URGENT!!! MUTUAL AID REQUEST!!!
My passion for art and creativity lead me to the School of Visual Arts in New York City, which is where I study Cartooning. The school is amazing! I’ve met so many helpful and inspiring people, and I’m finally getting the opportunity to learn so much about an art form that means so much to me.
Unfortunately, I’m not able to afford tuition by myself. My parents can’t help me pay because of different medical issues in my family, and there’s no one else outside of them that I can turn to for help. Currently, I have an outstanding balance with the School of Visual Arts, and I must pay that off before I can even register for classes for the coming Fall semester. And while I am working two jobs to chip away at what I owe, I figured that setting up a GoFundMe could also help me with this endeavor.
(The goal I set for this is less than the true cost, but it would definitely help in making the price less daunting for me to pay. The true cost is a little over 10k.)
Comics is a unique form of storytelling. It’s when every panel on a page is its own pocket of illustration, when all of them, woven together, create riveting stories in a visual medium. It’s through my comics that I wish to write stories where marginalized groups are able to see themselves in a more positive light. Where people who are black, LGBT+, or both, can see themselves as heroes. For me, going to this school is one of the first steps to reaching that dream, and it would mean the world if you could help me.

A lot of people with childhood trauma (and, from my experience, especially attachment trauma) find themselves yearning for a parent figure. A mother, a savior - someone to hold you and love you in all the ways you needed when you were a child. Someone to hold you while you break into a million pieces.
At some point in recovery/therapy you will have to face the harsh reality: there will never be anyone. Not like that, not anymore. And mourning that? That’s too much, that feels like a pain that cannot be survived. A pain that will swallow you whole, a pain that will drown you.
Therapists can offer a lot of support, but not like that. So maybe you want to switch therapists in hopes of finding someone who can (even though, if they are a good therapist, they can’t), or you would rather be without therapists because then at least they won’t have to suffer the pain of “someone’s here but they’re not enough”. 
Getting a little support, a little of everything we missed, a little of everything we want… Getting a little is worse, in some ways. Because getting a little bit activates the pain; it triggers the feelings of what we miss. Dripping a couple drops of water in an empty bucket makes you feel how devastatingly empty that bucket is.
Getting nothing and being absolutely alone is dull. It’s a drag of depression and darkness. But getting a little bit but not everything? That’s sharp and flashing pain, it’s dry heaving from the heavy crying. It’s intrusive thoughts and self-destructive thoughts. It’s breaking apart again and again and again.

Why do we feel like we need to put ourselves into a box? Why do we limit ourselves? I want to be alternative and dark and intimidating but also soft and sweet and flowy. I want to bake cookies in floral dresses while listening to punk music and headbanging. Why does it feel like I have to choose?

JUSTICE FOR CASEY GOODSON
On December 4th, 2020, Casey Christian Goodson Jr. (23 years old) was shot three times in the back and murdered by a Sheriff’s Deputy as he was entering his home in Columbus, Ohio. Goodson’s family stated that he was returning home from a dentist appointment, holding a Subway sandwich, his face mask, and his keys, when he was shot.
Two days later, the Columbus Police Department made a statement alleging that James Meade, the deputy responsible for Goodson’s death, saw a man believed to be Goodson with a gun while driving. Meade then approached Goodson after he exited his car and walked home, where he was shot.
Hours after the shooting, the US Marshal for the Southern District of Ohio, Peter Tobin, confirmed that Goodson was not the fugitive they were searching for. However, Tobin also added that he believed that the shooting was justified, claiming that Goodson was shot after he refused to drop his “weapon.”
Yet another Black man murdered by the police.
DEMAND JUSTICE.

Someone reblogged one of my posts about being nonbinary with some hateful shit (blocked and reported them) and apparently that's their whole account it's like your_life_is_not_your_choice or whatever but bro imagine how much energy they spend on being mad about something that doesn't effect them in the slightest?? like to make a whole account to just reblog people's shit with rude comments??? There's a whole bunch of gender identities and sexualities on here that I've seen that I don't necessarily understand but I'm not going to say no you're wrong and dumb and that's made up like??? idc you do you as long as you aren't hurting anyone
