Athena rubbed her eyes as Theo gave her some sort of instruction, trying to wipe the sleepy away. “Fine,” she mumbled, grabbing a bag off the hanger on her door. She tossed it onto her bed and began digging through her drawers. She began throwing in everything she needed– the clothes she would need, her hairbrush, and some deodorant. “Am I gonna have time to get a toothbrush on the way to wherever we’re going or do I have to grab my own?”

   “you’re not going to ask where we’re goind? or what we’re doing? instead you’re going to ask if you need a lousy toothbrush or not?” theo asked, significantly louder than he had previously. he didn’t care if he woke athena’s roommates up, that was the least bit of his worries at this point in time. “bring a toothbrush if you honestly need one.”

victoria. 

    why him? it was a simple question but it held so much weight the girl couldn’t just give him a simple answer. victoria carefully took his chin into her small hand and turned his head so that he’d be forced to look her in the eyes. “i’m sure it seems to you that out of all the people here it would be strange for me to choose you but theres a lot of things you just don’t understand. or you won’t accept when i tell you them because, i don’t know, you think i’m lying?”

    victoria placed a delicate kiss against his lips before continuing. “so why you? you drive me fucking nuts. and you may laugh and say i shouldn’t like you because of that… i do. you challenge me. you challenge me to think differently. you challenge me to live my life to the fullest because the gods know i’m not going to be around one day. you challenge me to do things because i really want to do them and not because someone else is forcing me to do it. and most of all you challenge me to love you for you. the mean but also very deep and wonderful theo that no one else gets to see. i’ve seen certain parts of you, parts no one else have gotten to witness, and i fall even deeper every time i see them. every time you give me that stupid fucking grin when i say something particularly witty… gods. i love when you do that. so there’s your answer. i chose you because you are everything i need. everything i want. as much as you hate this sort of shit and you don’t think you could ever love or whatever mumbo jumbo you’re about to tell me… i love you and chose you because you’re perfect for me.”

   what in the world was theo expecting to hear? “i don’t know” or “i just picked you”. no matter what theo thought was her explanation before she told him, it wasn’t anything he’d been expecting. sitting there he listened her go on and on about how he challenged her, how he changed her and this only made theo nervous. it made him stare into those pretty eyes of hers and just crumble. he hated himself for asking why she had chosen him because before theo could process what he was doing, he was picking up the smaller girl and setting her to the side before standing up. “the unfortunate part about all of this is i know you’re not lying and that’s what scares me.” taking a deep breath theo took a step back, jamming his hands into his pockets as he did. “it scares me even more because you love me. i am incapable of feeling love and i don’t necessarily think i can ever find myself in love.” theo’s green eyes were on victoria’s and all he could do was stare at her with an emotionless face. “i think we need to break up.”

athena.  

It was rare that Athena got sleep during the night. She was usually up dealing with nightmares or because she had taken too many catnaps throughout the day and was no longer tired by the time night rolled around. But here she was, sleeping. Warm under the covers, possibly even dreaming. It was too early to tell. But soon, she felt cold. She also heard what seemed like yelling, but at a low whisper. That was odd, because whenever her family wanted to yell at her, they didn’t even attempt to hide their anger from others. She opened up her eyes and saw a dark figure by her window. “Jesus, what the hell?” She mumbled, quickly getting out of bed and standing up. “Theo?” Athena rubbed her eyes, squinting as she looked towards the figure. She felt a bit uncomfortable due to her lack of clothing (although she had been wearing shorts and a tank top, she wasn’t the most secure with how she looked). “Jesus, what do you want this early?”

   it didn’t take theo very long to take a step back on theo’s behalf. not only to distance himself from the girl for his own comfort, but also to look her up and down quickly. although his green eyes ended up landing on athena’s face, with interest lingering inside. “what i want? this is what you wanted.” theo said, cocking his head slightly to the side before looking around the room. “i need you to pack a suitcase for two nights and three days. and do it quick. i don’t know how much longer i can hold off the ride.”

violet. 

“It’s not just any boy first of all.  It’s my brother.”

   “you are aware that i couldn’t give two shits about what or who you’re talking about, correct?”

elsie. 

“Seems like an easy enough task, although I’m going to ask what you need? Like, what you need the information for? Just so I can enhance my research.” Elsie wasn’t going to go into details about how her and Soleil were best friends, because he might’ve already known. Or, if he didn’t know, he wouldn’t let her do it. “Is the lord of the underworld known for his great painkillers or something?”

   “i need it for my own personal use, elsie. you don’t need to know more than that. and if you’re up for the test add the darkblooms onto the list.” theo just gave a shrug of his shoulders as he leaned back. “just secrets or things about them that most people don’t know. and don’t cross me either, elsie i’ll ruin you if you do.” his smile was small, but definitely there as he starred at the other. “eh, he known to cause pain that kills people, but i believe he has some good painkillers too.”

violet. 

“First of all I’m not a princess and even if I was talking to myself that’s the least of my problems.”

   “oh yes--- just by looking at you i can tell you’re not a princess. it’s a nickname though so don’t get your hopes up at all. --you’d rather worry about boys than you’re own mental health? i think this is the point where we stop talking to one another. i’m not a good guy so i can’t help you.”

“oh thats– thats alright. I’m sorry for bothering you then.”

   “bullshit you’re sorry.”

victoria. 

victoria rolled her eyes jokingly as theo set her in his lap. to be completely honest she wasn’t as cool or collected on the inside. her breath seemed to catch in her throat and she was grateful no squeak of surprise had escaped her. the blonde’s emerald eyes seemed to glow just a bit brighter as she watched him begin to lean forward. a soft hum escaped victorias body as well as a light chuckle, “i know you do.” she teased him before letting herself enjoy the light kisses he placed on her neck.

   theo was never the type to be curious, not about feelings anyways, or about other people-- not unless it benefited him in knowledge he could use against others. he also was never one to be insecure about how he looked or how he acted, but in front of victoria he knew he was almost a completely different person, much to his dismay. she was a weakness of sorts and as much as he hated that, he could never honestly hate her. so as his lips carefully grazed over her soft skin, theo quickly found himself pulling away and looking off to the side. “why me? out of the people here at the school?”

   awake. theo obelix just had to be awake at three am, the time in which there was always a pair of eyes on you no matter where you were-- whether the eyes belonged to a bug, a person, or even a ghost, they were definitely there. it seemed that this time though theo was the pair of eyes that was  starring at someone. that someone was athena riddle, a girl who told him that she wanted to learn about him. this was probably the only chance she was going to get for a long while, seeing as he didn’t want to climb through her window like this ever again. “athena---” theo whispered harshly as he went through the window, knocking a few things over as he did. “wake up,” his voice was low as to not wake up the other roommates of hers. it didn’t take him very long to walk over to the girl’s bed and yank the blanket off of her. “athena riddle wake the fuck up.”

“Why is he so frustrating.”

   “talking to yourself, princess? that’s no good you know.”

theo sat there watching the girl walk over only to sit next to him. even though he had spoken about not wanting to kiss her, that was a big fat lie. so instead of doing what he had made a big deal about, theo snuck an arm behind her just so that he could pick her up and set her on his lap. "when i say c'mere, i mean it." parting some of the blonde's hair away, theo didn't hesitate in starting to kiss the girls next softly. "i really fucking hate you sometimes," he mumbled.

raising two brows, theo only sat back into the couch, his green eyes watching her for a few moments. “c’mere.”

“yeah. well. sorry i’m such a nuisance. but…. fine. i’ll stay.” the girl huffed slightly before going to sit down.

“so i’m blondie again? just perfect. alright theo. have it your way. see you after new years.”

   “yeah you’re back to blondie because you’re being annoying. know what that word means? i might enjoy kissing you, i might enjoy teasing and messing with you. but i don’t always want to kiss you. that doesn’t mean i don’t enjoy your presence though.”

“no it isn’t. nothing about us is anything how i expected it to be. none of it at all. so am i to assume theres no kissing for years and years or some shit? expect you to want other girls and then whine because you’re stuck with me? im sure mollie would take you in a heartbeat. but no you won’t do that. cuz believe it or not dummkopf, you care about me too.”

   “careful, blondie, you’re treading on dangerous waters right now.”

“and what are we supposed to do about that? it seems the equation is harshly unbalanced. if you don’t even want me— fuck.”

   “funny--- nothing about us is an equation.”

“Um w-w-would you like to join me…. I don’t… I’m not saving a seat for anyone. D-don’t really have anyone to save it for.” Ollie gave a shy smile, “Um happy holidays. You know, if you celebrate.” 

   “no i wouldn’t like to join you. i’m not a very social person so i’ll pass on sitting next to you.”
