the fact that mike is hoppers biggest opp probably baffles her
my headcanon (or maybe it is canon) is that every adult in hawkins sees mike as a rude little brat except for joyce who thinks of him as nothing but a very good and kind kid, because mike has always been respectful towards joyce and she genuinely cannot comprehend that other people would think of mike as anything other than sweet

The fact that Will liking Mike was spoiled by the cast before s4 and now Noah can’t even talk about it. It’s happening guys it’s happening.

byler not being endgame would mean:
- an unsatisfactory ending for will byers
- the show reinforcing will’s belief that he cannot fall in love because he’s queer (a common belief among many queer people)
- his feelings being used to only benefit one of the many straight couples in the show
- the show going against it’s message of “you’re loved and valued for being different, embrace the differences, don’t conform to what society wants”
- the biggest gut punch and “fuck you” to queer people watching

I think you shouldn’t forget how romantic couples are built in this show, and how, in each season, the feelings of one partner are shown to the audience.
Nancy liked Steve in Season 1. She was paired with Jonathan, who was shown to be in love with her, but by the end of the season, she was back to being "happy" with Steve after having a small moment with Jonathan when she gave him the camera. And bam! One season later, they became canon. (Season 2)
In Season 2, both Lucas and Dustin were interested in Max, but Gaten said the writers didn’t want to ruin Lucas and Dustin’s friendship. So, they wrapped that up within the same season and gave Dustin an amazing partner in Season 3. (So, their build-up was different for a specific reason.)
In Season 3, we saw Hopper having romantic feelings for Joyce and being very straightforward about them (which is pretty different from the Byers brothers, but well, it’s Hopper). Meanwhile, Joyce was still mourning Bob, so she ignored Hopper and wasn’t clear about her feelings. Then, after a brief moment where it seemed like they could be something, Hopper "dies," leaving their future uncertain.
Oh, wait, we know now! They became canon in Season 4!
Sooo, what do we have in Season 4? Oh yeah, Will showing his love for Mike. And what about Mike? Oh yeah, we "don’t know" how he feels, and he’s so in love with his current girlfriend. Meanwhile, Will sacrifices his own feelings for Mike’s happiness. They had that same brief moment at the end of the season, making us wonder what’s going to happen next. We “don’t know” what’s coming.
What do you think is going to happen in Season 5? Following the pattern of previous seasons, in every season, one character is shown to be in love with another main character, and then in the next season -bam!- it turns out to be mutual! I mean, it’s obvious where this is going.
And do you know what the funniest part is?
The order.
Jonathan and Nancy, the siblings of the people involved.
Hopper and Joyce, the parents of the people involved.
Mike and Will, the people involved.
This post is just for Bylers who have Byler doubts.
IT’S OBVIOUS.
