there should be mental illness accommodations in jobs. idc what job it is- any job. reasonable time off, PLEASE. its too often i have to choose between going to work and doing literally anything else for the day. and i'll choose work because i have to. but it leaves me running on fumes to do pretty much any other single thing for the day. getting gas, calling my bank, calling my family, getting groceries. people like me don't have the capacity to run a 40 hour work week and maintain themselves. and so we just burn out and run on that burnout until we cant anymore and then... fail. again. and try to get another job and do the same thing. its such a trap. why is adulthood such a trap?

can we talk about how hard it is to set boundaries with people who knew you before you knew how to set boundaries?

or to be evolved and understanding and compassionate with people who have brought you conflict since before you knew you could?

you can do all the therapy in the world and turn a new leaf with your work life and start having a healthy love life and make better friends but go back to your hometown i dare you. tell me you wont find at least one person that wipes away YEARS of emotional work for you. "i don't really hold grudges" lets go back to your elementary school 👀 tell me about your siblings 👀 what are your parents like 👀👀👀

I had an idea for a trend that I want to make happen. Hear me out:

For nail techs, show me ur fav nails you've done, your inspiration, some of your craziest, whatever, show off your style and talent but THEN show me what your nails look like right now. Right at this second while you're looking at your phone.

For cosmetologists, show me all your fav cuts and colors that you've done, your inspiration, your talent, and then show me your hair as it currently looks in this moment.

Artists show me your fav finished pieces, your inspo, and then your current WIP in all its imperfect glory.

Makeup artists and estheticians, show me your favorite work, your inspiration, and your face as it is right now.

The point I wanna make here is that professionals don't often look the way they make others look. Sometimes you have to show up with a messy bun and no makeup to get the job done, and your work will still speak for itself. Also that creators are people, and often busy, underpaid people who don't have the time to take care of themselves the way they're paid to take care of others.

here's a thought lets stop discussing teenage celebrity's bodies. it doesnt matter if you think they look pregnant or got lip fillers or a BBL, if they didn't start the conversation don't talk about it. they're teenagers. their body is none of your concern.

if youre just mad bc the people around you are "just a little too liberal" go 100 miles south. if that doesn't work keep going. you'll end up where you need to be. but stop announcing yourself to the world like it's an act of bravery. it's an act of groupthink. of obsoletism.

i think if i were a celebrity i'd occasionally (or regularly) show up to red carpet events in a t shirt and jeans. maybe like one of those tuxedo t shirts. not to be funny but just cause like. i'm an a-list celebrity cordially invited to a red carpet event. i can do whatever the want. so why tf would i bother to spend thousands of dollars on jewelry and an outfit and shoes and a makeup artist and a hair stylist. and like. would i get an invite to the met ball? probably not, unless i started some whole new fashion movement. but god knows if i did i'd take the theme (AND I'D ADHERE TO IT BC FUCK the celebrities who show up looking super boring) and turn it on its head. gilded age? i'm a common peasant bitch. full period-accurate attire but im not making that shit look 2022-ified. i wont even wear shoes if that's accurate with the times.
