As this past months, I have learned a lot. like the change of color above. It represents me. We cannot be stagnant, and we need to attain for growth.

This subject for me at first was really not interesting. Since as part of the Gen Z, I have a broad knowledge about technology. But after a while I knew and I realized that we should always seek for improvement.

Since then I realized to be more literate in the things I should do. I also learned about the history of technology and media. Which was a vital role in molding a character. My character. I asked myself, "where does this phone go through, what is its history?". Some of the questions that were answered along our lectures. Which was quite overwhelming.

As time goes by, there are a lot of developments and growth that are experienced by the people of the present. And still, we continue to grow.

We developed technology and enhanced our living. Some instrument developments were 3D specs. Which are very amusing and entertaining.

I learned that there are a lot of factors, where we can look for sources of information. It is up to us whether to use it. In a literate way. We should be mindful of our actions as citizens because we are the future. We make up and we should be an example to others.

Information can be found in any form. Whether be heard or seen. As time goes by we develop and create new beginnings.

In media, we can express ourselves. There are a lot of ways and medium we can do so.

Filming, photography, newspapers, internet, television are any other way. We can gather information through them.

We, as information seekers must be knowledgeable and literate on how to use the old and new media.

SEARCH FOR EQUALITY

Society is a major role in building one's character. It either makes you or break you. It has their standards for you to be accepted. But I realized, why change? I experienced a lot of discrimination, and at often times I only have myself. I cry every time, thinking what's wrong with me. Is it because I am fat? My skin complexion? My hair? Then what?

"you're fat, eat less", "ew you have curly hair", "pango", "you're a student athlete, but you are still fat", some of the things I keep on hearing. Eating me up every time. But why change, if God beautifully made me.

Our world is made diversely. That's why we have our differences. But it never degrades our worth as human beings. We need love and acceptance to lead us to a brighter future.

I never let those people bring me down. I trusted my faith in Him and gave me strength to pursue life.

But one thing that even hurt me more is that, I am questioned because of my sexuality. They will even come up to a statement in the bible to strengthen their belief. Which is truly a sign of homophobia. It's just love, there is nothing wrong with that. Shouldn't we love our neighbors just as how much we love ourselves.

I know God made me for a purpose. And as a proud member of the LGBTQIA+ community, I will continue to fight for equality. I will be a voice for those who cannot fight because of fear and judgment. We are EQUAL. Fight for what is right, Fight for ou rights.

SEARCH FOR EQUALITY

Society plays a vital role in molding pne's character. There are questions that keeps on running through my mind. "Do I have to live up to the standards of the society" "Am I not enough?".

I often feel diacriminated and there are a lot of things I hear from them, "you're ugly", "you're an athlete, but you are still fat. You should eat less", "ew, she has curly hair", "pango". I often felt alone and not accepted, moreover, I end up crying in my room, thinking what is wrong with me. Then I realized that God didn't create horrible creatures, instead He made it beautiful. I am a creation of God, therefore I am beautiful.

We should accept our differences because our world is diverse. Imagine living in a world, with the same faces, creatures, every single day. Isn't it just odd. We are different. We have our own unique way.

But once again, I am discriminated, not because of my appearance, but because of my sexuality. Some people will justify their belief with the verse on the bible, a woman is for a man, and a man is for a woman. They are justifying their belief just to provoke us. It is love. Isn't our love valid?

And stated in the bible that, "homosexuality isn't a sin". Some people said that it is our choice. If we choose to be this way, why would we choose the hard way? Being discriminated, degraded, even sentenced for crimes and death just because of being a homosexual.

Didn't the bible said that you should love your neighbors as much as you love yourself. In this era, we need to accept this. Because we are humans too. Our sexuality does not degrade us as human beings. We are just like you.

I, Sophia Beatrice B. De Castro, a proud member of the LGBTQIA+ community, continues to fight and search for equality. I know God made me for a purpose. I will use my voice to empower and to educate. Fight for those who can't because of fear and judgement. Fight for what is right, fight for our rights.

As time goes by, the evolution of media continues to improve. From printed, now to digital. As technology continues to grow, so do we. We become more creative and innovative in life. And the only thing that is constant is CHANGE.

I've learned that anyone can be a source of infotmation, especially on today's era, there are a lot of platforms we can use to spread information. As a dissiminator of information, we need to be mindful of our actions. Stop the spread of fake news and be knowledgable of the things that we should do. Anyone can be a fact checker. You can be one, too. Help stop spread of fake news.

Just like the song that goes " When the sharpest words wanna cut me down, I'm gonna send a flood, gonna drown them out. I am brave, I am bruised, I am who I'm meant to be this is me." I'm a girl who dreams big. Though there are a lot of hindrances and challenges that concur, I always seek to thrive for the best. I am a student-athlete, who works everyday. And just like a game, we don't always we win, but there's one thing. We either win or learn. A match lost doesn't mean that we lost, I consider it as a lesson to learn from. And I instill in my mind that life is a one hell of a roller coaster ride. But I will still choose to enjoy it, alongside those people around me, who supports me in everything that I do. I will always choose to overcome and not be overcomed by fear. Because I have them. ❤️ And I also have the Lord who is always there for me and guides me throughout my journey. I'm so blessed and thankful. 💓
