a tall, curvy girl with short blond hair and wide blue eyes, lillian was a pageant child in her youth. now, it's been ten years since she stepped foot on a stage, and it's still all she's known by.

she doesn't resent this, really, but she's been trying to make a name for herself outside of that, but her family doesn't help, calling her princess lilly and dismissing her constantly.

she prides herself on her niceness, her perpetual kindness and sweetness, but she's also fully capable of fighting back. she does kickboxing and skateboarding for the sake of burning energy and anger, and is top five in the county at both.

she has been dating dean for so long she knows everything about him, but tends to keep her own secrets, especially about her childhood. she's always been more of a listener than a talker.

an indonesian american boy who really just wants to fit in and be liked, but doesn't particularly like playing the part of a person he's not, and therefore fails consistently.

he's a quick talking man, who remembers facts about things and tries to utilize those in conversation, to mixed results. most people at least entertain him and allow him to ramble and give them fun facts about whatever he's thinking about, but some people can be exceptionally cruel. he doesn't let them get to him, and is pretty good at brushing off cruel comments.

he joined the basketball team in middle school, and was pretty decent at it, although he was very prone to injury. by high school graduation, he'd lost four teeth, and broken his hand twice, but he still got a full ride sports scholarship to his dream school to study biology.

him and lillian have been dating since sophomore year, and plan on getting married someday, despite their tendency to break up on a whim, then get back together.

a lanky, tall (6'4") boy with more piercings and freckles than face, and our main pov. he suffers from severe depersonalization, and doesn't view himself as a complete person. he doesn't state his opinions on things unless they suit the other people involved, and he mirrors other people's actions more often than not.

he went into business, since that what his father did, and got piercings, since that what his best friend diego did, and dated madison because that's what she told him to do.he doesn't make his own decisions often if ever, until about halfway through the story.

he's scared of being too much of a hassle and driving people away, so the only person he's genuine around is his younger sister genny, and even then, he's very watered down and will back out of any action if he gets the feeling she doesn't like it.

if given the chance to disappear completely, he'd take it.

a short, fat trans woman with curly dark hair. due to autism, she comes across as very cold and dismissive at first, but she does really care for her friends a lot, even if she doesn't know how to show it.

she puts a lot of time and energy tracking her actions, to ensure that she is in fact a good person. good deeds get a point, bad deeds detract two. she's been in the positives for the last four years, so she doesn't understand why people don't like her.

she's been dating sean for two months, since he got home from college for summer vacation. she genuinely really loves him, but is scared of showing that genuinely, resorting to teasing and mocking him, which results in him being afraid of her, although she doesn't really understand that.

she grew up in a very miserable environment, used as a sort of proof of progressiveness by her politician father, a tool more than a child, but she kept telling herself that she didn't have it as bad as her brother.

if given the chance to take control of her environment, she'd probably do terrible things.
