“I know, but when someone says things like, it makes me doubt. I’m still a girl, you know? It still effects me.” Kira shrugged her shoulders. “I’m already pretty fast but yeah. Faster than you, fatty.” She poked his stomach in return.
“Yeah, I know. I’m sorry Kira. Really.” Derek swat at her hand, laughing, “We will make you faster than anyone here. Or at least very close to that point.”

“Oh shut up.” She tutted and swatted his hand. “I thought it was mandatory in the first place? Marcus was always unhappy with how small I am when I’m a wolf that’s why he made me train. I can’t grow any more. I wasted couch potato time for nothing.”
“That was when Marcus was in charge. Though... We should train still.” Derek frowned and looked at Kira seriously, “You are fine just the way you are... You know that right? Yeah, you’re small. But we use that to your advantage, not make it a hinderance.” He grinned, “We will make you one of the fastest ones around.”

“Ohh no! NO!” Kira whined then smacked him again. “Haven’t I done enough training? I have muscles I didn’t even know I had now. Look!” Then she pulled her top up and pointed to one near her stomach. “That didn’t exist until recently. I wanna be a couch potato!” She was whining on purpose, to see what he’d do about it.
Derek just poked her stomach, “Huh. Doesn’t seem to have as much muscle as you keep saying.” He laughed, shaking his head, “No couch potato. Training is going to be mandatory. I am going to need help with getting our pack in shape and on the same page.”

“Stayed up all night. Did a lot during the day so I was super tired when I went to bed. Took NyQuil….I’m running out of ideas.”
“Damn. Um, I heard that a lot of people do tea or something to ease up on it.” Derek frowned, “I don’t know if one should be using medicine to sleep.” It never really worked for him anyways.

“That’s good, god knows what they would do to him if they were able to find him, I don’t even want to think about it,” he wasn’t in the pack for too long, but he already felt a certain connection with all of them. “I never really had a family to be with in the full moon, since my sister is a vampire, and the people that raised me are humans, so I am glad I have you guys” he always made people confused when he said that, because they couldn’t understand how a werewolf had both parents humans and his sister vampire. Some always guessed he was adopted or one of his parents was a step-father or mother. “I respect your opinion, but I will never think is okay for them to drink from the vein, if they asked for their permission and they let them do it, I would be okay, but they either compel the person or use their force to do it, that’s not okay, and it’s unfair. Don’t worry, I am also staying away from Nicolas, but I don’t want to come near Erik either, I am just civil with him because of Kennedy” he said honestly, it was not a secret that he was not a big fan of the guy, so he didn’t see a reason to hide it. “Yes, you should do that.”
Derek smiled, “And I am glad you are with us, too. If you need anything just ask me or Kira or anyone else that is part of the pack... Though I gotta ask. I know your sister is a vampire... But your parents being humans seems unique. Do you think one of them is a werewolf and just not telling you?” He was certain that one parent had to carry the gene. That was how his family was, as well as Marcus and Kira. Perhaps there is something he is missing. “Noted” Derek made a face at the mention of compelling, “I don’t come in contact with the vampires and their feeding habits that often... Though the vein thing is troubling. I see where you are coming from in terms of the whole compelling situation. Perhaps one of the next things for me to do is talk to some of the vampires.” He made a mental note of who he needs to now talk to, trying to figure out which one would be more important first. “Thanks Shawn. I appreciate you telling me all this.”

em--harris:
Walking over to the beat up door of the bunker, she traced a couple of fingers over the dents and jagged edges. “So how are things going to be different?” She glanced back to newly reinstated Alpha. Besides the change in the color of his eyes and the power she could sense radiating off of him, she wondered what else had changed about her friend.
“That’s all I ask.” She smiled at the mention of fighting an alpha together once more. “I’m here whenever you need me.”
“Well that place isn’t going to much use to anyone anymore” Derek gestured to the door, looking at the place in grimace. He was a bit lost as to how Marcus and Pandora even got to the point they did but in the end it doesn’t really matter. “The pack here has always taken a more peaceful yet defend ourselves approach. I can’t have anyone lashing out or working for revenge anymore. Vengeance can’t be the answer.” He shrugged, “Though it is a bit harder to actually put the words into actions. So I will be dealing with... Quite a bit for awhile.”
Derek smiled, “Thank you Emma. Seriously.”

“Hey.” Kira bumped his chin up lightly with her fist. “We’ll deal with whatever’s thrown at us together, as a pack. You have my loyalty, you always did.” Then she moved up onto her tiptoes and rested her forehead against his for a couple of minutes, letting him silently know that she was there for him and to show him some affection before stepping back once again.
Derek moved his forehead against hers, feeling more relaxed than he has in awhile. When Kira moved away, he grinned in thanks before shaking his head. “Now I just need to figure out a game plan from here...” He smirked, “Maybe throw in some more training.”

torres-natalia:
“Yeah… and it’s everything together here… vampires, werewolves… who knows what else.” She wasn’t even going to assume anymore. “Besides, after what happened at the carnival and with the Lykos, I can’t even blame hunters for wanting to end them. I just wished they made a difference.” Then she smiled. “Well, some do, I have to be honest about that.” She liked Jace, she liked Talia… she knew not all hunters were like the asshole that shot her, but if more like him would flock into town, they’d have a problem. If he knew what she was, he’d find out about the others soon enough. “Always the Lykos ruining everything. Well, at least we know who we can blame.” It wasn’t just her life they had disturbed, everything here had changed because of them as well. And it was here she had chosen to flee. “I’m kind of a disaster in running away from them, am I not? If I end up here where they have chosen their next target?” Something they weren’t going to succeed in, if she had any say in the matter.
“I’m managing in keeping myself well fed for a while now, since I moved here…” Before that it had been Owen who had almost force fed her from time to time, on those days she hadn’t even managed to get the energy together to stand up and get something to eat. “And don’t we all? I mean… guilty pleasures and all that…” She laughed. “Although I have the feeling that here in town a guilty pleasure is more drinking yourself senseless, if I have to believe some of the stories.” And she had to admit it was fun, at least when she had done it with Amber. It just wasn’t something she wanted to do on a regular basis. “You’re doubting if you should have ever let him take over as alpha? You just didn’t seem ready for it…” And yeah, that probably had been a mistake. Power wasn’t something that you could hand over that easily. “We all do stupid things. And it sucks that this was the way to make it right again, but it happened…” She nodded when he was back in sight. “Somehow I think so. You were destined for this, at last, that’s what my father used to say when he talked about this pack. You just took a harder road to get there.” She smiled before she put a bit to eat in her mouth again, chewed and swallowed. “Thanks.”
“Yeah. Welcome to Arcadia, a literal melting pot of beings together” Derek mumbled, shaking his head a bit. Who even knew what, or who, was around the town anymore... He had to hope that most people living in his town are not wanting a fight. Not like the Lykos... “Perhaps we will need to find some hunters that are friends. Show them that not all of us want to be involved with the likes of the Lykos... Maybe that can be the difference.” Looking down at Natalia, he chuckled, though her words weren’t that humorous. "Well you might be bad in running away from them... I am glad you are here.” He was being honest, giving her a smile, “And this place will be their last target. They don’t get to destroy any more packs or take our territory.” That pack has overstayed their welcome. Derek can only wish that he acknowledged that much sooner.
Derek chuckled, not wanting to admit to Natalia that he was one of the people that had been drinking senseless. At least the last few months have been that way. “I suppose you are right about that. Everyone has a guilty pleasure, in food and drink, among other things.” He wasn’t drinking as much, which probably helped but he rather not admit that to being his guilty pleasure. He preferred to focus on her words, listening to her talk about her father and perhaps he was always destined for this role. It was something he has been hearing quite often... Derek didn’t completely believed it. But... He liked the idea of others believing in him that much. That he was always meant for this.
It gave Derek some hope that everything will be okay, oddly enough.
“Thank you” Derek told her, smiling, “I think... I think I like to believe what you are saying. It helps a bit.” He took a bite of food, staying quiet but pondering on when Natalia will ask him to join. Derek is pretty certain she will be a good addition to the pack... His only regret is that it took her losing her entire family to get to this point. But maybe what she was talking about... That was also meant for her too. “Feel free to crash here as long as you like” He spoke up again, “I’ll get you a key later.”

moonchildshawn:
“I can imagine, no one really wants to have to do that with their best friend” he wouldn’t even want that, so he hoped that he would never have to do that. “I hope so too… The Lykos is really dangerous… I hope he found a good place to hide…” he also hoped that he could come back soon, so they could be sure that he is okay and that nothing happened to him, that Lykos didn’t kidnap him and wasn’t torturing him to revenge for what he did to Paranda.
“Great, I am glad that we were able to find another safe place for us to together in the full moon. I definitely didn’t like spending the full moon by mysefl, it was not fun” he always felt a little better when he spent with the pack, there was a feeling of safety and relief, he felt better when he was around them in the full moon. “Erik can be nice when he wants, but he still feed from the vein as far as I am concerned, I am hoping that I am wrong, and that my sister niceness and caring for other people is rubbing off on him, and not the other way around… I try to avoid him as much as I can, not exactly someone I like talking to, so I don’t know exactly Nicolas have been up to lately, but he is someone I don’t trust and wouldn’t be surprised if he still have been killing people” he said with a frown. “She didn’t say a name, just said that there’s a new alpha. Yes, that is true”
“Yeah...” Derek agreed with Shawn, his thoughts still lingering on Marcus. Who was still roaming wherever it is in the forest. At least he can find a small comfort that the beta was in borders of the town... Though that comfort was extremely small when he is aware that the Lykos packs were in the same position. “He knows these woods a lot better than the Lykos. Years of living here as well as being a ranger. I think he can avoid them for quite awhile.” That is what Derek had to believe. The alternative is something he could afford to think about.
Derek smiled a bit, “Yeah, I never really enjoyed dealing with the full moon alone either. Always had family or a pack with me. So we will make sure that all of us are together, in a safe place so no one gets hurt.” The pack didn’t need that on top of a new alpha change. The potential of harming a human is too high with a wall keeping them all in. As well as hunters possibly having a field day with them roaming in the woods. His thoughts were about to hover to Marcus again but the talk of vampires grabbed his attention. “The problem, I think, is if they completely drain a human. I mean, I think they don’t need to do that... But my information on vampires is limited. Erik has helped me before though. Nicolas... He is one I would stay away from, Shawn.” Frowning, he began think about what this new alpha would mean. “I will need to find Amber then and ask her about him. If there is a new alpha... I might have to make it known that this is my territory a lot sooner.” Despite hoping that people assuming Marcus being alpha would keep him from being killed.

“It doesn’t matter, what matters is that now you can make it right. It’s not too late to right his wrongs… even though you shouldn’t have to. But let’s honest here, you’re you.” Before he could pull out of the hug, Kira gave him a kiss on the cheek, scoffed and smacked him across the chest at his teasing.
“Someone had to look after your dumb asses, so I accepted it… eventually.”
“I am me” Derek chuckled a bit, knowing that he was going to help Marcus with whatever has happen while he was alpha. As well as establish his new role. “Well you accepted a lot. I appreciate it, you know” He shrugged, “Just now got to figure out how to deal when everyone else figures it all out.”

kiraxang:
Kira listened to his worries of fucking up his alpha role, she moved closer once he was finished speaking and took hold of his hand, giving it a light squeeze. “Look, Marcus was too far gone in the end, he was mad on that power of the alpha. He wasn’t trained to be an alpha in the first place, you were, that’s the difference that will help here, Derek. None of this ‘shit’ was your fault, it was all on Marcus and his decisions, he thought he was protecting us and the territory. He didn’t know any better.” She could’ve talked shit about Marcus, but she didn’t, where would that get her anyway? She had grown up with him and he was one of her best friends. Kira let his hand go, set the brush down and pulled him into a hug.
“You’re gonna be okay.”
Would he get to that point as well? Derek listened to Kira but he still wondered if letting Marcus become so focus on revenge was his fault. If he didn’t just take back the role sooner, maybe a lot of things could be played out differently. “He didn’t. But I did, Kira” He shook his head, “I should’ve stepped up a lot sooner. Maybe I would be able to protect him more than I can now.” Hugging Kira tightly, he didn’t say anything for a few minutes, feeling like he was ready to be alpha... Even if he is nervous about making a mistake.
“... You’re just happy that you are getting your way now, aren’t you?” Derek teased her, pulling back a bit and looking at her, grinning a little.

"Beauty means the scent of roses and then the death of roses.“
Sun in Libra
Born under the October Sun, Derek is a Libra (AKA The Scales ). At his core, Derek is sociable, intellectual, and owns an eagerness to co-operate and avoid rocking the boat. It is all about keeping the peace with this sign; and though that comes with a reputation for untruthfulness, white lies usually stem from a desire to keep the peace. Librans like Derek don’t look at things in absolutes, often seeking the best, most just way to live. On an individual level, Derek represents laws of civilization, and as such, may come across as very civilized. Being part of a group is an inherit need for a Libra. He’s drawn to melting pots and significant partnerships, and, above all else, is level-headed and assimilates easily.
Moon in Aries
Life is a series of emergencies for a Lunar Aries like Derek. In regards to his self image, and emotional responses, he lives in the moment and has a hard time waiting for things to happen. As such, whims of the moment take absolute precedence in his life. This is a fiery position of the Moon, which grants Derek an inner passion that even his Sun and Ascendant, should they be more low-key, can’t obscure. This position of the Moon brings out a defensive side in Derek, as well. He may take things personally, and deal with problems by facing them right away. Flare-ups end almost as quickly as they start, and although a strong personality is projected, Derek likely goes through plenty of ups and downs.
Ascendant in Libra
The Ascendant is a symbol of how one acts in life, or rather, the image of the personality as seen by others. When it comes to Rising Libras like Derek, it seems everyone likes him. They can come across as nice, pleasant, and fair, often attracting others effortlessly. Libra rising people can also be enormously persuasive, in a very soft way, and can excel as mediators. Unfortunately, praise for accommodating others first, might pressure them to continue the “nice guy/gal” image in sacrifice of self-expression.
Mercury in Scorpio
In matters of communication and logic, Derek is extremely observant and astute, always reading between the lines and looking for the real meaning behind things. He may also be passionate in speech, and excellent at strategy, making him a natural psychologist.
Venus in Scorpio
In matters of emotions, values, and relationships, Derek attracts others with his intensity and willingness to commit. Though he may not say it directly, it’s his actions in love that promise deep commitment and sexual pleasure. Venus in Scorpio seems fearless when it comes to intimacy, and are intensely loyal to the one they love. They possess you, and somehow make it seem attractive to be possessed. Although Derek may want to explore all of his partners’ nooks and crannies, he may not always be forthcoming with his own. In turn, it is demonstrations of loyalty that make Derek in love, feel most fulfilled. Appreciate his courage when it comes to love and intimacy.
Mars in Cancer
Derek’s desire for action might incline toward passive-aggressiveness. With Mars in this position, Derek will resist change and shy away from direct confrontation. There needs to be a feeling of security before he acts. The best offense is defense for Mars in Cancer natives. This might make him appear weak to some, but Derek can be very strong. In fact, his strength lies in his tenaciousness. The protective nature of Cancer is best expressed when he is protecting others. This position also grants Derek defensive reactions. When he feels cornered, it is likely one will witness a burst of emotional display. Derek may be argumentative or threatened by indifference, but with reassurances and confidence, this native may prove to be dependable in the long haul.

moonchildshawn:
“Oh, okay” he nodded, so because of the magic Marcus didn’t die, that was good, again, he wasn’t a bad guy, he was wrong to do something without talking to the rest of the pack, and to have tortured and killed Pandora. But he did it all, because he thought was the right thing to do. “I am glad that he was able to stay alive, I wouldn’t want him to have died” he said with a frown, especially because they were best friends, if Derek had to kill him, would have been awful for him, he couldn’t imagine how hard that would have been.
“We should use that place, we can use it in the next full moon” he was nervous about the full moon, like he had always been, even if now he would be with his pack, he still would be. “I am not talking about the hunters, Lykos you already know is a threat, but there are some vampires that are too, Nicolas, Jacob, and Erik. Amber told me there’s a new alpha around, she didn’t say anything about him hurting people around here, but that we need to be careful with him” there was also Gabriel, but if he told Derek, the vampire would come after Derek and the pack. “Yeah, I know”
Derek nodded, looking down at the ground, “Yeah... I didn’t want that outcome either.” How could he? As it was he hated that he forced Marcus’ hand to that point. But it had to be done, he had to take back the alpha role. It was the most responsible thing... As well as his right. It was always his right to be the alpha, leading their pack. “I just hope that Marcus is alright in the woods... The Lykos are all in there as well.” At least that is what he assumed was where they were all located. In the woods or hiding away in their homes. Waiting for the next move.
“That will be the plan then. All of us, together, in the area” Derek smiled, “If it all works out then we might have found our new hideout for the full moons.” Listening to Shawn, his eyes narrowed a bit, recognizing the names. Jacob... The man inquired quite a bit when Marcus was in a coma but other than that they hardly talk... The other two. “I know who you are talking about. Erik can be talked to a bit, he has helped me out with some hunters before, but Nicolas... He is old. Like really old. Probably doesn’t care if most of this town burns to the ground as long as it doesn’t try to take him with it. What has he been up to?” The back hairs on his neck stood at the mention of another alpha, almost making him growl. “What alpha? Of course we need to be careful. Any alpha in this area should be seen as a possible threat. Territory is a big deal.”

“What’s wrong Mr Sighy?” Kira asked when she finally came back down a few minutes later, brushing her hair. “Spill it.”
“I was all but determined to have Marcus take the alpha role...” Derek glanced at Kira, “I bugged him for awhile before he agreed. Telling him that he would be better, that I couldn’t do it. And now I wanted to take the role back from him... I succeeded in getting it back... What if I fuck up? What if all of this shit that happen is my fault, Kira? Because I made my beta be the alpha...”

theo-matthews:
Theo shook head, scoffing at the other’s concern. That’s all there ever was. Apology after apology and nothing but pity and concern all the damn time. “I don’t need anymore people asking if I’m okay or if I’m need anything after everything goes wrong. Why are you never there when I actually need someone.” Somewhere deep inside he knew this anger was misplaced but it was coming out anyway. “My parents were not killed by a human and neither was Talia. I’ve had enough of supernatural to last a lifetime. Go. Away.”
Derek stayed quiet, not wanting to let the guilt of Theo’s words show. He wanted to tell the boy that he wanted to find who attacked his parents, vows to find who killed Talia. That now he was the alpha he will try to do his best to protect and help everyone... But he is certain that he can’t help Theo and that bothered him. “Fine. Goodbye Theo...” Derek hesitated for a moment, wanting to sit down, and just be there for the boy... But maybe it was time for him to bow out of Theo’s life. The boy has been surrounded way too much death thanks to supernaturals. Turning around, he began walking away.

“Blegh, I’ve only ever heard a howl like that once in my life.” Kira shuddered a little. “Okay. Then that’s what will happen.” She went and grabbed what she needed and start to gently brush out the knots from her hair. “I’ll be a few minutes.” Then she vanished upstairs.
Derek nodded, watching Kira go upstairs before heading to the kitchen. Taking a deep breath, he went to the fridge, opening and staring at it, not sure what he wanted. Realizing that thought went beyond just food he immediately closed the door, sighing a little.
