Just on the outskirts of Seoul, lies an abandoned playground. Beautiful yet eerie as it sits neglected and long forgotten, the overgrowth of flora slowly reclaims its territory. It is said that this is where the ghosts and ghouls come out to play, where the demons freely frolic as they await their next victim. And thus this haunting landmark was so named, Devil’s Playground. It’s been deathly quiet around here, hasn’t it?
Understandably most have been too busy to properly rp and with the lack of active threads going on between members it makes it a bit discouraging for new people looking to join. So it has been decided that Devil’s Playground will go on a hiatus for a bit of revamping. There won’t be major changes to plot or anything but there will be some additions. Anyone currently on the masterlist may feel free to continue rping and when the time comes will have the option to keep their spot when the masterlist is cleared. Thank you and my apologies for neglecting this rp and keeping it from living up to what people expected of it.

she was born into a broken family, a home that teetered much alike to a spinning top that was in its last few seconds before falling over into an empty abyss. half a father, an almost non existent mother, an older brother: this is what her family had consisted of from the moment she was thrown upon this earth. her first memories were of wine stains on the couch and the darkness of the cupboard that lay in her bedroom. hyuna was seven when she first felt the brunt force of a fist, and the gentle strokes of her older brothers fingers; the salty taste of his tears as he hugged her tightly, even though the bruises upon his body were more prominent than her own
it was at the age of nine where she realised that she wasn’t like the rest of the kids in the human world. little fists of coiling blue would wisp from the tips of her fingers, a cooling sensation emitted from it. a freak. that’s what they called her when she showed the kids in class. that’s what the teachers whispered into the phone, thinking that she couldn’t hear their strained whispers. her parents forced her into isolation as soon as it started, the only interaction from her father who would strike her delicate limbs and her mother who idly sipped wine on the sofa while hyuna’s screams echoed through the hallways. sometimes, on a good day, her father would shove her into the cupboard in her room. her brother would always come home late, unable to deal with the pathetic excuse for parents, coddling hyuna until she fell asleep in his arms.
“it’s okay, you’re not a freak. none of us are. you’ll get better at hiding the magic, i promise. one day, i’ll bring us to a save haven: doryeong. that’s where mother and father are originally from, okay?”
her brother: the only other person in the world who could give hyuna life. she cherished him, but his name tasted bitter on her tongue. a tongue undeserving of whispering his name. hyuna was seventeen. seventeen when the beautiful tendrils sprouted from her unblemished back, marking her maturity. seventeen when she mustered up a feeble courage and ran away to experience a better life after her older brothers graduation. she was seventeen when her older brother killed both of her parents before killing himself, his bloodied body found on her empty bed, note clutched tightly in his hand. seventeen, when she lost the only thing she had ever loved as quickly as she could snap her fingers
that would many years ago, and she sits on the soft chair within the village that used to only lay in her dreams: doryeong. how many years ago? fifty? one hundred? time didn’t matter to her, grief still heavy in her heart as she moved on with her life without a lifeline. her brothers note lay on her lap, the rusted blood smeared across the crumpled paper. i hate you, i hate you all. the world is better off without us freaks. a bitter taste engulfs her palete as she bites her tongue. how proud her family must be right now. how unbearably proud, unbearably disgusted, with her still being alive and well. her wings flutter behind her, once a bright blue, presently a deep black as she gives a begrudging sigh before slipping on her flats and heading to work

District-wide block party in Jeoseung
Start your weekend early with food, music, shopping, and dancing! Starting at 7pm on Friday, April 29th Jeoseung will throw the biggest party of the year! Street vendors will line the streets with a huge variety of food and drinks as well as festival merchandise such as t-shirts, accessories, noise makers, balloons, and much more. Eat. Drink. Dance. Mingle. Have a blast!
Grand Parade in Josang
Starting at 10am citizens will line Josang’s main street to enjoy floats, bands, and much more! Be sure to get a good spot for nice view of the Ancients’ float and don’t forget to wave to your favorite Ancient!
Bonfire and Lantern Ceremony at Circle Beach in Yongwang
What better way to wrap up a joyous weekend than with a bonfire at the beach! Come out to circle beach to enjoy live music, barbeque, and more, starting at 5pm and wrapping up at 10pm with a Lantern Ceremony to honor our ancestors and those who lost their lives during the perilous time before Hanseong was founded.

☽ BACKGROUND ☾
Koichi doesn’t remember dying, nor does he feel very dead. What he does remember is being hungry, very hungry, and someone grabbing him and pulling him to a hospital where he was fed and taken care of.
After that, he left Japan and all the memories he had, memories of family and friends and lovers. The hospital wasn’t a normal one; he’d know that from the start. He was told it would be best for his loved ones if they thought he was dead. He didn’t believe them, until he realized that what he’d been eating was human flesh.
They told him about Hanseong. It was easy to learn Korean, and once he was somewhat fluent he got onto the plane and didn’t look back. In Hanseong he decided to live in a calm, aesthetically pleasing atmosphere and slowly build up a life again. Due to his feminine looks and rebellious attitude, he eventually gained more and more followers on Instagram and started using that as a way to make money, endorsing brands of all sorts and more.
Koichi secretly still hopes that someday, someone from his past will find him online and contact him again, but he tries to look to the future instead and leave all those bittersweet memories locked in a box forever.

A few things...
The various housing around Hanseong now have a price range listed, this is to help with making rp a bit more realistic. Please keep in mind the price range of an apartment/house before placing your character there, make sure they can afford it (or at least is struggling to)!
Yongwang housing has gained 2 new additions! If your character lives in Yongwang you may request to have them placed into one of these.
