i love teasing todoroki but at the same it’s kinda sad bc when u think about it, he was never allowed to socialize with people or even his own siblings and was brought up under endeavors incredibly strict rules in order to train him for one specific purpose.

so it makes sense that he takes things so literally bc i don’t think endeavor was teaching him how to make jokes or use sarcasm but simply speaking to him very directly and straight to the point because there was no need to speak to him otherwise. shouto really had no chance to make friends or understand that there are people who he can trust and spend time with and interact on a genuinely kind level.

so while it’s adorably funny that todoroki tells bakugou that he thinks of them as friends it’s also super endearing because todoroki’s really trying his best to befriend his classmates and learn more about them and how to form healthy relationships with other people rather than just fight and train for one specific purpose that’s not even his.

his development is so beautiful and i’m so happy to see chapters where he interacts with more than just the dekusquad because he’s really not as introverted as people think he is.
