The long part :

I’ve never brought it up before due to imposter syndrome buuuut I figured I would try it this time around! I try not to ask for much here anymore, but it would mean a lot if you (yes you, sweet Reader) considered voting for me, an artist that aims to represent larger black bodies in burlesque's most glamorous and classic context, also a space where we historically have not been seen.

Basically to vote, you click on this link and name at least five (for instance me, Jezebelly AKA Iridessence) and up to nine other burlesque artists that are in your top ten list for whatever reasons you decide. You need an email to vote— voting is allowed once per person.

I know many of you have not seen me perform before— and to that end I would be happy to link you to public(1) clips(2) of my work(3) and thought process in the videos captions (4) (5) (6). I produce a show sometimes as well, when I can afford it. There’s no prize for making the list, but the influence can help one’s career.

anybody paying attention saw the rise in conservatism among the youth over the last few years. the return of the r slur, modesty/ tradwife content, rampant fatphobia, misogynistic twitch streamers...the writing was on the wall

*If you were put in a room with Gollum from Lord Of The Rings and told that if you have sex with him there is a 10% chance that this version of Gollum will be your perfect partner (all the traits, money, and emotional intelligence you have ever wanted in a partner) but that there’s a 90% chance that this is just normal canon Gollum and you have to live with that experience for the rest of your life.

For the entirety of the sex he will sound and behave like you would expect canon Gollum to sound and behave (which is, badly). He will reveal to you if he’s the 10% version only after the sex happens, think of it like a fairytale scenario where he’s testing your loyalty.
