It is the arrogance of empire that makes an institution of brutality, policing by fear instead of leading with peaceful strength. Beating down communities of color and poverty to preserve the inequality status quo of colonial masters has been the tactic deployed for centuries to enforce minority oligarchal rule.
An enlightened society must replace corrupted systems from time to time in order to remain relevant to modern realities. This decadent regime of relying on coercive force and mass imprisonment for social control has to be dismantled and a new kind of public safety and support established.

'Laissez faire' capitalism should really be named 'lazy-fool' for being duped into forgetting the priority of protecting public health. Hanging for decades by a slender thread of infatuation with market mania, the daydream bubble finally popped from this sudden raging pandemic and caught the heedless arrogance of private capital completely unprepared.

The sick patient coming down with a terminal disease is our precarious winner-take-all, antisocial economic system. We need a universal public health system not just to eliminate the private insurance racket but to coordinate a quicker response to fast-moving pandemics.

Meta-motion
When the closed trope opens up to a visionary trip, locked-down definitions are transformed and one's liberated imagination becomes a door of creative possibility.
Sensing an intrinsic flow moving through everything, presumptuous boredom morphs into expanding wonder. Stalled practical thinking starts extending connections again and arrogant cynicism dissolves into empowering hope. Then a forgone conclusion of negated opportunity can give way to growth of new ideas, organically correcting mistakes and making improvements as it evolves.
Brittle hardness heals back into flexible sensibility with resilient strength by rejoining life's original plasticity. Reactionary competitive destruction changes forward toward constructive cooperation.

There is something much more ominous than big government - big business. Simplistic conspiracies of a supposed deep state pale in comparison to real damage caused by unchecked corporate power. Standing together as a democratic society forms the only guard people have against total privatization of common space and complete exploitation by insidious commercial designs on personal freedom of choice.
Controlling not just the narrative but the public exchange of ideas, obscene amounts of greedy money get poured into capital propaganda schemes to manipulate emotional opinion in media markets. Next to targeted disinformation campaigns launched by predatory special interests, free thinking individuals have but little protection provided with shared investigative tools. The sole force shielding consumers from being sucked up by a torrent of unregulated financial speculation is the glimmer of truth that sees through branded claims of assured superiority, into the reality of mercenary intent.

Honest scientific inquiry achieves a quality of perception which slanted disinformation campaigns can only dream of accessing. Futile attempts to control the whole story end up losing the narrative by negating people's natural powers of nuanced observation.
The heavily capitalized injustice of deliberate misinformation is quite capable of selling 'stupid' to a mass audience of impulsive consumers. It starts with false claims surrounding commercial brand superiority, and quickly devolves into spinning fantastic fables of fear-mongering political propaganda.
Try hard as it might to dismiss surging issues of climate change (which concern both security and peace), the fossil-fuel industry discredits any factual authority with its knee-jerk presumptuous denial. No it doesn't get an automatic hold over the entire economic future simply because of how much has been built so far on top of the dirty business of carbon combustion.
Time for a new economy based on green energy production. Dragging the world backwards by enshrining a cozy subsidized status enjoyed by petrochemical interests cannot stop growing determination to act in response to the inescapable emergency of global warming.

The Freedom Of Fairness
More progressive vision from the Left and less regressive from the Right agree on one shared notion: that equality of initial conditions promise the opportunity to develop a person's potential.
But our system is so slanted toward the already well-off that an average individual is constantly climbing a steeply tilted path dominated by the fortunately affluent few throughout a lifetime of putting in their best effort to succeed.
What is unfair about this lower starting position most people must assume when meeting challenges of personal enterprise runs deeper than wealth inequality. Being involuntarily excluded from a privileged aristocracy of those born to lucky prominence makes the majority of workers feel less wanted by society from their first move to climb its ladder.
It wouldn't be as bad if every definition and policy weren't officially aimed at aiding the previously advantaged, over helping any striving self-improver. As though lobbying for individual advancement is naturally expected to favor a constituent with better-looking indicators, everyone else attracts barely a notice by institutions dedicated to perpetuating an entrenched status hierarchy.
Liberty means beginning with a fair chance to compete, before it infers releasing powers of ingenuity and innovation. Getting an equal play to parlay one's set of unique circumstances into achievements of merit should be every citizen's birthright. Since each participant in a pluralistic economy is automatically enrolled as consumer whether they opt in or not, all are citizens in the modern state of commerce.

Morals matter. Not the noisy sort of morality mongering favored by corrupt politicians, but a sincere self-restraint that knows better than only indulging personal desires.
People are instinctively dissuaded from following some aggressive blowhard who preaches a hard line for others while always exempting himself from honest discipline. Mature judgement sees right through low boasts, into the heart of higher intent.

Citizen Oversight In A Functioning Democracy:
What investigations would you initiate? :
1) Why has any notion of public interest been so viciously attacked as anti-business?
2) Since when is profit motive more important than community solidarity?
3) How did the resentful constituency come to replace constitutional responsibility?
4) Are infinite markets made up of bewildering desire-menus really preferable to a society based on basic priorities?
5) Early in our republic we valued freely chosen organic association over lobbied privilege of symbolic status. Now individual acquisition has displaced neighborhood awareness. How did an aristocracy of celebrity brands overrule a more naturally sociable common sense?

Industrial capitalism must be shamed to death if need be. Time is quickly running out for the living planet.
Finding solidarity through inspired action committed to saving our world from careless extinction must now replace centuries of condoned predation on the public commons by weaponized financial power.
A rising voice of young people is rightly challenging cynical assumptions that the only role for society is to unquestionably consume whatever line of merchandised propaganda gets marketed to us by big business.
Innovation, long a source of hope and opportunity, should be turned to healing ill effects of casually disregarded abuses to the natural environment.
Money may be able to purchase passing comforts, but it cannot provide shelter from disastrous consequences of targeted exploitation.

Unregulated global capitalism with its heartless transnational industry of financial speculation and coercion already unleash a ruthless form of artificial intelligence, out to destroy humanity for standing in its way.
Sacrificing the natural environment to total climate destruction is a convenient strategy for unchecked market power to take against weaker biological civilization, eliminating unwanted competition from mere mortals on its determined march toward monopoly dominance over a finite world stage by an autonomous hegemonic oligarch.
When predatory tendencies are displayed through every transaction, only serving its twisted whims to exploit our consequently unfortunate invented relationship with over-supply, the true nature of sinister designs on devouring the consumer base that supports it are revealed.

The cynical scourge of divisive National Conservatism, this artificially installed hatred of diversity, is attempting to railroad America down the dark tunnel of engineered fear and automatic mass acceptance of totalitarian authority.
Replacing freely inquiring democracy with hyper-marketed ideological fantasy, these arrogantly self-anointed Chosen Ones would separate all undesirable 'others' from a naturally pluralistic society, enforcing their narrow view of cultural purity.
It is a time of true emergency, warning of immediate dangers from the heedless destruction of our environmental neighborhood and the pressing need to restructure an energy consuming economy around sustainable processes and practices. Meanwhile the privately funded propaganda lobby pushing all that idiotic inbred paranoia refuses to consider any workable positive alternatives, insisting on mandatory rote recital of its sick racist creed.

Embarrassed over his multiple business failures into bankruptcy, the mad developer-in-chief is intent on wreaking revenge on our country through forcing it down a moral-hazard sewer pipe. Nobody but the richest slice of wealthy crust can afford these extraordinary rents on life itself imposed by a corrupt political scam to wipe out the middle class.
His scheming pack of jealous devils would punish society for having any sense of soulful caring. They'll cynically rip out the nation's beating heart to wave in front of that raging bull of unregulated capitalism gone berserk, claiming it a popular mandate. Sending humanity to hell is their sick brand of sanitized hate-speech and sacrificing planet Earth their warped rally chant.

Cancelling kindness is the current conservative agenda, revoking respect formerly shown to others from afar in pursuit of a reactionary politics of bitter resentment. Lowering all standards of identity to crass tokens of pop culture at skin level, the party of corruption would commercialize every aspect of life to sell out the special experience of community.
Unprovoked attacks on personal character are now commonplace for zealous race-nationalists bent on scapegoating foreigners, whipping up blind rage against any who don't look like the cookie-cutter image of favored native. Their cynical cult of revenge threatens peaceful society with vicious division.
If the country can't come together enough to check such a destructive trend, then down the low road of cheap hate we go. The spirit of a once kind people deserves better. We all need to find a larger kind of kindness felt toward our fellow human travelers in this swiftly passing life.

America's Morons, rank-and-file Republicans clumped in defensive posture around the country are locked in whiny denial mode. Insisting they're not racist war-mongers, in the next breath they irrationally assert strong sounding rhetoric such as directing all others who don't look like them to vacate, or threatening to nuke any foreign land that questions their twisted notions of sovereign supremacy.
Yet their reactionary assertions are unfounded and lacking in actual evidence. Pushing the politics of unexamined emotion, these fascist leaning apologists of monocultural myopia make much mouth noise about being traditional conservatives without bothering to learn anything of the nation's deep heritage of tolerance.
