Oh Allah, do not take us out of Ramadan unless You have fixed our situation, made our lives happy, forgiven our sins, accepted our prayers and fasting, and fulfilled what we wish for.

Last summer, a close friend/mentor of mine emailed me Muslim feminist and LGTBQI Muslim list of readings, as well as essential books and PDFs for the introduction to developing a woman of color feminist consciousness. I thought that I would share some of my favorite choices from this list, as they have seriously impacted me and helped me understand feminism in a new light.  Feel free to reblog and add on other essentials related to these topics :) I haven’t included everything so let me know if you want more!

hey there LGBTQ kids who are also Christian/Jewish! If you feel like you’re disobeying God, questioning your faith, or feel wrong and dirty for loving who you love, there’s this fantastic site I found today called hoperemains that accurately and thoroughly combs through scripture and its (many) mistranslations, validates your orientation, and basically let’s you know that you’re not pissing off God. It’s thorough and after reading through every page on the entire site it’s super helpful. Go check it out!
