What is DASA/Quota
DASA represents Direct Admission to Students Abroad. This Government of India has assigned the Educational Consultants of India Limited (Ed.CIL) as the planning organization for carrying on the DASA Scheme. Under this plan, deserving foreign nationals/Persons of Indian Origins (PIOs) and Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) are given direct admission to undergraduate Programs offered by the National Institutes of Technology and other funded institutes (other than IITs) and Punjab Engineering College, Chandigarh.
In other words, MHRD allowed a chance to all the Indian resident to seek after graduation who are residing abroad. Thus, DASA Scheme made it simpler for the engineering aspirant t apply for the UG Courses. Courses in NIT, IITs, CFIs of India, apart from IITs.

Eligibility Criteria for DASA

DASA/CIWG Eligibility Criteria

NRI Quota Eligibility Criteria –
As per the guidelines set by the supreme court of India, here are the eligibility criteria for NRI Quota.
·One of the parents must be an NRI residing abroad
·The person sponsoring the education must be an NRI residing outside India and a first-degree relation with the student
·In case of no parents/relatives, the guardian must be an NRI residing abroad and must treat the student like a ward backed up by an affidavit showing interest in the affairs and relationship with the student.
Nearest Relative can be defined as the real brother/sister of the parents, maternal or paternal grandparents, or first degree maternal and paternal cousins.
NRI Quota in Engineering Colleges –
NRI Quota is accessible in both government and private designing schools in India. In private colleges, for the most part NRIs wind up paying extra for the seat under the NRI Quota.
