Numb, that's the only way she could describe herself. How was it that she had not found out sooner, that they had not warned her. In the back of her mind, she had question the validity of this so called prophecy. Simply because she laid with Bruce, that didn't mean some force was coming to destroy the Amazon's it was bizarre. 

She listened to her mother intently, "Has this great evil arose? Did the prophecy mention the Justice League, did it say I would fight back or go willingly? Because right now, I see no force, I see our own people bickering amongst each other over something that has yet to make an appearance." In truth she was still in denial, if it was true, then she'd fight and if that meant her death then so be it.

"I would rather go out swinging than what you expect of me, I shall not run from this, this prophecy but I shall face it as I have faced every other foe in my life. I will fight!" Diana declared, her eyes burning with fury and passion. She would save her people, yes, but she was unsure on the outcome of it all, would she really die this time.

She had to appreciate his words, him standing there with her and having her back but she had to wonder, if she was truly destined to die then what would that mean for everyone else. "What does the prophecy say, tell us so we may know what is to happen oh wise council." Her words were not friendly, nor respectful, the gathered Amazons looked upon her with disdain.

Batman growled. He didn’t like this. Mysticism, magic. All rubbish that hid the truth of science and fact. Yet it was impossible for him to deny what he had seen in his years. Many things almost unexplainable apart from what he believed to be simple science yet to be understood.

"The prophecy is that of the fall of Themyscira unless the clay child is sacrificed." They finally admitted. Batman snarled as he bolted forward only to be held back by the guards.

"This is ridiculous!" He roared.

"This is your fault!" They snapped back. "You are partly responsible for this! You are the man of the shadows the predictions stated! Your defilement of our Princess is what has brought us to this point. Do you not see their hate for you? It is because you have doomed her!"

"Sacrificed?" Her voice was low, barely above a whisper. What did that even mean? Thoughts began rushing through her mind, how they would sacrifice her, what would they sacrifice her for. It was all too much really, and yet it was the answer as to why her Mother had been so down once she had been called back.

She couldn't just let them attack him like this, it was not his fault, not in the least. "How dare you say that! I am as much to blame though this would not have happened if I had of been informed about this blasted prophecy. Why was I not told before any of this? How could you just leave me in the dark and then expect," She paused, not really knowing how to say it. "I'd be happy to die for my race, in battle but not like some virgin strapped down as a gift."
