An Interview With Troy Greene of VÆN & Pure Deathcore
I’m a huge supporter of Pure Deathcore. So when music scene entrepreneur Troy Greene started a band i was immediately converted into a fan. No questions asked. This is one of those rare situations where we can be sure the band is sick just because Troy runs such a sick company and has such clean work ethic. When i finally got a chance to listen to a teaser from his band i was blown away by fast angst driven technical riffage and dark blackened death-grooves. This band is sick. And their front man is a huge contributor to the scene. I just had to get the interview….
Deadly: Thanks for taking some time from your busy schedule to be interviewed by for shdcvlt. Could you please introduce your self to our readers?
Troy: Absolutely man. I’m Troy Greene, owner/creator of Pure Deathcore and vocalist for Death Metal/Deathcore band VÆN.
Deadly: Nice to formally meet you man! Ive been a follower of Pure Deathcore for a minute! And i’m also a fan of your new band. Who are your band mates and what roles do they play in the band?
Troy: That’s awesome to hear man! Yeah I’ve been keeping an eye on your company for a bit. It’s nice to see your page growing! Well as you know, I’m the vocalist. Haha. And our current lineup is: Kevin Migues – Guitar Jazz Murray – Guitar James Shaffer – Guitar Casey McLain – Drums We are currently trying out a bassist, who will go unnamed for now, as we parted ways with ours a month or so ago due to us having such a demanding practice schedule.
Deadly: Good to know you guys are working so hard that mother fuckers cant keep up haha! So how did you guys come together? Where did you meet? How did the idea come about?
Troy: Haha. Exactly! Kevin, Jazz, and myself were actually in a band together when I was 14/15 years old. It was our very first band and we were just awful! Lol. It was a Deathcore band named In Flew Enza and we were all sick but we could not find a drummer who could keep up at all… That’s why we are so thankful to have Casey as our drummer. He is phenomenal! Anyway, the idea for VÆN actually came to me one day while I was in rehab a few years back (I had a rough time getting my shit together when I was younger). But anyway, it was a free 3 month cult-like Southern Baptist Christian rehab where they brainwash you into believing faith in Christ will keep you from a bad path instead of focusing on the problem at hand and working towards recovery. Every morning this guy would yell at us all aggressively condemning us for our “sins”. And during one of his yelling sessions I started writing down the word VAIN over and over. From that moment on I decided that I was going to form a band named VAIN (we changed to VÆN due to the name being taken) and push it to be as successful as I possibly could “in vain” of there psychotic view on life. And after many failed attempts at forming this band with numerous musicians around me I finally settled with the guys I’m with now. We are constantly pushing each other to be better musicians. This is the first band I’ve ever been in where creating music isn’t work… It’s just a natural vibe and the music just flows out of us.
Deadly: That’s the best type of band. Where everybody just clicks. Its fucking magic man. And how gnarly! So many band names these days where thought up by narcissists just trying to be cool or edgy. The backstory behind the name is quite refreshing! And i know a lot of my readers can relate your story. So you have a debut single titled “The Day The Sun Died” I heard your teaser and i’m loving what I’m hearing! When can we expect the single to drop and where can we get a copy?
Troy: We are currently finishing up the last few touches on the single and then we will be sending it off to Buster Douglas Odeholm from Vildhjarta/Humanity’s Last Breath/Impact Studio in Sweden to get it mixed/mastered. So, I’m thinking we should have it ready in about a month from now. We will be premiering it exclusively through the PureDeathcoreTV channel as well as many other websites for purchase/download.
Deadly: Awesome. Ill throw up your links on shdcvlt.com and beatdown.co as well to help out when it drops! So would i be wrong if i thought this single was foreshadowing a possible ep or full length dropping some time this year?
Troy: Your absolutely right! We will be releasing a 6 track EP titled “Perpetual Darkness” Sometime later this year! We just released the official album cover with the teaser as well
Deadly: Ill be dead by the time it drops. The anticipation is going to gut me in my sleep….Merch! I want a VÆN shirt so bad. Can we expect merch to drop soon too!?
Troy: I know right! We are all so excited to show everyone what we’ve been working so hard on. We are working with a few designers and are planning to print some merch shortly before or after our single release!
Deadly: Music dropping! Merch Dropping! I am beyond excited! So what would be your personal dream tour lineup for VÆN? You can bring musicians and broken bands back from the dead if you want.
Troy: Well, my DREAM show would be to play with Tool. Lol. But, as far as a perfect tour with bands that I personally think would work well with our certain style of Blackened Deathcore/Death Metal would be with Cattle Decapitation, Rose Funeral, Molotov Solution, Lorna Shore, Aversions Crown, and A Night In Texas. It’d also be really cool to play a show with System Of A Down and Deftones. We actually play a cover of Molotov Solution’s song Corpus Imperium live!
Deadly: Dope! I love Molotov Solution. I would be sick to see you play that live! Any plans of touring!
Troy: We’ve got a lot of things in the works. Of course it’s all a process of getting everything we need to hit the road… But, we absolutely have been talking to some sick bands about setting up some really amazing tours. I’m not at liberty to discuss all the details yet, just know it’s going to blow some people’s minds straight out the gate! We’ve got some big shows coming up with Bermuda, Demolisher, Unearth, Reflections, Ringworm, etc. We’ve already played with Abiotic for our second show. So, every show we’ve got so far is huge! It’s very humbling seeing the amount of support we’ve received being such a new band.
Deadly: Hell yea, i think there is a lot of sweat, blood, and hard work behind your bands current successes. Just keep pushing forward man! As we wrap this up, is there anything else you would like our readers to know? And thank you so much for your time Troy!
Troy: Just everyone keep your eyes out for VÆN here in 2016! Every bit of support means the absolute world to us. Thanks for having me Brett! Long live shdcvlt!
Deadly: To the readers; I hope you enjoyed this interview. Please show Troy and his band as much support as you can by sharing this interview. If your not following his company on facebook you should be. Here is a list of links to connect you to his network and band. Stay humble guys! https://www.facebook.com/VaenOfficial https://www.facebook.com/PureDeathcoreTV https://www.youtube.com/user/PureDeathcoreTV

Fraser: It has been pretty solid man. Happy so far!
Deadly: Where can my readers support your band and get a download?

Deadly: I just spotted some of your merch in my Band Promotion Facebook Group. These designs are sick man! Who designs your merch?
Fraser: Scotty Bates designed our last run of merch.https://www.facebook.com/AppleBabyArt/
Zeolite by Zeolite
Deadly: Whats your dream tour? What bands active or extinct do you wish you could tour with?
Fraser: So many different bands! Couldn’t possibly pick one. Maybe a big festival with all of them!
Deadly: Haha fair enough. Then who would be the headliners to this epic death fest of madness?
Fraser: Honestly there are so many. And in the band we all have different tastes. But I’d say we’d be pretty happy to play with Meshuggah, After the Burial, Whitechapel, Monuments. Obviously massive bands like Slipknot would be desirable hahahaha
Deadly: And decapitated with Vitek brought back from the dead and Covan pulled out of the coma! We got similar tastes in metal! Do you guys get a lot of support from your hometown or the scene in Australia? Any big tours or shows coming up?
Fraser: In Tassie we are very well supported and we are growing interstate with each visit. We have our EP launch his weekend in Launceston. In March we hit Sydney with our friends Whoretopsy and Hollow World. We also have plans coming together for QLD and more Vic dates. Maybe Canberra too.
Deadly: Im sure some of our readers will end up at your Aussie dates. We have a big following in Australia. Do you think you guys will make it over here to the US for a tour?!
Fraser: Hopefully one day. Once we really build ourselves a strong national presence (hopefully)!
Deadly: Yup! Well to help out with that ive added your free singles to beatdown.co and promoted your new release! I hope it helps! As we wrap this interview up is there anything else you would like our readers to know? And thank you so much for your time!
Fraser: No, thank you! Nothing else much to add. Just hope people check our stuff out and share it about!
Deadly: Check out Zeolite on social media and show our boys from Tasmania some support!

An Interview With Michael Montoya Of Goliath
youtube
Can you introduce yourselves to the readers?
I’m Michael Montoya I play Guitar in Goliath.
How and when did you guys become a band?
It started out as another band called Consider Her Dead. When that band fell apart and broke up Goliath was formed out of some of the members. We just wanted to play heavier more aggressive music. When it started we really didn’t expect people to like it as much as they did. It was crazy to us people cared at all about the music we made.
Vendetta with the World has been out for almost five years, why the huge gap?
It’s been like 3 years haha. We released some singles after that and a cover EP but honestly it’s a few things. For one we kept having vocalist issues. People would come in then decide touring isn’t for them or whatever the case may be. It made recording new music tough. We have so many songs unreleased cause of the 2nd singer issues we have had. Darkest Dawn was tracked around Halloween of 2014 and it just took forever to get everything together to release it. We just had problem after problem that’s why it took over a year to come out. It’s kinda fucked up if you think about it. We will never deal with a process like that again though.
Darkest Dawn has just been released, it’s fantastic what was the writing process?
Thank you!! Basically how writing for us works is I just pre pro everything at my studio show the guys and see if they like it or not. Usually after that our drummer Kevin will come in and tell me the changes he would make on drums. After we have a solid instrumental we will pre pro vocals for the track. With these songs I wanted the vibe to be really dark. Our lyrics have always been more personal so me and Corey (our singer) reached in and talked about stuff that’s hard to talk about. @Recooperated is about one of my childhood best friends killing himself and Down the Drain is about a long relationship Corey had falling apart. Musically I wanted it to have better song structure and catchier hooks. So we wanted it to be darker but also catchier at the same time. We wanted our influence from bands like Behemoth and Dimmu to be more in your face but do it in a more hardcore influenced way. We have always loved mixing metal and hardcore together in different ways. If you think about it all the best bands in heavy music do just that they go together so well! I’ll never understand people against the crossover idea. Just want to say we got Todd from Nails to do guest vocals and I can die happy now.
What are some plans for 2016?
We don’t really have anything honestly our future is very up in the air. We will probably at least release some more music. The process of this EP kinda hurt us a lot to be honest. We put in so much work and everything kinda went wrong haha. The songs are dope and we love them. Having Jordan from XKingX join the band was awesome and he killed it. So I don’t know honestly we all kinda have other things going for us at the moment. We have been a band for about 5 years and it’s been our lives but at this point we haven’t really grown and it kinda seems maybe we have over stayed out welcome. So I don’t know maybe we will just do it for fun or maybe we will call it a day and end on a high note. If we do end it you can expect to hear music coming from most of us though. I can’t speak for the other guys but I’ll make music until I die. We just have to get together and talk about it maybe we will decide fuck it lets keep going for 5 more years haha.
What is your dream tour with you guys on the bill?
For me it would be Slipknot headlining Deftones doing direct support then Behemoth then Issues and finally Nails playing right after us haha. It would never happen but that would be sick!!
Gundam or Evangelion?
I’m honestly not super into anime. I’m more nerdy about stuff like science or Lord of the Rings haha.
Anything else you would like to tell the readers before we go?
Yeah thanks to anyone who cared enough to listen to our EP or who was supported us in any way shape or form. This band has been the best time of our lives and it’s our baby. I would be a lot more miserable of a person if Goliath didn’t give me a reason to be artistic so thank you to those who support that.

An Interview With Bow Before Horus
youtube
Bow Before Horus is:
Austin (Vocals)
Lindsey (Guitar)
KC (Bass)
Brandon (Drums)
Can you introduce yourselves to the readers?
Austin: We are Bow Before Horus, from Grangerland, Texas
How and when did you guys become a band?
Bow Before Horus: Well, about two years ago we started as a different band called “Air Ivory” we weren’t as heavy as we are now. We had a few member changes and we decided to go with a name change and we ended up becoming more of the death metal/deathcore sound you hear now.
When can we expect new music from you guys?
Bow Before Horus: Soon, we just joined up with True Initiative Management and we should have our song “Embodiment of Disorder” released soon through BeheadingTheTraitor, and we are working on our next EP late January.
What bands growing up gave you inspiration to write music?
Bow Before Horus: Lamb of God, Pantera, Suffocation, Decapitated, and Cannibal Corpse
What advice can you give new bands wanting to play shows?
Bow Before Horus: Play as many as you can, terrible or not take the bad shows for all their worth. As you as you start paying your dues that’s when you start getting bigger shows. Work hard and make a lot of sacrifices and you will get somewhere.
What is your dream tour with you guys on the bill?
Bow Before Horus: The Black Dahlia Murder, Suffocation, Thy Art Is Murder and Job For A Cowboy.
Attitude Era or WCW?
Brandon: I don’t know what that is
Austin: Dude! WCW
Lindsey: Attitude Era
Anything else you would like to tell the readers before we go?
Bow Before Horus: Give us weed. Again we are Bow Before Horus from Grangerland, Texas so check us out.

An Interview With Vantablack
Vantablack is: Dustin Avery
Can you introduce yourself to the readers?
Hey, I’m Dustin, the idiot manning this project.
What made you want to start a solo project?
I’ve been bandless for a while now, but I’ve steadily kept writing. I sent a few riffs to a friend of mine, who brought up the idea of bringing it to the studio. I write it here in South Carolina, he records it up in Massachusetts.
What can we expect to hear from Vantablack?
Well, Vantablack is the name given to one of the darkest substances known by man, so dark the eyes can hardly percieve it. I wanted to write the musical equivalent of that in death metal form. Just an in your face, all consuming wall of noise with odd rhythms and riffs galore. Also, since the only thing I didn’t write was the vocals, there are three guest vocalists spread across four songs.
In the near future are you planning on having a full band?
Hopefully! I’m talking to some prospects now and I intend on moving to an area with a much more active music scene in these coming months. Nothing is confirmed right now but I’m definitely working on it.
Do you have a release date for the EP?
If all goes according to plan, late March is what I’m shooting for. You know how the recording process is though, but everything is on track as of right now.
What bands growing up gave you inspiration to write music?
The Fall Of Troy was definitely the band that got me into writing. I’ve veered off from that sort of music these past few years and leaned deep into the metal spectrum, so while you’re going to hear their influence (mostly in the odd timings) the biggest influences on this record would have to be bands like Meshuggah, Hate Eternal, Slayer, Cannibal Corpse, and even bands like Nails.
What is your dream tour with you guys on the bill?
Oh god haha, see the above question. Probably Meshuggah, Hate Eternal, Rings of Saturn, and whatever band I could get together. Probably a couple of ambulances.
Who would win in a fight Megaman or Bomberman?
Yo DEFINITELY Megaman due to all the fuckin’ crazy powers. Bomberman has all the powers of a domestic terrorist.
Anything else you would like to tell the readers before we go?
For sure check out the work of the vocalists that have lent their hand in the recording process. Matt Magnell of From The Makers Of (who is actually the hands in the studio for this, and it was his idea to bring it there) , Tom Cifello of Bottomfed, and Isaiah Hoffinger, (this being his active project, ex-Krokodil). Also, the label it’s being put out on (Super Moon Records) and the bands on it as well.https://www.facebook.com/FTMODGAF/?fref=ts https://www.facebook.com/BottomfedMA/?fref=tshttps://www.facebook.com/supermoonhxc/?fref=ts https://www.facebook.com/KrokodilRI/?fref=ts

Can you introduce yourselves to the readers?
DEVIANT: Matt Stokes – Vocals
Aaron StPierre – Bass
Nick Ortiz – Drums
How and when did you guys become a band?
DEVIANT: We started in 2014, It was our old vocalist Nick Sadler and I (Matt), just an internet project. We ended up writing a full album then Nick departed the band for college and I stepped up as the vocalist.
What is the writing process like for the self-titled?
DEVIANT: Really smooth, the first 5 songs took around a week to write, It was basically just Nick and I bouncing ideas back and forth! We were just having fun and being the band we dreamt of playing in at the time.
The Self-Titled album has been out for a few months is it too early to ask when can we expect new music?
DEVIANT: Not too early at all! We’re working on a full-length now, expect a single off it next year!
I see you guys recently announced a tour to kick off the new year how excited are you guys?
DEVIANT: We’re all really exited! It’s going to be freezing cold though and some of our first times seeing snow. We’ve never done a tour this big, also headlining it so we’re all pumped!

SHDCVLT Interviews Meredith Henderson & Nicho Brewer of Victims
youtube
Victims is: Nicho Brewer, Abraham Regalado, Anthony Williams, John Matalone, Meredith Henderson
Can you introduce yourselves to the readers?
Meredith: Victims consists of Nicho Brewer vocals, Abraham Regalado Guitar, Anthony Williams Guitar, John Matalone Bass, and Meredith Henderson (me) Drums
How and when did you guys become a band?
Meredith: Well Anthony, Abe, Nicho, and I were in a previous project before this one, but we were headed in a different direction musically so we decided to change our name to Victims, technically we became Victims August of 2013, but have been playing music together since 2012. Anthony and I have been playing together in bands since 2009.
Sickness Vol: 1 has been out for a year now what was the writing process like?
Meredith: For Sickness it was written in a divided type of way, we didn’t really know how many songs we were doing what was going on it at the time. So Abstract, Spoken Slander, and Left Behind were all written as singles that eventually ended up on the EP. Most of Sickness was written by Anthony and I, but we all threw in ideas to make it what was Sickness Vol: 1.
Nicho: The writing process was very fun and dark, fun because we got too experiment a little with handling a concept, dark because everything we wrote about was just complete tormented in every way possible.
When can we expect new music from you guys?
Meredith: Well we’ve been working on a new album since December of 2014 and it’s about halfway finished which is set to release Winter of 2016 (not to get anyone confused around early march time)
Nicho: You can expect new music on Nov. 27th of this month! It’s a new catchy song titled “De/tached”.
What advice do you have for new bands wanting to play shows?
Nicho: My advice is don’t expect a big crowd every show, if you have not played in front of 10 people at a show than do not expect the next one to be bigger, and always be sure to promote all day every day and invite your friends and family to shows and as well through social media.
Meredith: The most important thing is to make sure as a whole your sound is tight and no matter how many people are in the room to play your heart out because everyone who watches you is important and you never know how helpful it’ll be in the long run.
You guys went on tour a few months back how did that go?
Meredith: Overall it was a good experience to have under our belt, but we’re not the bad luck crew for nothing. As most touring bands go through we had van issues, shows drop, etc but we stuck it out and did something that we’ve wanted to do for a long time and you have to start somewhere. Also I have to say though Houston has an awesome scene.
Nicho: Yeah the Sickness tour was fucking awesome, we got to grill out in Walmart parking lot with our buds in U.A. and we also got to explore a lot of different states and arrive at sick attractions.
What is your dream tour (any band) with you guys on the bill?
Nicho: My dream tour with us on the bill hmm… probably with Volumes and Slipknot, that would be mine and for the other members in the band I don’t really know, maybe Korn, and Metallica.
Meredith: Hmmm mine would differ a lot then everyone else in the band, but in an unrealistic sense I would DIE if we toured with Korn, Linkin Park, Slipknot, or Deftones and in a more reachable standing it would be cool to tour with Yüth Forever, Barrier, the pals in Zealot, Reflections, Adaliah, or Darke Complex.
Who would win in a fight Leather Face or Jason?
Meredith: Honestly probably Jason I can’t really give you a reason why, but on a related topic Rest in peace Wes Craven he is a horror genius and his films will be carried on for a long time.
Nicho: Jason will always win.
Do you have anything else to say before we go?
Nicho: That you for taking your time to interview Victims, as well as to stay tuned on victims page for our new single as i mentioned up above, and check out our friends in SHDCVLT, officially sponsoring Victims. Have a great day!
Meredith: Just wanted to say thank you to everyone that has supported so far and everyone that was a fan of Sickness Vol: 1, volume two will be even better I can assure you of that.

SHDCVLT INTERVIEWS JAKE WOLF OF REFLECTIONS
youtube
“Reflections” started in 2010 and this band has been a powerhouse ever since with 2014 being a dark year for the band. To say that Wolf had a challenging year would be an insulting understatement. All of the chaos, frustration, anger, confusion, and trauma was funneled into the new album, “The Color Clear”, which is the follow up to 2013’s “Exi(s)t” and was recorded at The Machine Shop with Will Putney.
I recently attended the Texas In July Farewell Tour at the Houston stop, I grabbed Jake before the show kicked off here is what he has to say.
Reflections is:
Jake Wolf
Patrick Somoulay
Francis Xayana
Nick Lona
Can you introduce yourself to the readers?
My name is Jake Wolfe I am the vocalist for Reflections.
How and when did you guys become a band?
We started writing music in July of 2010, we started playing shows around the beginning of 2011 and we released our first release it was in April of 2012. I met Patty through a band that we were in together during high school. Where I played drums and he played guitar. Francis and Patty are actually cousins and we met our drummer Nick through online auditions to fill in for our first tour because our previous drummer Cam didn’t want to go on the tour.
“The Color Clear” is a masterpiece what was the writing process like?
The writing process for “The Color Clear was a lot longer than we really knew a lot of those lyrics are from 2011 I’ve been writing for a really long time, and one of the riffs in the song “Autumnus” is one of first riffs Patty ever wrote. Some of us individually like myself had a really hard time with just everything, pretty much and we were struggling a lot as a band as well. With Charlie and Cam they were making everything difficult and getting rid of that finally allowed us to finally be a band, and Nick actually writing drums instead of me because Cam never wrote anything. It was just a lot more natural and then getting to go to Machine Shop with Will Putney was something I’ve always wanted to do, Patty always wanted to do. Nothing but good records come out of there so it was nice being in that environment.
What drives the lyrics of Reflections?
For lyrics, it’s stories about my life, and the things I see and I interpret it and sometimes a message I would like to try and convey to people. Earlier like before The Color Clear everything was really like kinda surface level trying to like appeal to other people and for this album I really thought what I needed to hear and what I needed to get out. It wound up connecting to a lot more people that way. That ultimately is what I want more than anything is to have a connection with people through music.
What is your favorite thing to do when you aren’t on tour? (besides write music)
I like traveling seeing things something scenic getting away from the city.
What is your dream tour with you guys on the bill?
Something like:
Architects
Bring Me The Horizon
Counterparts
Invent, Animate
You know just friends, good bands, with a positive meaning and value.
Anything else you would like to tell the readers before we go?
Personally I’ve been going kind of a rough time and something that has been helping me out is just being involved in music, and listening to music. So I guess on a completely different note turn to music before you turn to anything else when you’re having a bad day.

SHDCVLT Interviews: WRVTH
youtube
WRVTH (formally known as Wrath of Vesuvius) is a five piece technical death metal band Hailing from Manteca, California, Started in 2007 they have been on numerous tours, I recently grabbed the guys in Houston when they were touring with Lord of War here is what they have to say.
WRVTH is:
Marcus (Guitar)
Jeremy (Guitar)
Thomas (Vocals)
Joseph (Drums)
Taylor (Bass)
Can you introduce you guys to the readers?
Thomas: Our name is WRVTH, and we are from Manteca, CA. We have five members- Marcus and Jeremy on guitar, Taylor on bass and backup vocals, Joseph on drums, and I handle vocal duties.
How and when did you guys become a band?
Marcus: We originated in Ceres CA where a few of us actually played football together when we were younger. We went under a few different aliases until we came up with “Wrath of Vesuvius” in about 2007.
Why did you guys change your name?
Marcus: We wanted to signify a sense of departure, not only from the name, but also our sound. We tossed a few different ideas around with the intent of changing the name completely, but compromised with WRVTH to signify that we’re still the same band.
Taylor: The timing was just perfect for the name change too. We were still in the very early stages of our writing process for our newest record when Thomas, our vocalist, joined the band. We wanted to do something new, and that demanded a different kind of vocal delivery, which is exactly what he brought to the table. At that time, we were branching out from what we used to be, and Thomas definitely helped us channel the sound we were going for. Plus, the frontman is somewhat of a figurehead for the band, and if you’ve seen Thomas perform live, you’d realize “WRVTH” is pretty spot on with what his stage presence is all about.
My favorite song off the album is Forlorn how did that song become a song?
Marcus: That song actually was one of the first in this writing process both musically and lyrically. Even from the first stages we knew what we wanted to do with that song and what we wanted to convey. It kind of plays on the perspective of being at your absolute lowest or as if you are homeless and no one wants anything to do with you, thus the title “Forlorn.”
The self-titled has been out for a few months what was the writing process like?
Marcus: It was really unique compared to previous records. We paid a lot of attention to detail and the overall dynamic of everything. Opposed to previous efforts, we had a precise vision for this record and got a chance to elaborate on it. We spent so much time revising and reshaping until we finely molded it to our liking. Preproduction really helped with that aspect.
Taylor: I think it’s worth mentioning that we all had our own input in all aspects of the record as well. For example, say maybe Thomas has a drum part idea, Jeremy or Joseph having a bass line idea, or Marcus and I having lyrical ideas and we take everything we suggest into consideration. We all worked on the album with a collective mindset. No one just handled their own respective parts and called it a day, and I think that’s why this record is so personal to us, musically and lyrically.
Is it too early to ask when can we expect new music from you guys?
Marcus: No definite answer to that one, but we’re already working on new material to say the least.
What bands growing up inspired you to write music?
Thomas: It’s hard to just say a few bands or artists because there’s so many that paved the way for us. All of us were raised on pretty diverse music backgrounds. Everything from funk to hip hop to classic rock and even to even pop.
What is your favorite thing to do off tour?
Marcus: Probably concert going. Whether it be local artists or touring acts, going to shows is what we mainly look forward to.
Is it tough being in a touring band?
Marcus: I mean the experience itself is rewarding enough, but home life is what suffers the most. Struggling to catch up financially when we get back from a tour is tough sometimes. Even relationships are strained through the process. Being away from your loved ones for a long period of time isn’t easy. It hasn’t happened to any of us yet but getting severely injured or losing family members while out there I’m sure is really hard. But despite all of that, we do it because we love it more than anything.
What was the unhealthiest thing you’ve eaten on the road?
Marcus: We can’t even keep track of that because it’s so hard to not eat unhealthy. The most convenient/cheapest thing is fast food junk. Some of us will try to make conscious decisions to get a salad or fruit but eventually we’ll cave and go all out on fast food.
Who would win in a fight Diddy Kong or Yoshi?
Thomas: I think I can speak for everyone, Yoshi without a doubt. Diddy Kong is a lil bitch.
Anything else you would like to tell the readers before we go?
Thomas: First of all, we would like to say thank you to all the people that have supported us in any way. From a simple share on social media, coming out to a show, or purchasing the new record, we are very grateful for any support, and it allows us to continue doing what we love to do. Thank you so much!
Taylor- Also, we’ll be doing a week run with Arkaik in December so come out to a show and hang out with us!
