"The enigma remains obstinately in hiding, convinced that personal revelations get between audiences and whatever fiction he performs.....Pacino's canny about the way fame can turn an actor inauthentic, flaccid in the kind of interactions that tune imagination, identity, the performing instrument....
'I realized people were receptive to me. And I hadn't earned it. I had done nothing to earn their laughs, or their interest or anything. And it felt kind of cool to just sit there and not have to earn it. And I think it's a trap...'"

I'm thinking about this and wondering why they cut this bit out of the movie but it does explain Sal's behaviour. It's rly sad, it honestly shocked me when reading the script... I'm just thinking if not it applies in the movie. Al stated that John would ask a lot of questions regarding the script and some of the lines and that in the end Sidney lost his patience and just demanded he say whatever's wrote down so, idk

honestly, i wish they kept these scenes in the movie as it really just helps build up to Francic's breakdown and how crazy it is how Max would just dismiss all the warning signs as him "fooling around". Idk it's just crazy, the script goes into a lot of detail and there's a lot more explicit stuff regarding the traumatic events (I'm sorry I don't remember who I got it from, it might have been @alpacinoinheat but the links here😭) https://drive.google.com/file/d/1ywTYCqCSWUJkDJmx_KqAZholtI7dFKWr/view?pli=1
