It Liiiiiiiiiives

I have spent the better part of today trying to get a basic AI working in Unreal Engine 4. 

It was falling onto the battlefield and not moving and so with many hours of debugging it turns out I was not calling the right AIController in the Pawn category of the AI character model. Not that tutorials feel the need to mention this even exists btw.

Rant over it works now so I am happy.

Morale of the story is to just take your time and get it working simple as that. There is nothing that we can’t get through if we just take our time.

Steps made

Okay so no Photos today but I promised a post by the end of the week and I have made steps towards a new game.

The flying game is gone I actually had no passion for it to begin with so I have scrapped it.

My new project is a stealth based game and I will be spending some time on Third person AI movement patterns with a cone of vision. Once I have this started I can get quite far quite quickly. 

I want to make this project keep up with all of the versions of Unreal so I will make sure to make any necessary changes as the updates come up.

okay sorry I have been away for a while I got a little busy with a particular game and had to put my life on hold. 

At this point I will say I am back to post more content, of which I will be putting up by the end of this week. It’s a Tuesday btw so I know people can hold me accountable for being my usual lazy self

Pain and Suffering

I have just spent 20 minutes trying to get RPG maker to get the weather setting past level 9.

What’s crap is that no one has even tried to do this so there is no tutorial on it or if it does exist it is buried under 200,000 videos of how to set up a basic rainy scene with lightning randomly put in which is enough to drive a man insane.

I want it to be clear that I should have put more full stops in this however I am not stopping talking long enough to take a breath so a period does not apply to the previous paragraphs (Breathes).

Right, well now it is time to compensate (btw this should be the catchphrase of every programmer). 

My original goal was to have the snow get progressively worse every map. This will be done with the sound of snow crunching under foot, slower movement (if you can even do this), and hopefully a cloud of cold air being breathed out every step until of course we reach our destination.

This is all to keel me over till i get Unreal Engine up and running. Details on that game to come.

@rpgmakervxacescriptbackups you seem to know things any ideas?

new game Searching for Salara, just started.

Spending the time working with RPG maker VX Ace but can only manage an hour or so a night. 

It was fun to get back into it I hope to make this game great, a description will come next week.
