October 25-31st - time for our 2nd annual DEAD SOULS WEEK, seven days of undead content culminating on that spookiest of days, halloween! A fitting event for this plague-iest of years, 2020.

Character Story - Nishikiyama [RGGO]

The way the RGGO cards work is that cards with the exact same character name, despite different rarities, will all connect to the same character story. That’s why we have “Kiryu” vs “Kiryu (JHS)”, which have totally separate stories. So the fact that I have 4 different Nishiki cards, 3 of them featuring Mean Nishiki, and yet they ALL connect to this one story taking place in the year 1990 is kinda upsetting (especially cuz wanting to see more of Nishiki was legit my reason for picking up RGGO :/ ).

Not to say there’s anything bad about 1990 Nishiki, it’s just that this card / story might be one of the very first ones on RGGO given how brief it is and the sprite’s anime-ish style (as opposed to the more detailed Mine or Tanimura cards, or the latest Dragon Engine-styled ones). So compared to those, the story here is pretty simple. BUT on the bright side, I recently acquired and finished the Nishiki JHS card, so i’ll do that next before the Daigo one :D

(And because the original card is Rare and looks kinda plain, i took the liberty of choosing the coolest-looking Mean Nishiki card there is:)

Story: The Dojima family does not take Nishiki’s insubordination and Kiryu’s return well.

I’m incredibly late and just realizing Yakuza: Like a Dragon is abbreviated to Yakuza: LAD and I can’t stop giggling.

It occurred to Kashiwagi that most of their conversations ended up feeling like interrogations, albeit mostly good-natured ones. Yayoi asked a lot of questions, and although she’d give away little details about herself if prompted, she rarely allowed a conversation to remain focused on her thoughts or opinions long enough for him to get a clear sense of what her deal was. “How does a lady like you end up married to Sohei Dojima?” he asked her.

“How does a pianist end up working for Shintaro Kazama?” she countered. “I get the feeling they’re similar stories. You first.”

dear readers, I have a new one-shot for you and it is NOT about old man tile games(!). if you like kashiwagi and you want to read a story about him having complicated feelings about work and his boss and his patriarch’s wife in the mid-70s, and you think it would be pretty sick to read about yayoi dojima violently assaulting a goon with a shoe in an m-rated fanfic, you may enjoy it???

(i don’t recommend reading this at work because of the violence and profanity, but this is a much softer, talkier fic than the last one)
