Be me:

Randomly remember that one cutesy show that I really liked and was ashamed of watching because I didn't want to be seen as a girly girl (or just a girl in general as my trans-masc ass figured out way later).

Now after all those shitty feelings are outta my system I want to revisit it, and first go over to AO3 to look up Mia and Me fanfics, because of course I do.

There's only a handful stories, most of them abandoned and or very short, one incredibly long and cool looking that definitely went on my to read list, and one with a trans guy.

I think one of the things that appealed to me about Centopia was the option of wholeheartedly being yourself (and probably also wanting to look like Mo).

And considering how different Violetta looked in Centopia (also damn does she give me vibes), centopia feels like a trans person's dream. I know it apparently was mine.

I really, really want to write a fanfic now for a show I haven't watched in years. Please send help (and join in if you also want to make something out of this old show)

I want someone to make an edit like the ones on tiktok with the song Soldier, Poet, King by The Oh Hellos with the trio from Mia and Me.

Yuko is the Soldier (she is good at fighting and wants to protect her loved ones and centopia)

Mia is the Poet (she memorises and solves the oracles which rhyme like little poems, she is also always the one that wants to solve things by talking it out)

and Mo is the King (he is the elven prince who will inherit the throne of centopia and it's a huge responsibility)

It literally fits perfectly, I'm crying

I know that the show plays it off as a joke that Mia takes a long time to properly learn to fly but like...her wings are literally new limbs that she never used before. It's kinda realistic that she has difficulty using them. And it's nice to see that although Mia is the only one that understands unicorns, she is not perfect in everything. She needs quite a bit of time to master this (like 21 episodes iirc)
