# My Introduction to the Blogging World: A Journey Towards Nursing
Hello, blogging community! My name is [Your Name], and I am beyond excited to start this new chapter of my life as a blogger. I’ve always found writing to be therapeutic, and this space feels like the perfect way to share my thoughts, dreams, and experiences as I work toward my future goals. So, let me give you a little glimpse into who I am and where I’m headed. Spoiler alert: it’s the world of healthcare!
## Where Do I See Myself 10 Years From Now?
Ten years from now, I envision myself walking the halls of a bustling hospital as a registered nurse, confidently providing care to patients, helping them through some of the toughest moments of their lives. Nursing has always felt like a calling to me, one rooted in compassion and a desire to make a difference in people’s lives. I see myself not just as a nurse but as someone deeply involved in specialized care, perhaps in neonatal or critical care units where every decision can make a life-changing impact.
Beyond the day-to-day responsibilities of a nurse, I also see myself continuing to grow professionally by acquiring advanced certifications, furthering my education, and becoming a mentor to younger nurses just entering the field. Teaching, training, and guiding others to be the best nurses they can be feels like a natural extension of my passion for healthcare. Who knows, maybe I’ll even be involved in healthcare policy or community health advocacy—anything that lets me be a force for positive change.
## Was My Learning in SPUP Vital to Where I'm Leading?
My experience at Saint Paul University Philippines (SPUP) has been a crucial stepping stone in shaping my vision for the future. SPUP provided me with a strong foundation not only academically but also in terms of values. The school’s focus on holistic development—spiritual, moral, and intellectual—has given me a unique perspective that I believe will be invaluable in the field of nursing.
I’ve learned that healthcare isn’t just about treating diseases; it’s about caring for the whole person, something SPUP has instilled in me through its integrated curriculum. The emphasis on community service and outreach during my time there also gave me firsthand experience in helping those in need, making me even more excited about the path I’ve chosen. I’ve come to realize that the skills I’ve learned in communication, empathy, and teamwork will be just as important as the medical knowledge I’ll acquire in college and beyond.
## Was STEM the Best Choice After All?
When I was in high school, choosing the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) strand seemed like a daunting decision. At first, I wasn’t entirely sure if it was the right fit for me. But now that I’m reflecting on that decision, I can say with certainty that STEM was the perfect choice for someone like me who dreams of entering the healthcare field.
STEM prepared me for the challenges ahead by laying the groundwork in science and critical thinking. The lessons in biology, chemistry, and even mathematics were not just abstract concepts but essential building blocks that I know I’ll continue to draw on throughout my nursing education. STEM also fostered my curiosity and analytical mindset—qualities that are indispensable in healthcare, where you must be ready to solve problems and think on your feet. So yes, STEM was definitely the right choice, and it has only fueled my excitement to dive deeper into the medical sciences.
## What Course Will I Take in College and Why?
This brings me to my college plans! I plan to take up a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), which is an obvious step for someone looking to become a registered nurse. The BSN program offers both theoretical knowledge and hands-on practice, making it the ideal pathway for anyone who is serious about becoming a professional nurse.
Nursing, to me, represents the perfect blend of science, care, and compassion. I want to be at the front lines of patient care, supporting individuals through their health journeys and making a tangible impact. Nursing also offers a range of career possibilities—whether it’s working in hospitals, clinics, or community settings. It’s versatile, dynamic, and incredibly rewarding. And given that healthcare is constantly evolving with new technologies and treatments, I know that this profession will keep me on my toes and always provide room for growth and learning.
One of the biggest reasons I chose nursing is the opportunity to connect with people. The relationship between nurse and patient is special—nurses are not just medical professionals but also a source of comfort, support, and hope. This human connection is what I find most inspiring, and it’s why I believe nursing will be the most fulfilling career I can pursue.
