DESCENT QR9/GardEnia landed safely on ZryTwe at approx. 12:349 st 69”L. The first thing one sees is the planet twinkling with bright magentas and purple. Landing requires precision driving two rocks — but it is possible! When the door to the shuttle opened, it hit broken pieces of geodes that formed the shimmering effects anyone can see from the surface.
The weather is not hot, no other signs of life outside of the plants I can see.

A bright pink stalk looks to be growing out of the crystals that protrude out of the stone. A deep purple flower bleeds out from the end and emits a soft, vanilla smell. When touched, it wavers up and down but nothing remarkable.

Opalescent vines hang from the ceiling. Speaking from first-hand observations, the vines do not react significantly to surprise human force but do seem to have a sticky, slightly barbed surface. The small leaves that pepper the vine broke easily from their roots and fluttered to the ground like insect wings.

The rock wall behind the DESCENT QR9/GardEnia LZ lead further up into a hollowed out cavern, dripping with geodes in midformation. Further examination of the cavern revealed the source of the rustling sound from the past night to be somewhere in the vicinity. So far, the exact source remains unknown.

It seems, though not biological creatures, the rocks move through a process similar to organic life forms. It can be compared to the formation of raindrops, causing shards of crystal and shattered rock to be littered in piles on the ground.

Plant 01Z12 has a friend! The outcropping of Geode Form 3c next to the body of water* [INFORM SATWA OF WATER DIVISION NEED] had an abundance of royal blue bulbs piercing through the edge where the wall meets the sand. Above the newly discovered plants were clusters of …REDACTED SLI123094… as well as 01Z12s connecting to their blue counterpart.
Plant 01aZ12
3 stalks form one bushel of this plant. The flower that rests on the end is the same shade of royal blue but the tips match the pink of 01Z12.
From this observation as well as documented ocular observation, these plants seem to provide one half of a life-giving formula that involves Plant 01Z12 [ORIGINALLY IDENTIFIED PARENT TJ.b].

In the night, I saw a patch in the distance. Glowing. Erupting from the geodes shed by the shifting valleys and caverns. Familiar even from a far distance.
Plant 12Z12
A swirl of yellow petals and waxy leaves swirls up the stalk, resting on the top. They seem to grow in bundles easily disturb. When they are agitated, they glow a soft gold. He called them a “Crown of Flowers”.

The glow the color of his hair in the morning sun.
Plant 12bZ12
The glow as bright as the flashlight Satwas shone in my catatonic eyes. The scent of strong herbs like the ones Satwa waved under my nose to wake me up.

The last text I received that evening was

I should have known then.
Locked the windows, held him close.
The flowers began to glow as the sun set and the moon rose in the sky. He tried to hide it but I could hear his fear in his breath.

When his heart beat loudly underneath his ribs, moving steadily up and down, I should have known.

The door opened and he jumped out of bed. He moved with agility I had never seen. I was frozen. A figure moved through the door, black and formless.
They attacked, slinging sharpened points as I watched my man’s eyes turn black as the night he gave me my crown.
And I watched his blood glow as warm as his breath when he told me I had his heart.
From beside me, I could smell the sweat and cologne I had known so well, mixed with the whiffs of iron that stung my nose with the cracking of his bones.
The clatter of the objects stuck in his body rolling over to where I could see by the glow of the night.
