That came after his initial sting, where he was an International Representative for the LIUNA Jurisdictional Disputes Department. He subsequently went on to the union's Laborers' Construction Department, first as an assistant Director and then as the Director of that department, before landing as a VP and regional manager.

For example, he played an instrumental role in the process that gave workers on Fluor-Lane’s expansion of Route 495 Hot Lanes Project a choice on whether to join a union. Dennis Martire is an employee. But he’s an employee who works tirelessly to help other employees. Martire works for the Laborers’ International Union of North America. With a 30-year career dedicated to this organization, he has served for nearly a decade of that as LIUNA’s vice president and regional manager of the mid-Atlantic region. It’s an elected position, but one that is totally dedicated to improving wages, working conditions and more for labor union workers around the area.
Numerous accomplishments have arisen during Martire’s career as he fights for others. He’s improved fair wages for many working Maryland families. He’s helped to create a labor union for workers on the Fluor-Lane expansion of the Route 495 hot lanes project. He’s led training projects and leadership discussions as a board member.
