“I’m pretty sure that’s the same thing as 99,” Florencia laughed, predominantly due to the flashback to her youth that discussion of the drink brought up. Cheap, got you drunk quickly, and was easy to hide. Of course, it was also completely lethal and utterly disgusting. “She was an actress, I think.” History never was one of her strong suits. “White rum, pineapple juice and,” for a second she hesitated, taking another sip. “Grenadine. You also cannot forget the cherry, of course.” Delicately, she removed the cherry from her glass, popped it into her mouth and allowed the burst of sweetness to drench her taste buds. “Nerves?” Her interest was once again piqued in the stranger; what could she have to be nervous about? “Don’t tell me - hot date. You’re worried they’ve stood you up.”
Tumblr media
“Oooh yea, big time” Daphne agreed, pushing the glass a little further from her for good measure as a joke. Despite her vampirically high alcohol tolerance, Daphne could still feel the burn and the slight headrush that came with it as her drink made it’s way down. “Yes! You’re right,” Daphne exclaimed as realization clicked, “My mom used to love her.” The vampire smiled a little brighter at the memories that came flooding in before shaking them away to stay in the present. “I guess i’ll try one of those. Sounds delicious,” she spoke with a smirk, the bartender overhearing them and nodding as he sauntered off to fill the request. A laugh escaped Daphne’s lips at the woman’s guess, shaking her head lightly in amusement. “Nope, sadly. But damn that does sound a bit better than the truth,” she admitted. “I actually just moved here a few days ago. You’re looking at Lunar Cove’s freshest newbie,” she teased.

Valerie smelled the vampire on the girl as she agreed to let her sit beside her. But she had a discerningly warm smile that caught the wolf off guard. “Thanks,” she smiled softly as she moved to set her stuff down beside her. Val nodded her head at the question. “Yeah, my boss gave us all the day off. I work in a kitchen and they were concerned it would be too hot for us. So I was catching up on some stuff at home before I decided it was time to go out and enjoy the day.” She gave a shrug of her shoulders before leafing her fingers through her hair and sat back. “I haven’t seen you around before, are you new? I’m Valerie by the way.” She offered as she gestured to herself.
Tumblr media
As Daphne watched the newcomer began placing her things down beside her. As she moved, the vampire got a whiff of wolf and instinctively crinkled her nose. Daphne had never been fond of werewolves, considering the reason she’d become a vampire in the first place was due to being attacked by one of their kind. It was a personal bias that she carried with her but tried her best to not hold it against the whole species. It was difficult- and It still left her with an air of caution as she watched the woman sit back. “You’re a chef? That’s awesome. Which kitchen?” Daphne asked curiously, honestly just relieved to be conversing with someone that wasn’t her dog. “Oh- uh yea. I just moved in this week, actually. Nice to meet you, Valarie. Daphne,” she offered back, shaking the woman’s hand as her warm smile grew. “I take it you’ve lived here a while if you can clock me as a newbie that fast?” She teased.

To say Meena was frustrated was an understatement, to say the least. She was well aware that the Black Out had clearly been fabricated the moment she had been able to sneak away from the Country Club where she had been handing out blood bags to her fellow vampires before they expired to survey the lighthouse and hear the grievances from the local witches whose magic had seemed not to be working. But, before they even had a chance to fully look into the culprit, the power had been flicked back on and newspaper clippings had been scattered around town. She wondered if, in part, she should be happy that the one terrorizing the Lunar Covians had been boastful enough to share a clue. Criminals often slipped up when they became boastful such as this and, now, it seemed like there were multiple different amateur sleuths sprouting up all over town trying to crack the obscure riddles that had been left for them. Wannabe Nancy Drews and Hardy Boys should have been more of a cause for concern than anything, but given how dreadful the town law enforcement had been at trying to prevent the previous Council leader’s murders before her political term, she hardly had any faith in them in figuring this out. It seemed that once again if she wanted a job right, she’d had to do it herself. That is if she had even a moment of time to spare as she took a morning walk through town, greeting each resident as she went and checking in on them to hopefully relieve some of their growing anxiety in terms of their own individual safety. The safety she herself should have been feeling grateful for seeing that the culprit had attacked the town once more and thankfully no one and more specifically, no council member, was actually dead. A relief that she preferred to push to the back of her mind as she walked up to another resident, this time one who was sitting idly by themselves on a park bench. “Morning,” Meena smiled softly over at them as she motioned with a tilt of her head towards the empty seat beside them. “Do you mind if I join you?”
Tumblr media
Daphne was honestly at a loss for words after the night she’d had. Not only had she locked herself out of her house practically naked, but she’d done it on a night of a roaming blackout and hunter being out to get them. Gotta love the luck, she thought as she raised her coffee in a toast to herself before taking a sip. The young vampire watched as Gibbs frolicked around the park, stopping by her park bench every so often to bring her a large pinecone or interesting leaf he’d ‘hunted’ on his adventure. She’d just ruffle his ears and send him back on his way with a smile, before hearing someone’s voice broke her of her thoughts. “Hmm? ... Oh, Meena, hi,” Daph managed to get out, scrambling then to move her bag out of the way so she could sit. “Sure, go ahead,” she added. Daph was still nervous around Meena, honestly not expecting to ever see her again. When she’d briefly seen her sire in town when she’d first arrived, Daphne didn’t know what to think, and still didn’t as she looked up at Meena now. “H-how are things?” she offered with a hesitant smile.

Getting to know her surroundings was an immediate habit of Safiye’s. A new place, new people, new restaurants, new favorites–she’d been doing it since she’d left her hometown. Cautiously now, given that her naivety was what got her turned into a werewolf in the first place.
There was a bang that made her nearly jump out of her skin, senses on high-alert, and Safiye made a beeline to the commotion. Old habits never died, it seemed–curiosity was always her vice. What she didn’t expect was to be standing in front of a smaller woman, barely covered by her towel. “Hi,” Safiye said back, giving a once over and assessing the situation before a slow nod of realization. “Locked out? Been there. Towel and all. You got a spare key hidden somewhere? Or have a neighbor that has one?”
Tumblr media
Daphne couldn’t help but be amused at her own misery, an embarrassed flush, and rise at the corner of her lips. “Unfortunately yes, I am. Towel and all,” she added with a tilt of her head, looking around to see if anyone else was gazing upon her predicament. Thankfully everyone seemed to be dealing with the sudden blackout that had happened just before she’d walked out which she was grateful for. At the woman’s next questions Daphne could only hang her head in shame as she found the words. “Unfortunately no. I actually just moved here last week and just bought the house Thursday,” she gestured with her thumb at the house behind her before turning back to the stranger. “Soooo spare keys have yet to be made, and neighbors have yet to be met, until now...” she trailed, mustering a wave at a neighbor who was walking around his house to check his break and spotted them.  “The codes in my phone which is still in my bathroom along with the actual keys to this place on the counter. I...yea, I think it’s safe to say i’m screwed,” she admitted to the woman with a shrug. “What a way to welcome yourself to the neighborhood, hu?” she added.

Dilan had been put on duty to help find the stupid banshees that had all ran off in their sleep during the full moon as if it wasn’t the worst time in the universe. Walking around in her heels as she went through the neighborhood, she was half cursing leaving her car so far back, but that was the disadvantage of driving an electric car in a blackout. Also the fact she hadn’t charged the car didn’t help. Hearing a voice though as a door slammed, she was high alert; walking closer as she noticed a woman outside her townhome in a towel. “Ummm…” Dilan commented, she walked towards the other woman. Mostly curious by what was happening or the why of it all. “Is this your place or someone else’s?” Dilan asked. Not bothering to wait for the answer as she started to dig in her purse. “Can you even get in or need me to pick the lock?” Offering as she pulled out her lock picking tool.
Tumblr media
“As of Thursday it’s mine,” Daph admitted in defeat as she gripped her towel a bit tighter. The newest resident of Lunar Cove raised her eyebrow curiously as the woman pulled out a lock picking tool, a small smirk growing on her lips despite the situation. “Uh- that’s a good question actually.”  Turning from the woman, Daph tried jiggling the door, hoping maybe it had just gotten stuck rather than locked. “Oh come on you stupid thing. Of course, I picked the one house with sturdy doors... dammit,” she muttered in frustration, trying not to let her super strength bust the door down. That was the last thing she needed right now. As the woman approached, Ghibli began to bark from the window he’d been anxiously watching the situation from. “Gibby, it’s alright. She’s a friend...” she turned to the woman then, “right? Like not foe? I’m not opposed to fighting a robber in a towel but i’m also trying to stay on my neighbor’s good side and i’d rather not have them see my- broad side?” She joked, trying to make light of the situation though clearly embarrassed.

Where: Heavenly Healing Spa
Time: The Blackout
While Poppy wasn’t crazy about the spa she had decided to at least take some sibilance of a break since it was a holiday weekend after all. So she’d agreed to at least take a few hours at the spa to get relaxed and do some minor upkeep with her looks. After she’d spent way too long here she knew the bar would be ready to practically burn down without her. So she wrapped the towel around her and headed towards the elevator.
“Hey can you hold that?” She yelled out, ran towards it. Catching the door in the knick of time, she slid in next to the other woman. “Looks like you had the same idea as me.” Poppy remarked with a smile, she recognized the other woman as one of Meena’s vampires. “You know–” She started as the elevator went up before abruptly stopping, causing her to hit the wall behind her as she grabbed for the bar. “Jesus.” She remarked, looked around in the pitch black. “You’ve got to be fucking kidding me.” She swore, holding on tight to her towel. Sighing as she let a flame form over her hand, she looked towards the other woman. “You’re not hiding a phone under that towel are you?”
Tumblr media
After the constant hustle of moving boxes and sweating, Daphne figured what better way to spend the afternoon than checking out the town’s spa. She was no stranger to a little pampering, and a little bit of TLC was calling her name after all the big adjustments. After getting just about a full tune-up at the spa, the petite vampire was still in such a zen state that she almost missed the person calling for the elevator. Shaking her head a bit to pull herself together, she reached out for the elevator doors before she came rushing in. Daphne flashed her a warm, pleasant smile as they began to go up. Just as Daphne began to recognize the blonde from passing around town, and hearing the blonde begin to speak, she turned to look at her just in time before the elevator suddenly halted with a jerk.
Daph landed with a hard thud on the now dark elevator floors. “What the f-” she muttered, looking around into the semi-darkness of the elevator. She pulled herself up off the floor, hearing the woman’s protest that mimicked her own thoughts as she looked around. Daphne  started to reach into her robe’s pockets to see if she had her phone when she saw the flame in her peripherals. “You-you’re a pyromancer?” Daph managed to utter, hoping the abruptness of their situation hid the sadness in her words.

Celestial Hills was a long ways away from Shadow Lake where Tony lived, but he’d had no real plans to go home–at least, he hadn’t until the lights all went out. He had ended the night in the Ice Bar, where he’d had quite a few drinks before the lights all shut off (and now that he thought about it, the whole bar was probably melting; he sort of wanted to see that). Now, half the town was running around in a panic, but Tony looked as calm as could be. Sure, his phone was at around 3%, but he never worried about charging it. He never worried about anything having to do with electronics. It was the shout of “No, no, no!” that caught his attention before the woman had even turned around. In the dark, in this town, it wasn’t a stretch to think that someone was in serious danger. He tensed, then, realizing the situation was more awkward than deadly, bit back an amused grin, cleared his throat, and did his best to look serious and respectful and keep his eyes determinedly on her face as he came to see what the problem was. “You’re locked out?” He glanced past her to the keycode, which of course would be out of power. “I can fix that. Easy.” He cracked his knuckles and “got to work”–except nothing happened. When he reached out mentally to use his technology manipulation to reset the device and unlock it–one of the easiest tricks in the non official book he may have been compiling–nothing happened. It was like hitting a mental wall. He frowned. Maybe it was that last tequila shot. He touched the keypad and tried again, trying to feel the mechanisms within. Nothing. “This usually works,” he said. “Just uh–give me a second.” He waved his hand over the keypad, poked it, tapped the side. “Hey,” he whispered to it. “Come on. You’re making me look bad.”
Tumblr media
“Ahh, yea,” Daphne admitted, pursing her lips in amusement at the situation as she shook her head. “I might as well get me a crown because I am the queen of terrible timing,” she teased, gesturing up with one hand at her porch lights that were out from the blackout. As he got closer she recognized him from nearly blowing her up in town a few days ago, remembering him to be a sweet fellow which put some of her mind at ease. “Holy shit you can? Ahh! You are such a lifesaver,” she beamed, moving aside to let him work. Daphne gripped her towel tighter, wiping her forehead with the other hand less some conditioner was on a warpath for her eyes. She watched eagerly, thanking whatever higher power had cursed her luck for finally having a change of heart. Her hopeful smile downturned at its corners when she heard his words, “Of course, of course. I’ll take any help I can get that saves me from having to break anything,” she teased, hoping to lighten the fairly awkward mood. “Everything alright?” she asked getting a little closer to peer over his shoulder.

Where: Celestial Hills
Who: Open/ @lunarcovestarters
Daphne had finally found a place to call her home, a lovely little townhouse in Celestial Hills. By the time she got around to checking her mailbox with the event flier, she’d already spent most of the day unpacking. With a frown from already missing a few events, the petite vampire quickly went inside to get ready. The loud bang that came from outside happened just as Daphne had worked in her hair conditioner, followed by the warning barks of Gibbs. With a few grumped obscenities, Daphne quickly threw on a towel and ran outside to see what the commotion was about. She’d only caught a split image of someone running away from her knocked-over trashcans before she decided to head back inside. It was to Daphne’s horror that she heard the door of her townhouse slam behind her “Oh Shit. No.. No No No!” She pleaded as she turned around, coming face to face with a locked door. Daphne frantically began punching in numbers, trying to remember the code given to her by the realtors- which was on her phone...that was also inside. Wrapping her towel around her tighter as she turned around in defeat, she came face to face with someone on the sidewalk. “Uh... Hi,” she offered with an awkward smile.

Valerie was enjoying all the holiday’s activities. Though she tended to think of herself as more of an autumn person, she was trying to take in as much of the summer festivities as she could before the summer was over. She had a towel under her arm as she tried to find a place to settle down. There was so much giggling and laughter all around. It was hard not to find it infectious. She moved to tie up her hair before she decided what she was going to do first. She spotted an open seat to leave her things beside someone else.
“Excuse me,” she said in a warm but gentle tone. “Do you mind if I leave my stuff here?” She asked waiting before she placed her things down. She certainly didn’t want to intrude on someone else’s space, but things seemed to be so busy here that space was limited. @lunarcovestarters
Tumblr media
Daphne was relieved when she’d gotten to the beach and realized she hadn’t missed as many of the activities as she’d expected. She’d spent most of the morning unpacking and online shopping that she’d nearly flown into a panic when she saw the event flier on a shop window. The last thing Daphne wanted to do was miss an opportunity to engage with her new neighbors, and hopefully make a few friends in the process. The loneliness from moving to a new town was definitely setting in, Daphne realized, as she watched everyone having fun from her beach chair through her sunglasses. It was a little bittersweet, but she hoped after some liquid courage she’d be able to bond with some locals. She was just about to close her eyes to catch some sun when she heard a voice from above her. Daphne smiled warmly as she realized what the woman was asking, “Oh sure, of course.” The vampire began moving some of the things she’d placed on the empty chair next to her to make room. “Just getting here too?” She added.

Florencia had adjusted back into the life of Lunar Cove with surprising ease. The transformation from a city of 500,000 to the tiny Rhode Island town was one that she had somewhat dreaded when the plan to abandon Atlanta had occurred. Now, three years later, such an act seemed like the easiest thing in the world. That was the thing with the past; it’s impossible to outrun. Home will always be home, whether you wish it to be or not. A routine had occurred for the thirty-five year old without conscious choice. Mornings and afternoons were spent manning the store, the apothecary business never booming but never settling. She would attend her tutoring sessions with Poppy during lunch breaks, when the Supreme was available, and the Follow My Lead dance class every Thursday. Mondays were inventory, and she stayed open late on Wednesday to accommodate the post-work crowd. The remainder of the week was free, though she preferred to spend most of it at Starlight, if only because it was better than staring at the four walls of her bedroom that she had still failed to decorate, from fear of attachment.
An unfamiliar face took occupancy at the space closest to her, eliciting instant curiosity around the stranger. Didn’t she know everybody in town already, or recognized them at least? Florencia had a penchant for keeping herself to herself for the most part, but she still found familiarity in the faces that crossed the square, or passed by the store. Curiosity brewed beneath, though the other opted to speak before an unassuming question could formulate within. “I don’t doubt it,” She offered a smile, no longer worrying about sneaking glances to ensure that she was suffering from facial blindness.
“Mm,” mid-sip, she nodded; manners costed not a dime, after all. “Mary Pickford. It’s good, though likely not nearly as strong as whatever you’ve just had. What was that, 99 proof?”
Tumblr media
“Mmm, more like gasoline... or maybe diesel,” Daphne offered with a humored smile before flashing her an It wasn’t good face, pushing the glass from herself. “Mary Pickford? Now why does that sound familiar?” What’s in it?” Daphne asked eagerly. Although she didn’t really need the suggestion, she welcomed it nonetheless, considering it came with company. The young vampire would never admit it to herself but moving to a new town and starting over always came with a rush of loneliness that always eventually settled, but this time just seemed harder. Maybe it was because she was surrounded by people she no longer had to hide her true self from. Then again she still couldn’t shake her suspicions as she looked around the bar once more. “Honestly i’ll take whatever I can get to shake these nerves away,” she admitted with a small smile.

Tony didn’t recognize the woman–which probably meant she was new in town–but if they hadn’t met in the middle of the street, he’d have probably met her in the ER before the week was up. He was on a first name basis with almost all the ER nurses and doctors at this point because things like the currently screeching box had a tendency to send him in that direction. “It’s a miniature Hadron collider,” he said, crouching beside the box and smacking the side of it. “If I can get it to make a Higgs boson and simultaneously produce a Higgs singlet, theoretically it would open up a fifth dimension and–” He paused, then summarized instead: “If the thing goes fast enough without blowing up, I’ve solved time travel.” But the not-blowing up part was looking sketchier by the second as the box began to smoke heavily. “Well, that’s not good.” He glanced back at the woman. “Hey, did you happen to bring a fire extinguisher?” As if this was something people generally carried around with them on a walk home.
Tumblr media
All Daphne could do was raise her eyebrows in surprise. The names he was using sounded familiar, but all Daphne could register was that what he was describing was dangerous and that’s all she needed to know. “Time Travel?” she repeated, she guessed trying to make herself believe it. The vampire commended him for his passions and efforts. However, considering how much this thing was smoking, she figured it wouldn’t be long before he was taking up residency in one of her ER beds, maybe even one of the morgues. “Are you sure this thing is safe?” she offered hesitantly, almost amused at how absurd her first few days in town had been. Though, what did she expect when she moved to a supernatural haven? “Ahh, sorry. I’m more of the fire starter, not a finisher, ya know?” she teased, trying to make light of the situation at hand. “Wait - I do have this..” she reached into her backpack purse extending her half-filled water bottle. “...though, i’m not sure how well that’ll work? Should we call somebody? Fire department? NASA?”

Anna stood near the bar, hand on her hip and leaning against the wooden frame as she surveyed the floor of On Pitch. The bar was always busy this time of night–at least on the weekends–and with a few drinks in everyone’s system, the karaoke machine was being put through its paces, drunk singles crooning about love in off pitched voices, or groups of friends daring each other to try Celine Dion or reenact the final scenes of Wicked. Others, safely in their seats, were clapping and laughing and ordering more drinks. Every few songs, Anna would send up one of her waitresses–always one of the sirens–and have her sing an “encouraging” number to drive everyone to buy a bit more, but with the way things were going tonight, they might not even need that little “incentive.”
Her eyes trailed from the main room to the filled barstools until they landed on the customer closest to her, a small woman downing her drink far too quickly. “I generally encourage drinking here, but I do like my guests to leave on their own two feet, preferably able to remember their own names.” She looked down at her glass then snapped her fingers at the young man working the bar that night. “Another for the lady, would you, Darling?” Anna took the seat beside the girl. “Are we celebrating or commiserating?”
Tumblr media
Daphne laughed at the woman’s response, “Ahhh, remembering your name is so overrated these days.” Daphne waved her hand away jokingly as she spoke, already enjoying the woman’s banter. Daphne’s eyebrows rose curiously as she watched the interaction between the woman and the bartender. “Didn’t realize I was talking to the boss. This place yours?” she asked with a bit of surprise at her luck. She watched with amusement as the woman took the seat next to her, welcoming the company almost too eagerly. It would be nice to not have to worry about housing or anxiety tonight. “Oooh. I guess you could say a bit of both? Commiserating my old life, and celebrating my new one here in Lunar Cove, as of yesterday. I’m new to town, but i’m sure that’s already pretty obvious,” Daphne admitted with a half smile. “I’m Daphne,” she added, extending her hand with a warm smile to the woman.

He had planned on doing more than just going to his local bar tonight, but Finn couldn’t find it within himself to do anything more exciting. Recently, it was brought to his attention that he hadn’t stopped working since he returned to Lunar Cove four years ago, and that he needed to spend some time off. Finn knew that despite his father’s words, he enjoyed having his son around. They didn’t talk for a long time and the banshee knew his father wouldn’t admit to how much that hurt him. Perhaps being a workaholic was a result of trying to fix that, but it was a sacrifice worth making. Starlight was a great source of relief, Finn realized. It was just around the corner to his apartment and he already found his drink of choice within his first month of being back. He smiles when the bartender serves him his drink, taking a healthy sip before acknowledging the person next to him. He chuckles in return, looking down at his drink before answering, “Ever had a Blood Mary?”
Tumblr media
Daphne couldn’t help but chuckle at his suggestion, the irony not being lost on the vampire. “I guess you could say I have,” she nodded, “Can’t say i’m a big fan of the...tomato in them, though,” she mused, swirling around the last few drops of her previous drink as she waited for another. “I take it i’m not the one having a rough night?” she asked, curious as ever to the man’s disposition. Considering her years of working in the ER she became pretty good at reading people, even if she didn’t have her aura powers anymore. That thought sent a small frown to her face but she choked it down like the last few drops of her drink. Exchanging it with a warmer smile as her hands snaked around her fresh glass, “everything alright, handsome?”

“Oh, um, thanks,” Jasmine pressed her lips together, flashing the woman before her a tight smile before her face fell once more at Daphne’s rather obvious question given how suspicious the witch was acting. Only as much as she wanted to tell Daphne ‘no, it’s definitely not a bomb’, she wasn’t all too entirely sure. I mean of course, it’s not a bomb, she reasoned. But, given that her biological father had just sent her a very ominous-looking present from behind bars, she couldn’t exactly say for certain that there wasn’t something fairly questionable tied up in a pretty package before them. “On second thought, just forget it. I’ll ask someone else or maybe just toss it- Sorry to bother you and your morning coffee by the way. You’re um- I haven’t seen you around town yet. So, I take it you’re new?”
Tumblr media
“Good, good,” Daphne nodded, figuring the answer was obvious but she didn’t want to take any chances considering she was new to town. She was about to ask the woman more questions, curious as she was now that she was assured to some extent that it wasn’t dangerous before she heard the woman protested. “Are you sure? It’s wrapped so beautifully. I can’t imagine it’s contents are anything but the same. Unless... it’s the sender isn’t someone you’re too fond of?” She spoke out loud before placing a hand over her mouth. “Sorry. Sorry. I just blurt stuff out sometimes. I don’t mean to pry,” she added with a coy smile. “No no, it’s fine, actually. The distraction is kinda nice if i’m being honest.” Daphne hesitated for a second, unsure how to answer the woman’s question. She figured the town must be small if she were clocked that quickly but it was still weird to her to consider anything but the truth- less there were hunters of course. “ Ahh, yea. I just moved here yesterday. Well- I say moved, still staying at the hotel until I find me something a little more permanent. I’m Daphne!” She beamed, extending a hand to the woman.

Location: Starlight Bar or Eclipse Time: 11PM-ish Who: Open| @lunarcovestarters
Daphne sat staring at the ceiling of her Emerald Hotel room for what seemed like hours. After looking at houses and apartments all afternoon, she’d come back defeated. The only thing she could think to do was plop herself onto her bed and questions her life choices. Had she made the right decision coming here? Was this all just one big mistake? Before she could spiral any further she quickly popped up from the bed, threw on a fresh shade of lipstick, and headed out the door to see what Lunar Cove’s night life was all about.
Determined to get herself out of her funk, Daphne walked the bustling Lunar Cove streets until she found herself sitting at a bar waiting for her drink. As she waited, she found herself stealing glances around the bar, curious as ever at the type of people who inhabited this place. The petite vamp smiled to herself  at the glass placed in front of her before taking down her whole drink in one go. She swished it around first, then made a face as it burned it’s way down. “I may be tiny but i can handle my liquor, I swear” she pleaded with a chuckle at the person next to her flashing her a look. “Whatever you have in your glass looks really good, by the way,” She added, fishing for suggestions of what to order next.

“Wait, stay there!” Tony stood on top of an upside down trash can, dressed in sweats, Christmas socks, and a ratty t-shirt that was more holes than fabric. But when someone new came walking down what had previously been an empty (though still very much public) street, he jumped down and waved his hands over his head to get their attention. Weaving across the street was a large mess of wires that he had clearly plugged into a public power line, all of which led to a clunky metal box that was spinning so fast it looked on the precipice of explosion. Which was not entirely unexpected, as every “demo” before this had definitely gone up in smoke–literally. “Unless you want to lose your eyebrows–been there, done that, do not recommend it–you’re going to want to take 10 steps back.” He frowned at the box as it made a few worrying, high-pitched sounds. “Er, maybe 20.”

Along with finding a place to stay, Daphne also had to manage the plethora of paperwork from the Hospital to get started. She didn’t mind so much, considering she was excited to get started. Her favorite part of the job was always getting to know and experience new clients. The petite vampire’s mind was still buzzing with answering all the different questionaries and tax forms when a voice startled her back to reality.  She’d just turned the street corner and abruptly stopped in her tracks when she saw the man who was trying to warn her. “Whoa- what?” she added with wide eyed. Daphne instinctively ran her hand up to her eyebrows as he spoke, as she glanced over to the screaming contraption. “Sooo like... What in the world is that thing...?” She took a few steps back just in case.
