Today on things I spent WAY more time on than I should have. My friend made a joke about Launchpad playing flight sim on Twitch and having a modest following, and the chat melting down whenever someone familiar appears. Full size the image to see the chat in all its glory.

ducktales is ending and i’m making memes

i feel compelled to talk abt ducktales ending (source) here right now.

ducktales is a show very close to my heart. i've followed the show for close to two years now, and truly it is something special. its made me laugh, its made me cry, it's made my jaw drop. its introduced me to new friends, its gifted me and many others with brilliant representation and diverse characters. its given me a brand new take on my favourite fictional family, and while it looks like their story is starting and ending with ducktales, i'm so happy the mallard-mcquack family got one more chance to shine in a modern setting. i'll never forget the day i saw "the duck knight returns." i'll never forget the morning myself and my partner scrambled to watch "let's get dangerous" as soon as we could the day that it aired.

of course, the final stretch isn't over yet. we have more episodes to come in 2021, so i'm not saying my final goodbyes to the show until then. but i'm feeling extremely emotional right now, so i had to say something here, on my ducktales/darkwing duck sideblog that started as a small blog that i used to binge-reblog ducktales and darkwing posts, that grew into something bigger than i imagined it ever becoming. there's over 2,000 of you here now. i'm so happy we've been able to see each other through this journey of ducktales, and how we're going to see each other through the last episodes.

i love you all, and i hope the news isn't making you too upset. we still got something amazing. and it's going to be wrapped up in a neat little bow in 2021, ready for us to go back, unwrap it and rewatch it time and time again.

heron and bradford constantly fighting about being more dramatic and doing reveals vs. staying concealed in the shadows makes the ending of let's get dangerous so much better in context like

"well, i suppose you wanted to fly around in an unmarked helicopter?"

"YES!"

like. we all kind of assumed this was a moment of heron being written as a little stupid so we could have a slightly shoehorned way for scrooge to find out bradford was FOWL and forward the plot of season three

but come to find out black heron has been doing this for fifty years and bradford's only been keeping his secret by the fucking grace of god. this is absolutely amazing
