I realized something last night about Psychonauts 2 that has me (lays on floor sobbing)

In retrospect it's very obvious but *I* only just now noticed (despite the number of times I've played/watched it), when they established early on "Psychonauts aren't here to change or fix people, we're here to help them fight their own battles" they meant it, because every other boss battle in a mind has had that person as an active and necessary participant

Compton is the one actually cooking the dishes that take the judges out, Helmut (&band) are freezing shadowMaligula, Cassie's archetypes are the ones throwing Raz the weapons to use and actually going in to take the librarian down, Nona is the one that makes the last cut to drop Maligula into her prison

(Bob isn't as active but his battle *does* still hinge on him admitting the negative thoughts he's been projecting on others are his own and breaking out of the self isolation he realizes has been harming him, not protecting him, thus taking the power from the moth)

I just really fuckin love Psychonauts 2 ........

My absolute favorite thing about revalink is how Revali doesn't treat Link like he's special. I think an aspect of appeal of other link-ships is that people are putting him on a pedestal; my personal hc of him is that he wanted nothing to do with this champion business nor does he want to be in the spotlight. So then enter Revali who's like "who is this punk?" and I think Link would at least be a little infatuated with him because of it. Someone who doesn't treat him like he's the magic savior of the world and is literally just some dude would be a breath of fresh air for him.
