So how come loneliness, specifically, is the only emotion that's like. "invalid" in art. It can't just be a fact of your life, or an emotion that you navigate like anything else; if you talk about it too much, you become self-pitying and bitter, and you're in the wrong for making other people feel bad- so you just have to shut up about it if you're lonely. You can only make art about being lonely if you add a phony afterword like "Oh but I have friends NOW :]" like it's only acceptable if it's useful as inspiration porn.. Because in any other circumstance, if you're lonely, if you don't understand people, if you've been left behind by life, it's on YOU !! You just haven't put the effort into not being lonely anymore, so you shouldn't be talking about it<3

The problem with being bitter and lonely and hating people I think is that you can't really make an extensive story about it because. if you're being honest about it then it makes for a completely boring nothing read. Like I *could* make a comic about someone just living life on their own. but that's not remotely interesting. --> So obvious fix is to add other characters for conflict, motivation, interesting character dynamics etc etc etc- but once literally anything happens in Bitter Lonely character's life it stops being accurate & honest and I stop recognizing myself in said character. and Also I don't fucking know how to write friends

So the sad reality is that you can't really have representation for sad bitter hermits </3 many such cases
