Drawing DoD as humans?
What’s up chat, I’m feeling an creative itch rn and I’m thinking about drawing the dragonets of destiny as humans (their dragon forms are coming up soon too so keep an eye out for that!!), but I’m kind of pooped for ideas so feel free to drop some suggestions down below (please don’t leave me hanging I’ll cry)
I do have some ideas thought I’m not completely creativity bankrupt!!
Glory is black to me that’s non-negotiable
I feel like she’d have locs (probably learned how to do her own hair bc the Guardians were very incompetent and outright negligent to her bc she was a Rainwing) and as her and the DoD explore she decorates her hair more elaborately to showcase her witnessing the beauty of the world and deciding the reflect it in herself Tsunami (and all Seawings tbh) I feel like would definitely have pacific island heritage (specifically Samoan). Also she’s an absolute unit because she’s by far one of the best fighters of the Dragonets of Destiny so she must be ripped
I think it’d be cool if instead of being born with the typical Seawings markings we see in canon, Seawings are born with highly elaborate tattoo-like marks, and kind of like giraffes, they’re all unique to each person (still show up in the same places for the sake of Aquatics as a language being possible, but the shapes themselves are unique)
The only individuals who will have exact copies of specific patterns are the Royal family and twins (obviously)
Clay is obviously a gentle giant!! Also you can pry Desi Clay out of my cold dead heads
Also I have a headcanon that Mudwings’ fire resistance is developed (so a child won’t be as fire resistant as an adult but as they develop their skin handles heat better) so Clay definitely has old burn scars from sparring with Kestrel
I actually feel like Sunny wouldn’t have blonde hair?? Like I always see ppl drawing her as a human with bright blond hair but imo she’d just have black hair, if not really curly light brown hair. Heck I’ll even take ginger Sunny but pls no blond 🙏🏾😭 You can’t convince the Sandwings, who notoriously LIVE IN THE SWELTERING OPEN DESERT, have a single blond gene in their bodies. I mean hey maybe along the Skywing/Icewing borders there’s some light haired individuals but I don’t see Sunny getting that passed on to her bc her mom is a Sandwing and her dad is a Nightwing, both of which come from tribes that have overwhelmingly darker haired individuals
Personally I see Starflight (and the rest of the Nightwings, by extension) as being of East Asian descent
Also librarian!Starflight WILL have long hair you can fight me on this
I’m lost on what clothes they’d all wear tho pls help me 😭

Starflight and Clay (Wings of Fire: REIMAGINED)
Just had a stroke of genius that I must share with the class!!
I think it would be interesting if Starflight was the “genius strategist” of the dragonets. He’s a good plan maker, but far from a good leader. He analyzes people, he doesn’t understand them. He struggles to connect with others because of this. He’s willing to take risks, but so much so that he’s come to view people more as means to an end than living beings. This is all in compensation for his lackluster combat skills and lack of Nightwing powers, which he has been told to hide for years from his hatching mates as being fake (or at the very least, weak). Also side note, but I figured Kestrel would dislike Starflight not just for his physical weakness, but for his cunning, and sneaky attitude. It’s not that he doesn’t care about anyone, per se. No one who “doesn’t care” would go to such lengths to achieve peace and end the war, and protect his friends.
On the contrary, Clay is strong and physically intimidating. In theory, he should be the perfect soldier—but he isn’t. He isn’t bloodthirsty or ruthless. He’s an empathetic, sensitive dragon who can’t separate his heart from his head easily, which makes him great at connecting to his peers and making diplomatic efforts—but it also makes it hard for him to make tough decisions in times of crisis, especially as it pertains to who lives or dies. Clay wants most to live in egalitarian world, where peace is an option, but this ideal is constantly being stomped upon by the guardians, who think the only way to solve the war is through violence and conquest alone—not love, not compassion, not hope. Clay, however, is determined to hold onto his ideas.

STARFLIGHT MY BABY
This might be an unpopular opinion (or maybe it isn’t!!) but I really think Starflight was a wasted character and there could’ve been SO much more done with his character. Like I love him still, but I cant tell if that’s my liking him as he is or if it’s my liking his potential.
thank you for listening to my Ted talk!

WINGS OF FIRE: REIMAGINED (Part One: SkyWings)
Okay heyyyy guys ik I disappeared off the face of the Earth for like a solid 3 months but I finally remembered this blog exists and I promised y'all a rewrite...so here goes nothing!
Tonight I've cooked up some basic ideas for how I imagine the Skywing Kingdom to appear in my reimagining. I WILL be doing the other tribes so don't worry!! Also these ideas are nowhere near finished cooking but uh oh well
sO without further ado, I present...
SKYWINGS
Armistal (Skywing capital)
“Mining Country”
War prisoner gladiator style arena
Violent games held to entertain the Queen
High in the mountains and cliff sides
Cities and homes carved into sides of mountains and valleys
Armistal is surrounded by a range of jagged mountains
A professional, dangerous army filled with trainees who have practiced since they came out of the egg (reasoning: in the OG series Queen Scarlet mentions a breeding program, and if there’s a breeding program, why not a military one too?)
Militaristic
One of the wealthiest kingdoms
War profiteers!
Incredible blacksmiths and jewelers (lightweight durable armor, beautiful necklaces, etc.)
A large portion of the community surrounding Armistal works as stonecutters
The Skywings sound like a formidable and dangerous tribe with a strong emphasis on military might and combat prowess. They also seem to have a rich culture of blacksmithing and jewelry-making, which adds to their overall allure. It would be interesting to explore their society and the social dynamics within the tribe, particularly among the fighters and other groups such as the blacksmiths and jewelers. I imagine there is a GREAT disparity between the stonecutter class and the military upper class
Aqueducts?
It would also be fascinating to explore how the Skywings' military might have affected their relationships with other tribes and the political landscape of the world. Do their neighbors fear them, or do they see them as valuable allies? How has their wealth and influence shaped their relationships with other kingdoms?
The farther away from the central kingdom, the less focused on stone cutting and mining dragons probably are
ALSO ALSO ALSO what are your guys' thoughts on feathery/avian Skywings because I've been wanting fluffy sky dragons for so long like pls hear me out imagine a fluffy Peril (IMAGINE THE PHOENIX IMAGERY/MYTHOLOGY WE COULD GET INTO WITH HER)

Wings of Fire Rewrite/AU
Okay so theoretically—if I were to start working on a Wings of Fire rewrite/AU, would it be interesting to any of you? A big part of it is fleshing out the tribes (Bc in canon we really don’t know that much about them? Even with the guide book that just came out)
