Sitting up, Gwen practically glared at him. "Looking out for me? Why? Why do you care what happens to me?" Standing she moved so she was standing in front of him, staring now at her hand that laid on his chest. "Your an assassin...You aren't supposed to care about other people or anything." She said before laying her head on his chest and practically curling into him. Her eyes closed as she rested her.

ââŠShit.â Wade mumbled after she had stormed upstairs. âGood job, idiot. Of all the fucking things..â Heaving a sigh, the merc trudged up the stairs after a few minutes after he had stopped hearing rustling coming from the upper level. He opened every door before finding the blonde curled up on a big, luxurious looking bed.
âGwen?â He leaned against the door post, not sure if moving in would be the right thing to do. Sheâd either climb all over him or sucker-punch him right in the mouth. Wade was leaning more towards the second option being chosen, so he played it safe. âIâm just looking out for you.â

Gwen stood then, bringing up the blankets with her. "God, it's like no one wants me." She grumbled, then storming from the room and up the stairs. Laying down on the bed she closed her eyes with a loud sigh. "Am I really just...that bad?"
She sighed a little bit before letting out another sob, curling up on her side with her face buried in a pillow. Her hands pulled the blankets up over her body so she was completely covered.

His lips pressed together in a thin line, and he stared at her for a moment, thinking of the right words to say. There really were no right words in a situation like this, and itâs not like Deadpool knew what to say to a heart-broken teenage girl right off the bat.
âIâŠâ He began, âI donât think thatâs something you want me to do. Gwen, I was ready to shoot you a while ago. You donât know what I do.â If it was hard for him to see her in so much emotional pain, he couldnât even imagine how she was truly feeling. âYou donât know what youâre saying right now, âcause youâre upset. Lay down, sleep. Get some rest.â

Taking the bag of chocolate, Gwen pulled out a piece and unwrapped it- immediately eating it up. "Thanks." She whispered softly to him, curling up closer to Wade. Being so close to him she felt safety and comfort, like he was her anchor to the Earth almost.
The fire had died down slightly, leaving the room dark with just a slight orange glow to him. Looking up at Wade, Gwen swallowed hard. "Kiss me?" She asked in a soft voice, watching him.

Wade stuffed his hand back into the bag of marshmallows and tossed her the bag of chocolate, figuring sheâd want it. In his experience, chocolate usually made women stop crying. That and ice cream. Ice cream always helped. Thank god for comfort foods, the merc thought, wishing he had a tub or two for himself right now.
âGo for it,â he replied, holding another marshmallow over the fire.

Gwen slowly opened her eyes and looked up at him, biting her bottom lip. âI justâŠIt hurts.â She whispered softly before taking ahold of his hands. âI should just forget it..forget all of it.â Taking a deep breath she then gave a gentle smile to Wade.
âCome on. Letâs just goâŠsit down and forget about him.â She said, trying to change the subject. Taking his hand she lead him to the other room and sat back down. âMay I ask something?â

He sighed, bringing his arms up around her like she asked. She shook and she cried and Wade cringed, this situation all too familiar to one years ago, when his old loverâs hold on her emotions broke and he held her through the night. The merc rested his chin on her head and rubbed her back gently, wondering what else could happen within the span of a day.
âSssshhh,â Wade cooed when a sob wracked her frame. He shook his head. âStop it, Gwen. You donât deserve to cry. Not âcause of him, not âcause of anybody.â

Gwen wrapped her arms around Wade's body and buried her face into his chest, beginning to cry heavily. She just couldn't believe that he had actually broken it off. True, she shouls be strong and not cry but she couldn't help it. The tears came out.Â
Eventually she had stopped crying but still held onto Wade tightly, head on his chest just like it was back in the living room. "H-Hold me?" She asked him in a shaky tone, needing every ounce of comfort that she could get.

âWhat, Spider-freak broke it off?â He asked, trying to ease back into normal conversation. When he lifted his head from his stare at the ground, Wade saw tears fall, and immediately cursed in reaction.
âShit,â He muttered, pushing off from his position leaning against the counter. He approached her with caution, suddenly feeling the urge to dart into the other room and grab his mask so he wouldnât have to face such strong emotions with direct contact. But this was no time to hide.
âDonât cry, Gwen,â He told her gently, his voice just above a whisper, barely a rasp. Picking up a tea-towel from the kitchen counter, the merc wiped her tears and placed both hands on her shoulders, squaring her up to him. âYouâre a good kid, nice and strong and probably really smart. Donât cry for him.â

Gwen stayed fast asleep until her cell-phone began to buzz and buzz. Groaning a little, she reached into her pocket and pressed it to her ear. "Hello?" She grumbled, slowly sitting up with a groggy look on her face. "Peter, hey...No, I'm stuck in a cabin. The blizzard got crazy." Then she froze, hearing Peter's next words. "W-What?"
Her throat grew dry and tears spilled onto her cheeks. He hadn't said that. She must have imagined it. No, it was real. All too real...especially the pain in her chest right around where her heart was. It felt like it was broken, shattered into a million pieces.
Peter Parker had just broken up with her.
Standing up, after hanging the phone up, Gwen made her way to the kitchen to fetch some chocolate when she saw Wade there. Immediately she did her best to hide her face but it was hard with her hair in a ponytail. Tears fell down her cheeks and continued to pour. Down to her cheeks and off her chin. Finally looking up at Wade, she forced a smile.
"W-Well...Looks like I'm single now."

Her words rang in his ears as she lay against him, lost in sleep.
âYouâre perfect.â
A knot in his chest formed and tightened, growing larger each time those words echoed off the insides of his head. Perfect. She thinks Wade Wilson is perfect. Those words didnât belong in the same sentence. They didnât belong in the same paragraph. They didnât even belong in the same goddamn book.
I murder for a living.
Wade glanced down at Gwen, whoâs looking so peaceful and sweet in her sleeping form. From what heâs learned, sheâs a genuine person with a big, accepting heart. Sheâs probably smart, too, because heâs been informed that she works at that great Oscorp place. She has a boyfriend, Spider-Man. Sheâs got a great life ahead of her.
Careful not to disturb her sleeping figure, Wade eases away from her and places her head on the pile of quilts and blankets, then retreats to the kitchen to think about the life he may have possibly ruined today.

Gwen had already eaten up hers, smiling happily. "It's perfect." She whispered softly to him as she laid back to rest her head against his chest. Moving a little she was curled up in his lap holding onto his shirt, head nuzzled into his chest. "Your perfect."
Within a few minutes she was fast asleep, pressed against him. It might seem odd, the way she interacted with Wade but to her it was normal. Yeah, it might be seen as a bit flirty and forward. Gwen didn't mind, especially not with the developing feelings she now.

He reached across for his own stick and stabbed a marshmallow through the top, then held it out towards the fire, twirling it around absentmindedly. After a few minutes it began to brown, so he flipped it over to the other side, let it cook, and then pulled out out of the fireâs reach. Squishing it between some chocolate and a pair of crackers, he took a bite, satisfied with the taste.
When was the last time I had smores? He thought, taking a curious look at the treat in his hands. Oh, right. Never.
âThese are damn good,â He finally spoke, reaching over to the bag of marshmallows, grabbing a few more. âHowâs yours?â

A light laugh escaped Gwen as she watched him sit there with a blank look on his face. "Cat got your tongue?" She asked him before grinning again, moving forward and wrapping her arms around his neck to give him a hug. Pulling him against her, her hand gently rubbed his back. "I didn't mean to make you not talk, Wade. I was just being honest." Pulling back form him she stood. "I'm a little hungry, I'll be right back."
Five minutes later she returned with two metal sticks, graham crackers, chocolate, and marshmallows. "I found some stuff for s'mores." Putting a marshmallow on her stick, she leaned against Wade's chest as she began to roast it.
She was so comfortable with him, anyone would see it as unbelievable. But it was true. There was something about Wade that caused Gwen to relax and let her walls down.
Deadpool & Gwen || AU
Well.
That was unexpected.
Of all the things that couldâve happened, for once, Wade got off easy. For once, he got the good stuff. Finally.
He stared at her, dumbfounded, not even sure of what to do next. His mouth slightly agape, he looked into her clear eyes, searching for something to convince him that she was lying or that she was scared. But there was nothing. Nothing but blue.
He didnât say anything because he didnât know what to say. Instead, he swallowed the lump in his throat and cleared his mind. He was spinning, all kinds of different emotions fluttering through his head; some polar opposites, some not. There was a turbulent war going on inside his brain, trying to decide just what he would do next, but no clear decision came.
One corner of his lips twitched upward into a small smile, but words could not be formed. For the first time, Wade Wilson is speechless.

Gwen sat up when he let go of her hand, causing a frown to come across her face. But then she understood exactly why he had. He was going to remove the mask. To give him time to think and a clear head, she fell silent and didn't touch him. It was clear he needed confidence to do what he was about to. Then he removed the mask and his face was revealed.
No scream game from Gwen or sign of disgust. Instead she moved so she was in front of him and could look at him more clearly. With a small smile she raised his eyes to meet hers. "I think you look perfect, Wade." She said sincerely with a grin on her face. Leaning forward she kissed his forehead then pulled back, smiling still.Â

âDo you really wanna see?â He asked, turning his gaze back to the fire. ââCause I can guarantee you thisâI ainât no Brad Pitt or Channing Tatum.â
Wade rested his elbows on his kneecaps and knotted his fingers together, removing his hand from hers. He remembered the last time he revealed his face willingly to another woman and shuddered. It wasnât really that he had insecurity issues about itâokay, maybe he did, just a littleâbut in all honesty, the merc believed if she saw his skin sheâd be scarred. Have nightmares. Scream. All that fancy stuff.
But maybe, just maybe, sheâd be different. That was the only thing he had to hold onto. Gwen already knew his name, so he might as well.
Letting out a large sigh, Wade un-tucked the fabric from his collar and pulled off his mask, the feeling of over-exposure sliding off with it. He bunched the red and black material in his hands and waited for repulsion to set in.

Hearing him speak, Gwen sat up immediately and looked at him. âWadeâŠItâs a nice name.â She whispered softly before grinning at him. âI like it. Wade Wilson.â She then laid back down and closed her eyes, trying to match a face to his name. But nothing she came up with seemed to match him like it should. So, she gave up. When he was ready, he would reveal himself.
Then she took his hand again and intertwined their fingers together. âWell, I am one step closer to getting to know you. All I need now is to see your face.â She said with a light laugh before moving so she laid on her back, looking up at him. "I'm not going to beg. When your ready, you'll show me."

Wade grabbed the quilt he had previously set down and draped it over her instead of leaving to get more. He could remain uncoveredâhis healing factor would keep his body temperature stable.
âItâs alright; Iâd never reject a lady on my lap,â The merc replied cheekily, letting her take his hand. The wind coming from the hole in the wall fought with the fire every now and then, causing it to grow and then shrink, and then grow out again. It was mesmerizing to watch. Looking down at her, Deadpool smiled. In a way, she reminded him of a woman he used to know, a woman who had once been very close to him, and in a way she was completely different from anyone he had met. Doesnât really make sense, but then again, neither does he.
âMy name is Wade Wilson.â

Gwen frowned then, feeling the cool breeze moving into the cabin now. Her reaction was not a normal one. She moved closer to Deadpool and laid her head in his lap, watching the fire closely. "There is some in the other room, in the closet. But I don't want to get up, I'm really comfy right here."Â
She then felt her cheeks grow red and hot as she took a deep breath. "I...I can move. If this makes you uncomfortable I can." With a smile she took his hand and held it as she lay there beside him.

âJesus Christâ!â Deadpool hollered as something barreled into the cabin wall. His senses were going crazy at this pointâthe blistering wind, the crackle of the fire, the chill of the winter air, the feeling of Gwen pressing into his chest.
He felt her shiver and brought up one of his hands to rub gentle soothing circles into her back, in an effort to calm her nerves. Something mustâve brokenâmaybe one of the wooden logs that made up the cabin walls had cracked, because a chilly breeze was now floating into the room. The warmth of the fire in front of the two was just barely enough to keep the roomâs atmosphere decent.
âLooks like weâll need more blankets,â He chuckled.

Sighing, she moved closer to Deapool and took one of his hands in hers. "I don't judge people based on looks or scars. And I will certainly not judge you." Gwen promised before kissing his cheek again. "I respect that you do not wish to show me but I do wish you would." With a small smile she let go of his hand then turned to the fire.
Her eyes stared at the flames as they flickered here and there, growing larger and shrinking. Her lips curled up at the ends but a sudden sound startled her. The howl of the wind screamed at the house and shook the walls, causing a tree outside to collapse down on the small garage of the cabin- which lucky was a few feet away from the living cabin. Gwen ducked and buried her face in Deadpool's chest as her body shook slightly from fear.
After a few minutes, after the howling had ceased, she still hadn't moved from his side. Her arms were around him as her head laid on his chest, eyes closed.
Gwen frowned as he pulled away from her and covered her face again. Sighing she nodded then leaned back where she was sittng. âI understand, Deadpool. We all have things that we want to hide.â Then she looked at the fire with blank looking eyes. âI have something to...

Gwen frowned as he pulled away from her and covered her face again. Sighing she nodded then leaned back where she was sittng. "I understand, Deadpool. We all have things that we want to hide." Then she looked at the fire with blank looking eyes. "I have something to hide." She moved her sleeve to show a large scar. "It happened when Connors was trashing Oscorp." With a shrug she glanced to him. "What are you hiding underneath that mask?" Her curiousity peaked as she stared at the bottom of the mask. "You can trust me you know. I won't judge you or anything."
Gwen gave a small smile at his question. âWell, my name is actually Gwendolyn but everyone just calls me Gwen.â She explained. Her eyes never left Deadpool. She had watched as he stared at the blanket like he was deep in thought. It worried her almost but it puzzled...
