you for! Now stand back!" She stepped up, which made Neil nervous.
"Wait- hey! You guys don't have to fight!" Sabrina called out sounding friendly, managing to step ahead of Meramon. He grew nervous at this and attempted to make a move for her. Though, he stopped when he noticed how his human friend was starting to fume.
Ronald stared blankly at Neil and Aruramon from the tree branch, tilting his head as tension built.
As much as Elecmon wanted to take a stand against Aruramon's words, he wasn't sure he wanted to get between two famously strong Digimon- especially not with the humans so close to the potential fight.
He settled for a hard stare at the new Digimon, folding his arms as he stayed near the tree.

Battle and “Bonding”
If there was one concrete thing Neil had learned since falling into the weird ocean, it was that Aruraumon was pretty infamous.
Now willingly following her rather then being dragged, every other weird creature they had passed, from blobs of slime to fuzzballs to giant birds and mushrooms, every one had either cowered in fear at her presence or picked a fight in retaliation, only for her to hit back twice as hard. Speaking of which...
"Lio Claw!" Aruraumon swerved out of the way of a slashing attack from a lion cub wearing a ring around its neck, apparently called Liollmon.
"Predictable." She stated. "Nemesis Ivy!" Her vines then lashed out from her fingertips. The cub tried to get away, but the thorny ropes instantly bound it, causing the creature to growl in pain as it fell helpless to the ground.
"Arrgh! Curse you!" Liollon growled, helpless. "To think you have a human now too!"
"Come for a rematch anytime, Liollmon." Aruraumon stated. "Come on, Neil." He obliged, watching as Liollmon began chewing his way free. The two had left the beach and were now traversing a forest with giant leaves.
"So everything here is a Digimon?" And Neil was using the chance to learn all he could.
"If it's not a human." Aruraumon answered.
"And do you really need to call out your attack names like an anime?"
"It helps."
"Also, why do you need me so much?"
"My turn. Are all humans as annoying as you?"
"Depends."
Aruraumon turned to look up at him. "There's a saying around here. Having a human partner makes you really strong, really quickly. So when I saw you, I knew what you were. Crabmon probably knew too."
"Okay." Neil nodded. "What makes you two different then?"
"Because..." She gained a smug smirk. "I'm your best chance of surviving around here. Crabmon would've been crabsticks in seconds."
"Fair point. Don't think I'll be able to help you, though." He admitted.
"We'll work it out." She huffed, as if assuring herself more then anything. After more walking, the two came to a clearing, and Neil sat himself down. "Good a place as any to stop for a break."
"You're joking, right?" Aruraumon mumbled. "This is the most obvious place for enemies to find us."
"Well, you can just fend anybody off no problem, right?"
"...I mean, you're not wrong." She grumbled, standing alert.
Neil got comfortable. "So, any reason you wanna get stronger using me?"
"It's a Digimon's goal to get stronger." She said. "Simple as that."
He didn't do anything. "Huh. Okay."
Aruraumon raised a non-existent eyebrow. "You're so lax I'm feeling second-hand embarrassment."
"All worrying does is give me grey hair." He said. "Whatever this world is, it's unique and different." He smiled. "And now I have you around to help me."
"Hey! Don't forget your end of the deal!" She shouted. "If you're ever useless to me, I'll throw you back in the ocean myself!"
"Noted."
She gave up at that with an annoyed look. What WAS this human? She was expecting a big-hearted warrior, or a large fighter. Not...scrawny, sleepy idiot. Maybe she should cut her losses and ditch him to die here. She had to conteplate that later though.
"What's up?" Neil had actually whispered that. Had he sensed something too? No, he had just seen the plant Digimon had gotten battle ready again.
"Something's close." She whispered back, getting ready to fight.
"You're happy about that, aren't you?"
"Oh, yeah." She grinned.

(Exploration and heartattacks with Ronald and Elecmon)
"Okay, okay so...- Ronald, right?" Elecmon asked, following closely beside the bright haired kid.
'Ronald' nodded, pausing to slap a rock repeatedly like a drum.
"Just checkin…" Elecmon said, closing his eyes in thought.
Though not much of a talker, he had managed to get Ronald to explain a bit of what happened before they met.
Apparently Ronald had been climbing a tree- only to fall into the tree and end up in even more trees. After that, he wandered about the forest until he met Elecmon.
The fact this kid hadn't ran into any dangerous digimon along the way- especially considering who lived not so far from here- Was astounding, especially since he seemed rather determined to explore every part of the forest around them with little care of whether it was safe or not.
Speaking of which, Ronald was currently trying to climb up a tree with dangerously thin branches, and the one he was standing on looked about to break…
"...OH!! WOAH WOAH!!"  Elecmon rushed over just in time, as the branch snapped and Ronald tumbled down into Elecmon's outstretched claws
"Be careful Ronald!!" Elecmon sighed, setting the child down. "Jeez, hasn't anyone ever taught you to look before you leap?"
Ronald stared at him blankly.
Elecmon stared back in slightly awkward silence, breaking it as he sighed once again.
There was no helping it. The kid was too curious for his own good, and if left alone he could get hurt or worse!! He'd have to take them back to the town until they could find a way to get Ronald back home- wherever that was.
"Let's head back to my town, I'm sure we can figure out a way to get you back-" Elecmon blinked, and realized the bright red hair standing nearby him moments ago- was gone.
"Eh?... EH?!!" Elecmon looked around frantically, scanning the tree branches around him incase Ronald had decided to try climbing the unstable trees again.
Where'd Ronald run off too now?! At this rate, the poor kid was gonna fall off a cliff!!
Taking off into the forest, Elecmon ran, scanning the world around him for Ronald.
Ronald was hard to miss with his brightly colored hair, how did he disappear unnoticed so quickly?!!
Ronald wandered through the forest- which he had mentally dubbed "Tree Forest", as it was inside a tree, or so he thought.
The red and purple bunny guy- Elecmon was his name right? Seemed nice, but Ronald had places to go and odd distant voices in the forest to see.
Said voices sounded closer now too…
Peering through some bushes, Ronald poked his head out a bit, searching the land beyond for the voice's origin.

(The calm before the storm: Sabrina gather's thoughts)
Sabrina barely got any rest, but it was enough. Enough for her mind to go a mile a minute and assess the situation. It was lucky she cane a cross Meramon, but how long cans he trust him? He seems like an alright being but… will he protect her from those… what did he call them? Bakemon?
Those ghosts.
She still thinks this is a dream, but a part of her believes this isn't. Like, perhaps she had eaten something bad and was having a terrible dream? She's had cases where she wakes up only to realize she is still dreaming. Creating an endless loop of trying to get up out of bed.
After a moment, Sabrina slapped herself as hard as she could and had to hold her mouth shut so that she wouldn't make a sound. The human growled out,… that hurt very much.
She noticed how fluently her arms moved about and how easy it was to slap herself… normally it'd take away.
With a sigh, she stood up "it's not a dream. This is happening."
Meramon was still asleep in this little home of a cave. The sun broke through the trees and no sign of her pursuers. She wasn't even sure they came through with her. In all honestly, she hopes they did… Sabrina would rather not have her family deal with them.
This was either going to be incredibly stupid, or beneficial in the long run but Sabrina stretched and walked out of the cave. A couple of pops could be heard from her back, as she looked at the surrounding trees. The only thought going through this human's head was 'what is edible, and what might kill me?'
She wondered around for a second before finding a stream. Looking left and right, she couldn't see anything or anyone that could attack her. Scratching her head and brushing off her digital camouflage hunting clothing, Sabrina reached out into the brush to find a wooden stick; something on the thicker and sturdier side.
Food. She was going to get fish.
She was sure if there were even fish in this stream yet, but she was going to make something she could protect herself with well.
—-—
Meramon woke up, it was suddenly like something didn't seem right. He leaned off of the side to sit upright and glanced around the cave. Sabrina was nowhere to be seen and this put some panic in him. The first person that wasn't afraid of him was probably being hunted, and he was dozing off.
"Sabrina-?" He called out, getting up quickly to look around.
Down on the ground, he could see tracks from the odd footwear the woman had. They left quite the pattern in the dirt. Following them at a steady pace, Meramon sighed in relief that he saw Sabrina sitting at the bank of the stream, two things in hand.
It looked like a rod with a vine wrapped around it. In her other hand was a small little device; that seemed to be grabbing her attention more than the fishing. She shook it close to her ear, testing to see something, then promptly put it back in her many pockets.
"…everything alright over here?" Meramon called out.
This made Sabrina squawk, a noise he had never heard before until now. Meramon guessed he scared her.
"Sorry-" she strolled up to her but refused to get any closer to the water. "You up and vanished, thought something bad happened to ya."
"Ah, yeah… my turn to apologize for that." Sabrina softly smiled at him, "woke up early, couldn't get back to sleep… and I wanted food."
"…you haven't caught anything have you?" He noticed her lips create a thin line, then a forced smile that indicated disappointment in herself.
"If I had my fishing rod from home, and bait, I'd be doing a better job." She held out her wooden stick with a vine tied to it. "I just thought I could do… something with this."
He watched her pull out the rope vine from the water and wrapped it all around the wood.
"It's just an over-glorified spear with vegetation around it." She finished.
"There are other ways to get food around here… come on." He held his hand out to her.
She huffed and grabbed it.
—-—
"What do you mean 'meat grows out of the ground'!? That's- huwa!?" Sabrina cried out, following a little cream and mint-colored rabbit?
Meramon laughed at the human "you make the oddest noise! Hahaha!"
Meramon had a little foraging friend named Terriermon, they had a little basket over their head filled with Digi carrots and powder bananas, they had odd names- but they were good!
"Yeah! I know everything when it comes to making a little farm!" The little guy said, "Meramon and I are a team!"
"He uses me for light, most of the time he's too scared to talk to me." Meramon recovered from his little fit of laughter, staring down at Terriermon. "Notice how the shrimp doesn't talk directly to me."
This made the little rabbit whistle awkwardly, avoiding the fire's gaze.
Sabrina chuckled, "don't worry big guy, you're gonna have to try way harder to scare me."
"Didn't I already scare you?" Meramon smirked at the human.
"I- I was already scared and it was by you!" Sabrina crossed her arms in a pout.
"Suuurre." Meramon drawled out the word.
Terriermon softly smiled to themselves, listening to the two talk back and forth. They seemed like friends already.

(A sign of power, Puppetmon and Adella)
“SO, YOU ANGERED A GIANT SPIDER!?” Adella yelps, ducking her head under a branch and desperately trying to keep up with Puppetmon as said giant spider was shrieking behind them with its hoard of terrifying children
“In my defense, I didn’t mean too!” He yells, taking a quick right to drag her away from the purple web that the giant one shout out. “I said I was sorry!!”
The shrieks of hundreds of voices, most too small to understand, called for their heads and their bodies as payment for some misdeed. Puppetmon just kept dragging her behind him, holding onto her wrist much like how she held his wrist as he hung over that cliff. Her lungs were burning from the sudden running, Adella curses the fact she never took any sports in schools, and her legs were starting to hate her already even though this mad dash has only lasted for 2 minutes at longest.
Puppetmon drags her over a stump and takes a left, he seemed to know where they were going, which is better than Adella who is beyond lost. The forest they were racing through was thick with leaves almost as large as her whole body. She wasn’t the largest person out there, but it was still impressive. It only makes sense that the insects and spiders are larger than a truck! Doesn’t make getting hunted for sport any less terrifying.
“Oh, I hope this works.” Puppetmon huffed quietly, taking a very sharp turn into the hollow remains of a tree…and forces Adella to jump over something as he winks. Adella is placed behind Puppetmon as he pulls out a hammer. That hammer was bigger than her whole body, and yet Puppetmon was holding it like it was made out of paper and play foam. It looked like it had holes in it, large enough she could put her fist in all of them and seemed to be metal.
The spiders start to approach, laughing in evil voices and dripping with poison. “No where to run, wood rotten data!” The biggest growled in a chuckle, eyes glaring down and taking massive steps forward. “You will sustain us for weeks, or maybe become a present for our Queen.”
“Oh please, like I would let that happen you creep” Puppetmon growled, but Adella notices a smirk crawling up his wooden face.
And that’s where she noticed the light system and party cannons set up above them, pointing down at the Spiders- and the largest of them all just stepped on a cable on the floor. Puppetmon spun around and dragged Adella down, covering her head and ears.
Screams fill the air as flashes and loud POPS echo throughout the tree, the sounds of cracking following soon after- and Puppetmon lets go of her and twirled around fast enough Adella barely blinked, and he was swinging that hammer and hitting the giant spider hard enough she heard the cracking of exoskeleton.
“Bye Dokugumon!!!” Adella watches as the monster that was just chasing them, the spider that was clearly about to win, crack like glass. Like someone had dropped a glass plate onto a concrete surface, the shattered bits of the spider vanishing into the air and the hoard of children raced away, tiny voices screaming in fear. “THAT’S WHAT YOU GET FOR CHALLENGING A MEGA CLASS EX-DARK MASTER DIGIMON!!!”
He was laughing loudly, and turns around toward Adella, swinging that hammer over his shoulder so fast she could feel the force behind it by the sound alone. “Well, that’s taking care of! So, what you are thinking of human?”
“……. What’s a dark master?” She tilts her head, holding onto her jacket like it would keep her safe.
“Oh boy, you might want to sit down, this is going to be a LOOOOONG story.” Puppetmon huffed, sitting down next to the tree opening and patting the spot next to him.

('My Digimon Partner Can't Be This Mean!')
Neil floated on the surface of the water. The question was WHY was he in water? One minute, he was in his room, next he fell into water, then he was standing, because the water only went up to his waist.
Now he was staring up at a familiar, yet unfamiliar sky. The clouds looked off somehow, and he swore he could see stars far off. Yeah, sure, he was here now, wherever he was. Why not. Actually, where exactly was here?
He stood up in the water and looked. He was on a beach of all places. Was this Heaven? A beach wasn't his Heaven. Hell, then? He walked out of the water and took off his now soaking slippers to try and fail to wring them out. So he was on a beach now, that was a thing. Certainly beat whatever his plans for the day would have been. The reason, though? No idea.
"A human?"
Neil blinked. There was now a grey crab with a giant pincer in front of him. Talking to him. A giant crab was talking to him.
"Guilty as charged." He answered casually. "You're a talking crab."
"Huh?" The crab responded. "I'm not a crab. I'm a Digimon!"
"Digimon? Okay." Neil didn't question it. "Do you have a name?"
"Crabmon." There was a pause. "What's with that look?"
"Nothing. Do you know what I'm doing on a beach?"
"I don't know. You just fell from the sky into the water." Crabmon scratched his chin with his giant claw. "Humans aren't common around here..." He then perked up. "If you'd like, I could show you around."
"Sure, thanks." Neil nodded, this talking Digimon crab was being very helpful, as they shook hand and claw.
As they made to set off though, Crabmon froze.
"What's up?" Neil asked.
Crabmon stiffened up. "Oh no...it's HER." Suddenly the sand in front of them erupted, as something fell in front of them. As it cleared, it revealed a green body with stumpy legs, purple thorns acting as fingers, and a violet flower blooming on its head of black, sharpened eyes and a frowning mouth with sharp teeth peeking out.
"Aruraumon!" Crabmon shrieked.
The plant monster set a nasty look on the Digimon. "Crabmon." She spoke in a sharp, feminine voice. "Step away from the human, and you don't have to get hurt."
Crabmon visibly flinched, but then its gaze hardened. "You can't scare me, now! I'll become stronger then you and-!"
Before he could finish, Aruraumon's thorny fingers lashed out into vines that instantly bound him, including his claw.
"...Please don't." He begged.
"No." She then tossed him up high into the air, before slamming him down into the ground, burying him up to his back legs in the sand. Then she turned to Neil.
The two didn't say anything for a moment. Neil just stared in mild bafflement as she walked up to him, eying him from head to toe.
"You're a human?" She crossed her arms in disappointment. "I thought you'd be...more impressive."
"Sorry, I'm definitely not that." Neil couldn't help but chuckle at that, unfazed by Crabmon's easy defeat.
"Whatever." Aruraumon sighed, as she wrapped her vines around his wrist, and began pulling him along the beach like a dog on a leash. "You're coming with me, human."
"Right-o." Neil wasn't gonna argue with her. "I'm Neil by the way."
"Aruraumon." She responded, looking back at him. "Your new partner."

Ronald makes a friend.
The sun rose over the horizon, the ramshackle rebuilt daycare town. Though there where still several buildings that needed rebuilt, but it was coming along!!
Elecmon had left to grab breakfast, waiting by the river for any fish to swim by, though he was further out than he felt comfortable. The river just didn't seem to have as much fish as usual...
But he was determined to come back with enough fish for everyone!!
Focusing wholely on the river, he readied an electric attack, and tensed.
Silence filled the air- other than the gentle babble of the river in front of him...
Suddenly, a noise erupted out of nowhere, Elecmon launching an attack at the water, looking around for the fish.
"...Whauh?!"  He blinked in confusion as he realized there was nothing in the water.
Looking around, he realized the noise was coming from the nearby bushes.
"Who's there?!"
He slowly approached the bushes, ready for a fight but also curious.
"I'm warning you, I'm not afraid to fight!!"
A bright red haired head popped out of the bushes, two large eyes blinking and staring silently directly at Elecmon.
"WAH!!" He stepped back in alarm, as he started at the odd...Human?!!
The child stepped out of the bushes as Elecmon stared in confusion.
The child stared back at him, blinking a few times but not speaking.
Elecmon hesitated, calming his nerves as he searched for an explanation on where a human could have come from.
A kid nonetheless- oh data the poor kid must be terrified...
"Uh...Hi!! Sorry if I scared you...Names Elecmon!!"  Elecmon extended a claw towards the kid.
The kid stared at his claw, than back at Elecmon.
Elecmon was about to speak again, ask where they came from, when the kid suddenly pointed at his hand.
"You got forks on your fingers." The kid stated, Elecmon blinking in suprise.
"What- OH no, these are claws!! See, I use them to protect people and fight!" Elecmon he flexes his claws and strikes a pose, than relaxes. "If ya don't mind me asking you a question- Where did you come from?!"
The kid pointed at a nearby tree "Wood."
"WOAH WOAH WOAH!!!" Elecmon rushed over as the kid tripped on a stone halfway through the river. Grabbing them by the scruff of their shirt, he carefully pulled them to safety and sighed.
"Okay, so mind explaining what happened to you before...Wood?"

(Adella makes a digital friend)
He had walked directly into a nest of Kodokugumon Child Digimon because he got lost, just Lovely. Just perfect! Normally he would be able to take these low-level runts, but the issue is that the nest had a protector.
“GET BACK HERE YOU WORTHLESS PEST!” Shrieked the charging Dokugumon that was only Barely missing its poisonous web attacks and stomps of anger. For once he could thank his small size for something.
“YOU’LL HAVE TO CATCH ME YOU OVERSIZED INSECT!” He yelled over his shoulder, hopping away from more webs, and sticking his tongue out at the insect which growled. “I left the nest anyway!!”
“Your data will sustain us for weeks!” The spider Digimon growls, charging and knocking over the tree that he barely managed to hop off of in time. Man, he is rusty when it comes to this part of fights, he needs to practice this…
“Whatever you say, Webs for breath-“He had turned to mock the spider again, and boy, did he Regret it. The Dokugumon slammed into the tree, sending both it and him tumbling down. Apparently, there was a Hill right there behind the tree he was in, that was new information to him.
Spinning, grass ripped up as both the Digimon and the tree spun its way down and down and down. Only when he opened his eyes did he notice the wonderful view and the cliff he was getting spun toward. Today really isn’t his day, is it?
He shifted to get away from the tree, and almost got away as the tumbling tree Must have hit a rock cause they both went flying. It wasn’t until this time did, he realize he has been screaming the whole time and boy did he scream louder as he was flying into the air and falling down, down, toward the dark reach of the forest and cliff-
Something grabbed onto his wrist, causing him to crash into the wall enough his gears moved around his chest and for him to cough.
“Owwww….Good to know even a spider has some-“ The rest of his words vanish in his throat as he looks up. Looking down at him, holding onto his wrist so hard that their knuckles are turning white, was a human. A human girl, with pink hair and teal eyes who looked so worried. “……Hi….”
“Hi.” The human said, gasping for air and tightening her grip on his wrist. “Don’t look down. I’m going to pull back you up, okay?”
“…. Okay.” He reaches up to grab her other hand, slipping a bit as he struggles up, but he manages to get up, on his knees best to the human girl.
“…….Hi.” The human looks at him after a minute of silence. “You alright?”
“…. Yeah, I’ve been through worst, even if I would have fell.” He shrugs and waves a hand at her. “…You alright?”
“Um…. A bit out of breath and confused, but…yes.” The human gave a small smile. “…. I’m Adella, you?”
“Puppetmon-“A distant roar fills the air. “And…we might want to get away from the cliff.”

(Digital Friend: wake up Sabrina)
Groaning and slightly swaying, the woman felt a couple of pokes on her face as she tried to open her eyes.
"So… you are alive…" she heard someone speak, "with how still you were, I thought you were dead. But considering you haven't turned into data yet-"
The woman screamed.
In turn, that made the person before her scream as well; A being that was made out of pure fire and shaped like a large man. The lady's sudden scream made the man lose balance and fall backward- he shouldn't have been in her face like that, but then again he wasn't expecting her to just… scream.
"Where am I!? What are you!?" The lady yelled and groaned in pain again. She held her head in her hands as she realized she was still hanging upside down. "How did I get into this mess-?"
The man, finally out of his shock, sat up and watched the woman try to free herself. She wasn't making much progress, she didn't seem to have the body strength to pull herself up and untie the vine that was holding her captive.
after a bit, he couldn't bear to watch anymore "…you need help with that?" The gruff voice pulled the woman's mind back down.
She thought for a second… he wasn't trying to kill her. Would have done so already seeing as how… helpless she was at the moment.
With a sigh, she nodded her head "please… I think I have too much blood rushing to my head."
Standing up, the man that was made of fire pointed a finger at the vine. In an instant, an ember flew out like a bullet and eventually snapped the vine. Once it did, he quickly scrambled to catch the falling woman. When she was falling the lady snapped her eyes shut; bracing for pain. Though it never came and she eventually opened her eyes to a stitched up half-smile.
Everything was just so wild... like a dream. How had she not combusted yet? It felt like a sun-ray was holding her.
"I- uh... thank you?" She said, but it almost sounded like a question. Her head was still throbbing from being upside-down
"No thanks needed... probably should have gotten you down sooner." He huffed, placing her down. "Sorry about that."
The lady looked at the man for a moment longer, then eventually raised her hand to him "my name's Sabrina; you didn't need to apologize, you're not the one who stuck me up there."
"Meramon." He grabbed her hand, and the two shook.
Sabrina giggled, she couldn't believe it. She was shaking hands with fire. This has to be a dream. A very realistic and painful dream but then she remembered… Sabrina was being chased... and she fell- That's how she ended up here!
Letting go of Meramon's hand, she quickly glanced around. She could still very well be hunted. With Meramon's light that he generated, it was easier to see in the dark woods. It seems like some time had passed since falling, she hated being out in the woods at night.
"Everything okay?" He seemed to be on guard now, reacting to Sabrina's panicked state.
"Maybe… I'm not sure. While ago I was being chased before I fell." She looked up, not seeing any cliffs near this area.
"Come on then, I'll keep you safe." The man motioned for her to follow him. Seeing as he was way nicer than the ghosts, as much as she shouldn't follow anyone anyways, Sabrina traveled with him. "Any idea who was chasing you?"
Sabrina looked around the areas as they moved. The forest was green in color but also purple like it was some sort of Halloween décor. Spiked roots and webs, lingered here and there with no inhabitants. "They… there were five of them. And they looked like cheap Halloween ghosts at a convenient store."
"I have no idea what Halloween is… nor a convenient story. But I do know of some ghosts… Bakemon. Nasty mons." He sneered, thinking of them "you're lucky you got away. They… eat people they catch."
Sabrina sputtered, "haaauh- that's nice." She replied, straining her voice.
—-—
"It's not much, but it's home." Meramon pointed out. It was a cave carved into a stone wall. "If Bakemons are chasing you, they'll think twice before heading in here with me with you."
"You are oddly nice, for a guy made of fire." Sabrina said, looking at him.
He huffed again "a lot of folks are scared of me because I'm made up of fire." He rubbed his neck "I tend to come off as grumpy or angry half the time too, so that doesn't really help me."
"Meramon…" Sabrina looked up at him.
He just hummed at her, giving her a side look; Sabrina can see why people were scared of him. That look alone can strike fear.
But not to her "thank you." She smiled.

(Character introduction: Enter Ronald)
A small red haired boy walks through the forest. The kid couldn't have been any older than 10, yet was rather quiet as he traversed the woods, wacking his surroundings with a large stick, pretending it was a staff. He paused by a rather large tree, beginning to assault it's roots with the stick, as if angered by its height. How dare it be taller than HIM, knight of the woods. An odd buzzing sound caught his ear instantly, the boy looking up to see where it was coming from. It almost seemed to be coming from... the tree? There was a large worn hole in the tree..   Discarding his stick, the child began climbing, his foot slipping every now and than as he scaled the bark. Reaching the hole, he peered inside, an odd glitchy light flickering inside. Curiosity immedietly peaked, he began climbing into the hole, peering over to get a better look. His foot once again slipped as he pushed himself up and suddenly he was tumbling forward, into a glowing light, open sky- and than into a thicket of leafs and branches.

Click, click, click. Yawn.
Nothing fun on any site. At this point, he was beginning to get bored of being bored. He wondered if he should try joining another online game, but dismissed it almost immediately, too much effort.
Oh, an email. From the company, whatever its name was.
'Dear Neil.
Thank you for showing interest in this position. However, at this point, we will not consider you for-'
Deleted. Not worth reading anymore.
It was beginning to get dark out. Looked like he was settling in for the evening. To do what exactly? He didn't know yet. Actually, maybe he should check his Spam, maybe something-
99+ Spam. That was weird. First one.
HURRY UP!
No sender? Consider his interest peaked. The next one?
HURRY UP!
HURRY UP!
HURRY-
They were all the same. What the heck was this? He couldn't fathom what kind of scam this could be.
All the emails seemed to blur together. Almost turning...green. A green that was getting brighter and brighter.
And suddenly he was falling. And suddenly there was a splash. And suddenly he was wet and cold. And suddenly he was drowning.
Huh.

(Character introduction: Enter Adella)
The cold wind whips at her face as she sits at the cliff, eyes locked up. The moon was so big and bright today, it almost felt like it could move to swallow her if it wanted. The stars could barely be seen due to how bright the moon was, and that made her puff her cheeks.
“Have the clearest skies this side of the state” she sighed and shook her head as she recited this summer’s camp claim to fame. “You’ll see stars for miles on end.”
She pushes herself back, laying on her back and staring upwards. She never wanted to come here, but here she is because her parents had a change of heart about keeping her home this summer. “You need to make some Real friends” was their reason, pretending that the people she befriended online were just bots and creeps. Tears start to fill the corners of her eyes as she stands up and turns back toward the camp below, a faint and flickering fire below.
At least with the green light of the moon, she could see the path-
“Wait, green-?”
A hand clasped over her mouth and grabbed her arm with enough force it felt like it would break and tugged her backwards frantically. Green light blinding her vision of her attacker, but she could feel laugher race down her neck.
“FoUnD YoU!!”
She screamed and started to kick, hairs standing on edge as green light fills her senses. And as she managed to connect her free elbow with whoever this was. She heard their yelp of pain, she must have hit something vital, and felt the grip on her arm loosen. So, she tugged and tugged, until he lost his grip- And whatever ground she once stood on fell away as well.
“nO!” Was the last word she heard as she shut her eyes tight, bracing for impact of ground…
….
…. And she opened them, staring up at a sky without a moon and more stars than she could count. A forest and broken branches from the trees above her surrounded her as her arm sang out in pain. Not broken pain, but it certainly made it hard to sit up.

(Character introduction: Enter Sabrina)
The vast sky started changing hue with the sun going down, and as that happened, the forest grew darker and darker. Almost to the point, one couldn't see past the brush anymore. As thick as it was, a woman ran through it… she was being chased. She couldn't see what it was, it seems to be everywhere yet… nowhere. The worst part was, that there was a high chance it could be more than one.
Laughter echoed, and this only pushed the woman to go faster. She could find her home, she had gotten lost somewhere down the trail and off it. If she's not careful, she could get stuck in the more swampy area of the woods. Being stuck in mud would be even more terrible.
"Can't run, can't run!"
"Why bother? We're going to get you!"
She could hear it… them? Still wasn't sure about that.
Stopping behind a tree for a brief moment to catch her breath, she quickly patted herself down. How could she have lost her machete that was used for chopping down wood?
"There you are…!"
Quickly turning her head, the woman finally saw what was chasing her. She wanted to scream, but her voice just… wouldn't work.
A ghost.
It was a large ghost.
And there were five of them.
Turning around as fast as she could, the woman tried to make a break for it. However, something else seemed to happen; a large rift opened up almost like a large maw trying to devour prey. Her first step made her plummet downwards, and the next she knew… she was falling out of the sky.
Luckily, she didn't fall too far, and the trees seemed to slow her down. But boy did it hurt. Eventually, a vine caught her and hung her upside down. The woman seemed to have passed out.

And when they finally opened their eyes again, there was a world they have never seen before standing before them....
