My next four blocks from Carol Doaks 50 Fabulous Paper Pieced Stars ... only 6 more to do then decisions have to be made ... sashing colour? Do I require more blocks to get to my size? Border or No border? and do I Quilt as I go or LongArm? So many decisons to complete a quilt. After putting so much work into this I don't want to make a wrong turn.

I have a thing for 'selvedges'! Here's my latest project ... an insulated Lunch Bag. It's 5" wide and about 10" square with a velcro closure. I still have so many selvedges left.

This is an odd little quilt. It measures 26 X 34" and is a specific measurement for an entry in our local Fair. All entries will be donated to Markham Stouffville District Hosptial NICU. The inspiration for this was a photo from an old Austrailian Quilting Magazine ... a full sized "Bug" quilt. The wonky jars each contain a different 'bug' and the back is crawling with little ants. I tried double sided binding for the first time ... it was much easier that I had thought it would be. I found a great tutorial on YouTube!

Just finished my "Hair Brained Happenings" wall hanging. I changed the hair style and colour from the pattern to my own and also changed the cat to my Bichon Nikko ... gone but not forgotten. Fabric samples are attached getting ready for our local Fair in September.

I recently started Carol Doak's "50 Fabulous Paper-Pieced Stars" ... my fabrics are all from what I have on hand ... I may have to supplement along the way. Here are the first 12 blocks ... only 38 to go. I have to try to introduce more greens and limit my use of pinks/rose. I'm using Carol's paper which, although somewhat expensive, makes the job much easier. I'm loving the "Add a 1/4 inch" ruler.

All three of these quilts are a donation to our Community Quilts Program. The small one was from donated 1/2 square triangles ... you can do so much with these. The one with Navy Binding was from donated Fat Quarters. I machine quilted the first and the Navy was longarmed by Barb Morrison. The last one was also quilted by Barb ... I love the pattern ... it stands out so nicely against the background. The individual blocks were donated ... I put them together with neutrals I had on hand ... you can't see from the photo but the sashings are diferent from the border ... some lucky individual will get this quilt!

This quilt was made up of leftover pieces from 6 different individual's quilts supplemented with some of my own neutrals. I love seeing what I can do with scraps. This was a donation to QUILTS OF VALOUR.

This is the quilt it made when expecting our son 48 years ago. At that time I was not a quilter. This was a pattern I found in a FAMILY CIRCLE MAGAZINE. Unfortunately, poly cotton was in vogue and I wasn't aware of 'quilting threat' so just used regular sewing thread. Over the years, with much use and laundering the threads all broke. I recently picked out all the old remaining threads and re-hand quilted it all ... what for ... I don't know ... no grandchildren!!! But I felt good restoring this piece.

The top photo was a quilt just using up 2 1/2 inch strips ... the bottom was a pattern 'Miss Rosie's RIDLEY'. I had a bundle of fat quarters to use up and added other fabrics from my stash. Was very pleased with the outcome ... unfortunately the light was not good when the photo was taken and has been given away to Community Care.

Had fun making this 'placemat' for a octagonal table with Kaffe fabrics. This is one side prior to quilting. It is reversible ... and was a Christmas gift. For some reason I can't find a photo of the reverse side.
