When my dad used to read me Lord of the Rings as bedtime stories, he always read it in this very specific voice. I can't really describe it, he just had this very metered pace and gentle tone he would read in. And now, even as a 20 year old, I've noticed that every time I read something, I read it like my dad did. The exact same pace and tone that he used when telling me about Bilbo Baggins and Hobbiton. And if that's not a testament to how we are all just walking fragments of those we've loved most, and to the personal transformative power of love, I don't know what is.
