So, a while ago I read that the queen of England sends people a personal letter when they turn a hundred, and apparently, her husband is turning a hundred next year. So my question is…is he going to get that letter? it’s officially summer and it’s almost the 4th of july, my fellow americans. how are you enjoying the weather? will you enjoy fireworks if you celebrate the 4th? i think i’ll have a small pool party with close friends and family and we’ll have some nice food and maybe set off smaller fireworks, nothing too big or crazy.

Summer is finally here and I couldn’t be more excited. This winter felt like one of the longest ever and I don’t even really know why. I don’t think we’ll actively seek out fireworks but we’ll enjoy them if they’re close enough by. My son wasn’t the biggest fan of them during New Years but we’ll see.

Going on tour has been the death of several of my relationships which breaks my heart but I figure whoever I’m supposed to be with, I’ll make it work with.

I’m 34 going on 84 it feels like. I didn’t have the best luck with it either when I was younger, but you’re absolutely right. When you find the person you’re meant to be with, you make it work. Not for the first time, I realized last night that online dating for me is basically impossible. My friends and I were kind of (very) drunk off of homemade sangria and somebody dared me to set up a Tinder account. I took a few selfies and even though they were brand new every message I got was “fake!” or talked about how much I looked like… myself. Because god forbid a gal want to fit in with the rest of the millennials, right? What have your experiences with online dating been, friends? Better luck than me? Thankfully I never really had to experience online dating. Just your good old standard long distance stuff, but no having to meet anyone on apps or anything. Those are kind of terrifying... and hard to understand. Maybe I’m just old, and totally not tech savvy, or I’ve been out of the dating game for too long but I just don’t get it. I think you’ll be okay though.

This week I decided to make the executive decision to move back to my own house. Given everything that’s been going on, I thought it best to stay with my parents for a few months. Now I’m back home, I wondered how I ever lived on my own in the first place. Why do I suddenly find myself missing my mum’s home-cooked meals and the bunk beds that are too small for me in my old room? The petty arguments over toothpaste, and the insistence on a family quiz almost every other night? I don’t want things going back to normal again. @hwlstart​

Because mum’s home cooked meals are always the best. No matter how old you get. But I think you’ll quickly remember the benefits of living on your own and out of the family house.
