“ That’s very good, it’s not a trip meeting Anna without a warm hug. That is good, i would not be happy if my face character if all my memories were the teenage boys and weird dads. But still that sucks, does the character attendant do anything, to help you, like move them along? “ She said not really know what happens when stuff like that happens to people what do they do. “I know, i just kept going, and trying to make it enjoyble for the other guest but there wherealot of sour faces on that boat. That is so sad for the baby, babies do tend to cry when they meet the characters and if they are waiting for a long time it’s even worse.” She said thinking about how horrible that must of been for the baby. “ I know, they don’t even remember the trip and end up crying most of the day.”
“The character attendants do what they can,” Diem said. “They’re trained, like all of us, to put the guest experience first, so they can’t say or do anything too harsh, but they try to wrap things up and move on to the next guest as quickly as they can when they sense we aren’t comfortable.” Diem agreed with her about babies at the park. “They’re certainly adorable, but overall I feel like it has to be more of a headache than anything else for the parents. Feeding and changing diapers all day must be just the cherry on top.”

Cameron nodded, “Right I guess that definitely makes sense,” SHe nodded looking over at the girl and shrugged for a moment, “Well at least the dress isn’t that hard to sit and eat in. Imagine sitting a a Kangaroo costume and trying to eat.”
Diem giggled. “No, I can not imagine that. Although it would be a bit funny to watch you try, if I’m being honest.”

Hazel smiled and laughed with her. “ Ahhh now i feel like i’m with the real Anna. And then you must offer the kids a warm hug afterward? Any great memories of being Anna? Or any weird memories.” Hazel asked, wondering what stories face characters have, all of hers were how she got blank stares on the boats. “ Yes i am down with this we could be the dynamic duo, Thank godness today i had three crying babies in one boat and the parents just sat their and did nothing.” She said laughing, but also shaking her head at the fact that, it happened. “ Right i love the puns and the backside of water of course.”
“Of course. Many, many warms hugs.” Diem smiled. “Well, I’ve been here for going on two years. So I have a lot of stories. Mostly good ones, thankfully. There are so many memories of amazing kids who are absolutely obsessed with the movie and come in dressed in more intricate Anna costumes than mine. I think my best memory is a young girl with cancer who told me about how she used to watch Frozen in her hospital room. You don’t really forget things like that.” She paused with a smile before saying, “But you do get the creepy pubescent boy or naughty dad every once and again. The try to touch you inappropriately or say really crude things because they know you can’t break character. That’s always hard to deal with.” Diem’s face fell at the girl’s story. “Oh no!” She sympathized. “I once had a family wait over an hour to meet me and Kristoff and when they finally got up to us their baby would not stop crying; she was TERRIFIED of us, poor thing.” Diem shook her head. “We shouldn’t allow babies here, honestly. It sounds terrible but all they do is cry and sleep.”

“I would love that – or at least all the ones we like,” Camille teased, knowing there weren’t many she disliked but were certainly some she knew better than others, thanks to sharing more shifts with them. “They have to look pretty when people are staring at us signing things, right? We deserve a manicure and massage, stat!”
“Absolutely!” Diem agreed. “It is harder than people think.” She knew that Camille would understand this truth as much as she did. Sure, a big portion of the job involves standing and looking pretty, but there is a lot of expectation from Disney and the kids meeting the princesses for them to be perfect. It did make Diem curious to ask the question, “What’s your favorite part of playing Ariel?” She happily awaited to hear the girl’s answer.

“Oh, yeah. I can see how that could get to you sometimes. Where’s your family live?” This was Paige’s first excursion from home; even though she hadn’t been away from her family long, she was already feeling what could only been homesickness. She made a note in that moment that she would make it a point to contact her parents often, either by text or social media. Just anything to keep in touch. “I actually plan on it. My plan is to audition for a face character at the end of the program. I hope it all works out, but we’ll see how it goes. Have you ever wanted to, like, try another character or anything? Oh, just curious, not because Anna is the one I would want.”
“They’re all the way in California, unfortunately. So I don’t get to see them much. And my parents are really invested with their work and with the time difference and such,” Diem didn’t finish her sentence. She was rambling on and being depressing, and she knew she shouldn’t represent herself that way while in costume. “Really?” She added, happy to change the subject to Paige’s ambition. “You totally should! You’re so gorgeous, I could see you being a princess!” Diem giggled as the girl added the clarification of not trying to steal Diem’s job. “I would like to try working in the park as something else. Maybe another character, or a ride attendant. Anything really. Sometimes doing the same thing every day gets tiring.”

“ I can imagine that could be very stressful. Like what if they don’t enjoy it? Though im sure you are a great Anna! Telling all the kids that they should build a snowman and have chocolate.” She said laughing. “ I’m so glad you do, can i have you on my boat, every ride i do form now on?””
Diem laughed a little harder than was probably socially acceptable in the public space, drawing a few sideways glances. “Yes! And always saying,” she put on her Anna voice, “Kristoff must be off with Sven and Olaf somewhere. You haven’t seen them have you? Oh, if you do, give them warm hugs for me!” She laughed again before returning to being Diem. “I’ll become your sidekick,” she joked. “I’ll sit in the back and chuckle to my heart’s content. Never again will you have a rough ride!” Diem thought about what it must be like to work at Disney outside the realm of being of a face character. Sometimes she wished she wished she could spend a day doing something else than smiling for pictures. “Especially at the puns!” She added excitingly. “That’s the best part.”
#omg yes i hope so#diem is quite silly and sometimes weird but shes so loyal and loving she needs a great friend#c:hazel

“ Nice to meet you Diem, oh don’t worry im sure you are tried of hearing Anna. But what is it like to be one of the most popular princesses out there?” She said smiling. “ We have not I'm Hazel! Finally, someone who appreciates the wonderfulness that is the Jungle Cruise. Someone of the jokes do get old but as long as you change it up during each cruise, it becomes fun experience.”
“It can actually get really stressful. Young girls make this trip just to meet Anna and Elsa, and that really blows my mind. It’s a lot of responsibility to live up to their expectations. But I do really love it.” Diem added, “It’s nice to meet you, Hazel.” Hearing the girls excitement about Jungle Cruise fed Diem’s mood, and she quickly became energetic and silly. “I genuinely laugh my ass off every time I ride. I wish I was nearly as funny as all of you are.”

“I think I’m getting a zit.”
“Story of my life.” Diem agreed with a sigh. “It’s wearing all this makeup every day. I swear my makeup remover wipes don’t stand a chance against this stuff.”

Hazel was so ready for her lunch break. She had to deal with three crying children today in one boat. Her skipper outfit had an unknown stain on it and all she did was waqnt sit down at the nearest table. She grabbed her lunch and sat at a table and saw the girl looking for a seat. “ Hi, i’m guessing you are Anna?” Hazel said with a smile.
Diem nodded with a smile. “You can call me Diem. Unless you prefer Anna. I’ve grown used to it.” She continued with a smile, “I don’t think we’ve met before, but I love Jungle Cruise. I’m on it all the time when I’m not working. The jokes never get old. Well, I’m sure to you they do.” Diem realized she was rambling on and decided to stop talking there.

He groaned, “Not you, too.” James laughed. “Maybe not as bad as them, you still have your dignity. I guess it all comes with the territory of playing a character –or, doing their stunts.” He added when he realized it sounded like he was an actor.
“I have to give you mad props for that. You are way more talented than I am. Being a princess mainly consists of looking pretty and staying in character.” Diem noticed that she was staring a bit too much at the rather attractive man and turned her gaze to the ground.

Paige frowned slightly at her comment, her head tilting to one side. She’d only been there for a few weeks, probably still hadn’t even seen every part of the park in that time. “What do you mean by that? What sorts of aspects?” If she was going to be here, she at least wanted to know what exactly she was in for.
“I just sometimes get a little tired of it,” Diem said honestly, trying to not sound like a complete Debby Downer. “Once I put on the Anna costume I remember why I’m here. I love make little kids smile. But it’s like, I’ve rode every ride 10,000 times and I miss my family, stuff like that.” She took another bite of lunch and after swallowing added, “Disney is a great company to work for. Take advantage of your time here with DCP. And if you really love it, I’m sure you’ll find your way back to us.”

Compared to everyone else in the room, Dae appeared to be fairly uninteresting. She was wearing her chef’s coat, but that was about as far as her uniform went. Dae’s eyes scanned the area for a friendly face to spend her lunch break with, her eyes eventually falling upon Diem’s wide smile. “Hi.” Dae replied, approaching her with a smile. “Mind if I sit?”
“Please do!” Diem said, more than pleased to have company. “But tell me,” she said jokingly, “Are you in charge of making the churros around here? Because if so I would like to personally blame you for my five pound weight gain.”

“That either, although I’m sure the stores are selling out of those fans you wear around your neck like crazy,” Camille sighed, envying everyone she’d seen wearing one today. “Ew, you need to go get a hand massage, those seriously save my life, otherwise I’d have like shriveled up Granny hands by now.”
“You could not be more right.” Diem said, looking down at her manicured yet throbbing right hand. “We should organize a trip to the spa with all the princesses.” Diem knew that logistically this would be one hell of a feat, but it would certainly be a great time.

Dylan nodded his head at some of the cast members around him in greeting before grinning at the girl who just sat down at his table. “Sup beautiful, are you here alone or should I expect to see Kristoff as well?” he teased her a bit before taking a bite of his apple. “How’s your shift going so far, Diem?”
“No Kristoff today, he’s probably off somewhere with Sven.” Diem smiled at the silly line she said over and over to tourists who asked. “It’s been good,” she added genuinely. “Lots of little girls decked out in Frozen Fever gear.” After working as Princess Anna for nearly two years, Diem still wasn’t used to how obsessed little girls were with Frozen. “What about you? Reached Infinity and Beyond yet?” she teased playfully.
