listened to will wood’s discography more thoroughly lately due to my friend’s encouragement, and we talked abt how what that guy does with music is pretty damn cool. a lot of his work seems to be like a conversation with itself? like its kind of tilling over all kinds of philosophical discourse and starting with these really extreme and emotionally charged Statements and then deconstructing those statements… its very self-referential and self-critical and full of intentional oxymorons… overall the center of a lot of the dichotomies presented are between nihilism and anti-nihilism and its interesting bc a lot of his stuff seems to present itself in a very nihilistic way but then shifts to demanding the opposite. idk. his discography is just a very cool theatrical Text. good stuff
