it still messes with my head that what has been going on in the latest chapters isn't even fiction, it's our everyday life. these things happen every fucking day.

you pick a kid, basically any kid, because all of them have dreams - they want to become a doctor, an athlete, a lawyer, a singer etc... you name it.

these kids (much like izuku) have an idealised image of that career path in their head from an early age, not knowing what is waiting for them, but they still work very hard to achieve said dreams. this is their fuel, what defines them, what pushes them to keep going.

what happenes when you don't give the child a chance? like what would have happened if izuku never got OFA? with time, he would have settled into the thought of not becoming a hero, but it also would have mean that he's purpose was stolen from him.

but that wasn't the case, he was given a chance, a helping hand. it is the same as when in real life someone says that they believe in you. do you remember that moment, when one of your teachers or someone you looked up to said that they saw potential in you? it is an amazing feeling.

but as everything, it has a kickback. most of the people crash under the weight of all of this.

and again, it messes with me how potential gets wasted, because people cannot have the help and support they need when this happens. when someone gets a chance, everyone thinks that it is the best thing that could have happened to that person and on one hand it is, but on the other the sentence 'i believe in you' can easily become one's curse for life.

this post is quite messy and maybe one they i'll write a better one of this topic, because i cannot stress enough how much these young individuals NEED PROFESSIONAL SUPPORT FROM THE START.

because people saying that you are talented and that you have a big future above yourself only makes things easier temporary. after not so long of a time the self doubt and impostor syndrome crawls right back.

and it is not the kids', but the adults' responsibility to notice, when help is needed.

okay, okay, it might be stupid, but doesn't anyone else suspect that Izuku might actually die at some point of the manga? don't get me wrong, i really don't want this to happen, but him becoming the greatest hero ever doesn't cancels out him dying for the cause... i don't know, i don't know.

headcanons about izuku, because every single one about him on the internet is himxreader which IS 1000% COOL, but i want to be him, not be with him, so here we go

• he's extremely good at drawing, so although he never ever gave up on becoming a hero, he's plan b was to become a manga artist

• he's the messiest neat person you'll ever meet

• he LOVES zombie movies, books and comics

• he's a messy eater

• he gets really good grades, but kids from his class always told him it's only because he's a genius, so it's easy for him and even though he's pretty smart he always had studied A LOT and it gave him extreme impostor syndrome over the years

• he remembers every single person's name he ever had as a friend (full name and probably the name of their parents + their birthdays too)

• as a child he spent most of his summer holidays at his grandma's

• he tells everyone he's an early bird, because he wants to be one, but actually he's the biggest night owl you've ever seen

• he has trouble falling asleep, because he's mind is always running

• he prefers sweet over salty

• he wouldn't say that kacchan is his best friend, but if he had to choose the most important person in his life (other than his mom) it'd be him (yes, he knows that it's weird, but ->

• even when they were on extremely bad terms, he still believed that kacchan and him are some kind of soulmates (platonic or not, you name it)

• he loves to eat fish

• he likes mint flavoured sweets like chocolate and ice cream

• people can't describe his natural scent, they always tell him that he just smells like something really neat, like a soap or some kind of hand cream

• HE LOVES TO HUG AND CUDDLE, however most of the times he's too afraid to ask
