Moisturizers for women
Hi ladies. Recently we have been delving deeper into the literature about the different types of face moisturizer for women. We have learnt that there are many types of face lotion for women and that there is no such thing as the best face moisturizer period.
However, one thing has caught our attention, and that is that we might be making some mistakes that render them less effective. While it might seem like an easy process, we are sometimes doing it wrongly. Today we will be presenting those few mistakes that seem to stick out like a sore thumb.
Now, let’s first discuss how we went about gathering this information. Of course there was the standard searches for bloggers having issues about “face moisturizer for women” and “face lotion for women”. However, we also looked into all the forums to review consistent threads.
Tumblr media
The first one that we wish to talk about isn’t as uncommon as people might think, and usually doesn’t have it’s full effect until it’s too late, and that is rubbing too hard. You see, although some people seem to have a thick head, the reality is that the skin on this part of the body is actually quite delicate.
Think about it - it is exposed to a lot of sun for long periods, right? That’s why most brands of ace moisturizer for women has so many protective ingredients in it. I know that the temptation to rub the moisturizer in is strong, especially because it might seem like you are saving time. However, do remember to not overdo it.
Why? What can go wrong? Admittedly, it is not a severe disaster if you rub too hard once in a while. However, do it often and you get all kinds of ouchies such as redness and irritation. If this happens, even the best face moisturizer, so to speak, won’t work to it’s optimum extent. Keep it gentle and massage your skin delicately.

The next mistake we often make is to apply makeup too soon after using our moisturizer. To clear the air, it is indeed the right order to use moisturizer before applying makeup. This is a fact that almost no one would dispute. However, you should wait for a few minutes before applying it. Why?
It is because you want your face to completely absorb the moisture from the product you are using, and the way the world works, it does take time. Not an awful lot of time, mind you, but a few minutes nonetheless. One blogger describes her routine as follows: washing face, using her face moisturizer for women, brushing her teeth, then putting makeup. Tada, problem solved.
The next mistake we are going to touch on while using face moisturizer for women is to omit the area just underneath the eyes. Yes, we all know that most brands of face moisturizer for women seem to focus on the face. But hear me out, as there is a case for focusing on the place just under the eyes as well.
You see, the way aesthetics work, one of the things that determine how radiant you look is your eyes. Dark and saggy spots under the eyes can result in an overall tired look - hardly the way you would want to present yourself, right? Be honest here. Now, the way to apply moisturizer to the eyes are the same as that of the skin, but a little more gently.
The last mistake we are going to explore with face moisturizer for women is allowing too much moisture on your face. This is something a lot of us do, but might not be aware of it unfortunately. This might be because common advice regarding face moisturizer for women tends to focus on not using enough. But the contrary rings true as well.
What could possibly go wrong if you allow your face is exposed to too much moisture? Well, contrary to popular belief, possibly, too much face moisturizer for women on your skin can result in blockage of your pores, resulting in your face feeling greasy. Ewww.
Alrighty, that’ll do us for now. I hope that you have learnt a little bit more about using face moisturizer for women in this article. Be sure to educate yourself in terms of which product to get as well as how to use them properly. Cheers.

Mistakes with my skin
Face it, we all make mistakes. There is no shame to admitting to that. This might apply to your beauty regimen as well. Today I am going to be talking about three things which we often overlook, but can have dire consequences on our skin if not addressed. More specifically, I’m going to be talking about mistakes involving the use of face moisturizer for women.
Tumblr media
Why are we talking about this? It is because a lot of people do not realise the importance of skin hydration. Poor use of face moisturizer for women can lead to dehydration of one’s skin, leading to nasty consequences like inflammation and acne.
While most would think that only those with dry skin is affected, Dr. Joyce Imahiyerobo-Ip, M.D., director of cosmetic dermatology at South Shore Medical Center is quick to warn those with oily skin or people with skin types that are prone to acne that not taking heed of these would have negative consequences too. Today’s tips come from a variety of dermatologists, including Dr. Imahiyerobo-Ip.
The first mistake is the poor layering of products in general, as well as the order by which you insert your usual face moisturizer for women product. This is important because poor ordering can affect the balance and leave you prone to bacterial and other infection. So what order should you layer your products?
Well, Dr. Imahiyerobo-Ip. Has an answer for that. She recommends starting with the lightest product and slowly adding on thicker products. Simple, isn’t it? One example is for those who are prone to acne. An example of a morning routine could be to wash first, followed by taking anti-acne externally applied medication, followed by a face moisturizer for women, and then sunscreen. Easy enough, isn’t it?
The second mistake is one which myself admittedly, as well as many other women are guilty of committing, and that is using your day face moisturizer for women at night. To those who are not in the industry, this might be a curious thing to discuss. After all, aren’t all face moisturizer for women meant to be the same? Well, apparently not.
Yes, indeed it is not a conspiracy to steal your hard earned cash. You see, dermatologists recognise that the skin actually goes through cycles, and using the appropriate face moisturizer for women at the right time of the cycle is really beneficial. On the contrary, not doing so could result in undesirable consequences.
You see, the best time for your skin to repair and rebuild is actually when you are fast asleep, especially when you are going through the REM phase of it. This has been demonstrated in scientific studies and is not disputed. As such, you should reserve the use of face moisturizer for women with ingredients such as peptides and retinol for night use, because that is when skin repair is at its peak.
Another reason for getting night-centric face moisturizer for women is because skin tends to dehydrate at night, and this is an unfortunate fact. Now that you know this, you aren’t going to neglect that, would you now? I know I’ve had to learn it.
Tumblr media
The third and final mistake I had been making is skipping what we call “the patch test” when trying out a new face moisturizer for women. It is really peculiar why we neglect this. I mean, when we are trying a new shade of lipstick or eye shadow, we always test it’s shade before buying the product, right? We should be doing the same for face moisturizer for women too.
face moisturizer for women
Dendy Engelman, M.D., a board-certified dermatologist and cosmetic surgeon in NYC, always suggest the patch test for new face lotion for women. How this is done is by applying the moisturizer on the neck for a few days prior to using it properly. This establishes two things - comfort levels and checking that it doesn’t lead to allergic reactions.
Why is the latter important? Because each face moisturizer for women is different, and the range of ingredients can really vary. Unfortunately, some of them can be irritating or allergy-inducing in some women. Some of these might include retinol, formaldehyde and phthalates. You don’t really know what you’re allergic to until you try them.
There we go. Hopefully this helps you. I know it has certainly helped me a lot when I first found out about and implemented them. Let’s all strive to better ourselves in different areas, including those that highlight our femininity and can help us to glow.

You see, for Italian standards, I have the wrong type of curves: My relatively small bust is offset by a narrow waist and hips that look… Rubenesque, for lack of a better term. If Botticellian were a word, I would happily adopt that as the main descriptor of my figure. You would think that a Mediterranean country that saw sirens such as Sofia Loren and Monica Bellucci on screen would be all about celebrating curvaceous women, but that’s not the case.
While big breasts elicit admiration from friends (and maybe a sleazy look from passers-by), a bigger bottom will always be the butt of a crass joke, causing remarks such as “We should put you on the meat slicer.”
Women’s websites and magazines are just as unforgiving: In 2016, a photo of Chloë Grace Moretz walking around in shorts was panned by a fashion journalist on the site IoDonna: “Unfortunately, Moretz is not thin enough to afford to wear those shorts unapologetically,” the caption read (it has since been deleted). This year, an article on the Instagram famous “Bambi pose” has a kicker that reads, “Weren’t last year’s flamingo-shaped floaters more photogenic than this?”
Whatever Italian magazine you open, whether it be general interest, fashion, or a random lifestyle publication, you will find ads and service pieces focusing on thigh- and butt-slimming lotions (“Lose up to 5 cm!!!”) right next to chest-plumping products that will promise you that your boobs will go up one cup size in a month.
Things are not so body positive on social media either.
A couple of years ago, an Italian influencer who had recently lost a lot of weight launched a “motivational” campaign on Instagram and Twitter called #civediamoaluglio (#seeyouinjuly) to encourage her followers to work on their problem areas. The participants verbally chastised each other when they were giving up along the way. A tweet reading “I found a Lindor praline in my pocket, I feel like Rose clutching the Heart of the Ocean” got the reply “Good. Now throw it away, just like she did.”
Such campaigns never elicit horrified reactions. I can’t imagine what the backlash on sites like Jezebel or the likes would be like, had an influencer famous in the English-speaking world started a similar initiative.
As the digital entrepreneur and speaker Veronica Benini told me over email, “Italian women feel ugly and fat compared to the beauty standard that TV and the media promote; yet on average, Italian women are pear-shaped.” Benini, who lived in Argentina, Italy, and France throughout her life and worked as an architect before becoming a digital entrepreneur, has been promoting the beauty of bigger butts via her blog, classes, and speaking engagements since 2011.
“We have a real disconnect between real and perceived image, to the point that many Italian women avoid a lot of types of garments, activities, and ambitions because they feel they are not up to the task, and when I say ‘up to the task,’ I refer to their [perceived] physical appearance,” she sahres.
