i should be finished by the end of today w/ my new blog, and then i'll start refollowing people i'm just super eepy bc i got traumatized by a fatass spider running a marathon on my neck and chest last night when i was trying to sleep so i got like 3hrs of sleep lmfao

alright, as i begin my transition to a new blog, i'm going to lay out some stuff here so there isn't any misunderstandings.

firstly, i won't be dropping any of my current threads. unless specifically requested, they're getting overhauled to the new blog. but if you'd prefer something new, just lmk

i will not be refollowing everyone. this isn't anything personal if you don't get a refollow from me ( and it doesn't mean i won't refollow you in the future ), but my biggest stress was having a large following and not really writing w/ people. partially on me ofc, but i also had a lot of people follow me first and then never reach out, so i'm going to be more strict with it this time around

"Yingxing" is his actual name. it's the name you'll know, the name he greets you with, and the name you'll always call him. it's the everyday man walking around and living a 'normal' life

42 years old, has owned his coffee shop for roughly 20 years. inherited it from his parents after their passing

the coffee shop is named 'HCQ Coffee' and this was not it's original name, but he chose to change it partially due to his poor relationship with his parents. 'HCQ' stands for 'High Cloud Quintet' which was the nickname that he and his group of friends had in high school

at present he, Jing Yuan, Dan Feng, Baiheng, Jingliu, and Yanqing are the employees. Yanqing is roughly 14 ( and Jing Yuan's adopted son ) and a recent addition after begging to work alongside his dad, wanting to make him proud

'mara-sickness' is a disease that is neither contagious nor easy to detect, but very rampant in the city of the Luofu. those afflicted with mara-sickness suffer from violent nightmares and psychosis. the only way you might know that someone is affected by it openly, is through the fact that it turns your eyes **gold**. symptoms do not typically appear in public, but are dealt with privately. at present every single worker, even Yanqing, is infected with it at HCQ Coffee

HCQ Coffee is sort of an asylum for Yingxing and his friends who otherwise struggle to get jobs, bc if someone finds out you have it, you're immediately shunned

HCQ Coffee does not open on days where the mara sickness is the worst, even if it's just for one person. some might think it's bad business not to open if just one worker is sick, but Yingxing cares deeply for his friends and does what he can to take care of them

those afflicted with mara-sickness do not have a definitive lifespan and can either die young, or live way too long. it's difficult to tell, but it's absolute hell on earth for the people who have it. you also stop aging once you're infected

it's believed that the mara-sickness was something developed by the government and spread to the people to keep them compliant through fear and suffering. there isn't any concrete evidence to support this theory, but there are several underground organizations dedicated to researching this

Yingxing is part of one of those organizations called "Mara Hunters", lead by a person named Elio who remains entirely shrouded in mystery. only a select few currently work under Elio ( Kafka, Firefly, Silver Wolf ) and are unusually loyal. this is because at present, only Elio shows signs of immunity to mara-sickness, and is even able to neutralize the effects of it. those who fulfill his orders are given temporary asylum by his powers and can live worry free until it starts to creep back up

"Ying Ren" is the moniker that Yingxing uses when working for Elio. his appearance is also changed by way of wearing red contacts as well as a wig of dark hair dyed red at the tips ( his hair is normally white ). not only is this a way to cover up his crimes, but should he be seen by someone he knows, they won't recognize him

the "Mara Hunters" are the ones most responsible for eliminating important figures of the government, usually those suspected of having ties to the development of mara-sickness. "Ying Ren" is responsible for at least 75% of their deaths and is a wanted criminal. however, nobody knows the name "Ying Ren" ( moniker used exclusively around his coworkers and people of other organizations ) so the government addresses him as "Blade" due to the ferocity of his sword

nobody in the HCQ knows that Yingxing is a mara hunter. everyone is pretty oblivious. Jing Yuan has suspicions due to accidentally overhearing a conversation he was having on his phone once, but Jing Yuan hasn't tried to pry. he doesn't want to face the truth if he can help it.

in this particular verse Yingxing is gender fluid ( i was originally writing him cis before i even decided to make him trans on tumblr ) and his style of dress sort of exudes this. he's pretty neutral in terms of style and will range from things that are more 'masculine' to more 'feminine' and everything in between. he's comfortable in his sexuality and appearance, and tends to present as more androgynous.

completely personalized headcanon revolving specifically around our ship: Sunday is a devout follower of Harmony who recently relocated to the Luofu with his sister. he set up a cathedral where he began preaching to people. his sermons were so popular even Yingxing was curious enough and started attending ( it was also partially due to the fact that Sunday would come into his shop every single day without fail to order coffee, so he got to know him through that ). it'll come later in the thread, but Sunday is also capable of neutralizing Yingxing's mara sickness, but may also hold the actual cure. this could make him a target of the government in the future

activity notice

i wanted to go ahead and post this before i head into work bc i've been marinating on it for roughly a week and while yes, i already am pretty low activity, there are some things i've been thinking about.

namely, i'm going to start putting myself on a schedule in order to fit in time for my hobbies, the things i want to do / get into, and the list of things i'm watching + going to be watching with some friends. part of the reason i'm doing this is not only bc i want to make time for everything i want to do ( read, play other games, draw, spend time with my pookies, go to the gym, cook, etc. ) but also bc i've found that setting up a schedule for myself as an AuDHD person helps me not get overwhelmed by the sheer thought of everything i want to do

so

that means you can expect me to be most active on weekends in terms of writing. i mean i kinda already said that in the past but yeah i'm more or less reinforcing the fact that a majority of my activity is gonna be on weekends. this doesn't mean i won't write during the week ( bc there are definitely some threads and things i have going currently that i know my ass is gonna reply to lightning fast ) but it's going to be sparse.

and i completely understand if this makes you not want to write with me. if you're impatient or would prefer faster rp partners, that's fine. there's no pressure to keep following me. just, for me personally, i want to start making time for my hobbies as well as the plans i have upcoming for the year. i'm going to a con later this year and i'll be meeting my bff for the first time in three years, so i plan to work longer hours at work too, meaning i'll get out later. i'm usually 10-3/4pm, but i may be staying as late as 5/6pm in order to amass extra income for us in November

i'm setting up a decent sleep schedule for myself too ( going to be around 10/11pm ) bc my body functions better that way and getting up earlier.
