Went to see Alien Romulus today and I clearly saw a different film than everyone else because mine was boring AF! It was not scary at all, or even tense, like all the jump scares were predictable and had no reaction from me at all! I really don't think Alien films work as horrors anymore, there's just no mystery. I didn't connect with any of the characters and really didn't care if they lived or died. I was expecting it to at least be gory going by the director but there were only 3 bits that were gory that I can even remember and they were pretty mild. I don't know maybe I'm just too desensitised to gore and violence 🤷

I actually said to my friends " Alien Resurrection did that better" and that's a line I never thought I would say because hello?! Resurrection?! Seriously?! But it's so true. This film was just meh and barely had anything originally in it. People worried about spoilers? Don't worry, if you've seen Alien, Aliens and Alien Resurrection then you've already seen this movie so you're good. Some of the lines and CGI were pretty cringe as well.

Super disappointed, so I came home and re-watched Aliens to make myself feel better, that film is way more tense and exciting than Romulus and I've seen it a million times.

if anyone would like to learn a couple tricks for carving pumpkins:

- dont cut out the top to scoop out the seeds, cut out the bottom instead. this way the pumpkin doesnt cave in on itself and lasts longer - sprinkle some cinnamon inside at the top after carving. this way when you put the candle in it smells like pumpkin pie
