One thing I really like about humans is the ability to tell what something is made out of by tapping on it with a fingernail. Is that bad boy glass? Wood? Plastic? Ceramic? Tap on it and find out. So much information with so little technology.

i try to bring it up when anyone says anything iffy or outright bad, but like... i've reached a point where i won't defend my own stuff anymore. if someone purposefully misgenders me or says something abt my anything, i won't say shit unless it applies to someone else in the room or in the friend group. it's so emotionally exhausting.

Do you guys ever get berated for calling something out as antisemitic? Or maybe this isn’t even just for Jews. Does anyone who is a part of any minority group ever get berated by friends who aren’t in that group for bringing up things that are offensive to your group? Had an incident with roommates where I called something out and they called me ridiculous. I ended up crying and everyone is going to bed upset. What do you guys do?

I just need financial help so I can get meds, make sure I keep my insurance and see my doctor. I have a job but with epilepsy everything is SO expensive and the generic medication doesn't help me as well as the more expensive medications.

I wish I didn't have to ask for help like this. I wish my insurance wasn't so expensive. I wish America wasn't like this. I wish I wasn't sick. I just want to stop the seizures. I'm covered in bruises from the one I had a few days ago.

So I'm continuing to ask. Because right now it's my only option. Thanks to those who have helped. Right now I have my medicine. I want to be sure I have money for my insurance and Neurology appointment coming up, as this will help keep me going and hopefully begin slowing the seizures down.

wow i love how early doctor who didn’t give a fuck. like, they introduce this man and his granddaughter: but are they from the future? aliens? both? you won’t know for AGES. then it becomes increasingly obvious that they’re Not Human, but then it’s like… how old is he? where did he get the tardis? what planet do they come from? well the writers sure aren’t going to tell you.

even by the time time meddler comes along and we meet another of the doctors race, they don’t say the words “gallifrey” or “time lord”. and i love that so much. the writers didn’t have a plan for the future, so they kept it mysterious. genius.

we first meet the time lords at the end of the second doctor era. we first hear the word “gallifrey” near the end of the third doctor era. that’s more than ten years into the show! then we finally have a full story set on gallifrey in the fourth doctor era. that’s 13 years.

in conclusion, i think new who could do to calm down a bit, and slow things down. there’s no rush, just have fun with the concept of the show. there’s no need for a huge revelation at the end of each series. in my opinion, it makes much more of an impact to have them few and far between.

Dumpster Diving Tip: WHEN to Dumpster Dive?

Over the year:

As the year goes on, take into consideration the temperature highs and lows if your dumpster diving for food. If the weather gets too hot during the day, it may be dangerous to pick food from a previous day, as the conditions can encourage bacterial growth. On the flip side, consider that consistently freezing weather practically turns your dumpster into a fridge, if you enjoy the forbidden perishables of dumpster diving like meats.

Always take rain into account and plan around it when making plans with your dumpster buddies. Rain can ruin loot, especially if dumpsters are left open.

The change of college semesters, or as some call it “hippie Christmas” are golden opportunities for all sorts of goodies that privileged college students leave behind. If there are dorms or fraternities/sororities in your neighborhood, they may be worth checking out around December and May

Time of day:

Can you dumpster dive during the day? Yes, But! you run a high chance of getting caught, since that’s when employees are most likely to be coming and going

I suggest looking up the places you want to dumpster dive at beforehand, taking note of and avoiding going within 2 hours of opening and closing, that way you give employees some time to get out there (and nobody flips their shit and calls the cops)

Special occasions:

depending on the company, restaurants and grocery stores are sometimes required to throw out all their refrigerated foods when the power goes out, even if it was only for a moment. So next time there’s a storm or you hear about a power outage, go take a peak at your local hot spots, you may just hit a jackpot.
