you cant talk about not being a furry without some chucklefuck saying like “hehe not yet” or acting like you’re some kinda closet furry. girl i’m not ashamed of it. i’ve tried. and some furries are hot it’s just not my lifestyle. and i think that it is a lifestyle. just thinking renamon is hot doesn’t make you a furry that’s like insulting to real furries who caste their hearts in the iron forge of furryism. it’s a prestigious thing to be a furry

idk how “the world wasn’t built for us” turned into an example of shitty autism discourse when ever since I got my wheelchair I’m taking -1hp every fifteen minutes as I encounter another obstacle that could have been easily avoided with better architecture, interior design, urban planning, or management logistics

Hi friends, can I ask a favour?
I've been receiving updates from Maryam in Gaza (@mariam-gaza11 - vetted by association), and her family - including a newborn - is in dire need of help.
I've been sharing her posts and donating when I can, but since I'm on disability pension and my own country's cost of living is rising drastically it's not feasible for me to donate as often anymore. It would mean a lot to both of us if you could donate to her campaign here or share this post so it reaches people who can.
Here is an excerpt from her GoFundMe:
"I am Maryam from the Gaza Strip. I am 35 years old. I am married and have two children, Muhammad and Mahmoud. I am now seven months pregnant*. I was living happily with my husband and children in our beautiful house until October 7th came and the war on Gaza began. Because of the war, I lost everything: my home, my job, and my husband's work. We became homeless, and because of death that always follows us I was displaced with my husband and children with all feelings of fear and pain, escaping from the bombing and under the showers of bullets on foot."
*This section of the campaign description is out of date. Maryam has now given birth to her baby, but she is still living in a tent with no income to feed herself, her husband, and children, who have endured all kinds of injury, illness, and loss. As the IOF continues to hinder and even kill those providing aid in Gaza, it's getting harder and harder for Maryam and other Palestinians to afford food and treatment.
Thank you for reading and passing this on <3

Pay attention to the particulars of Mastercard's responses, because this a textbook example of how to create plausible deniability.
"Mastercard has not barred any legal transaction" is, technically, a true statement – because Mastercard is not the one processing the transactions in the first place. Mastercard does not deal directly with any merchant, and in fact typically refuses to communicate with merchants at all; there's always a payment processing service sitting in between Mastercard and the merchant, whether that's Stripe or Paypal or any of dozens of other service providers.
Consequently, there are two layers of service agreements in place: the agreement between Mastercard and the payment processing service, and the agreement between the payment processing service and the merchant. That second layer of service agreements, between the payment processing service and the merchant, is where all of these content restrictions are being imposed. Mastercard can thus truthfully claim that they aren't barring legal transactions.
Now, if you've been paying attention, you've probably already spotted the issue: if the content restrictions are being imposed upon the merchants by individual payment processing services and not by Mastercard, why do all of those payment processing services seem to have exactly the same content restrictions?
That's where the critical sleight of hand comes in: while Mastercard's own terms of service do not require payment processing services to bar transactions of particular types, their ToS does require payment processors to bar transactions which could be damaging to the Mastercard brand. What constitutes damage to the Mastercard brand is not defined; it means whatever Mastercard wants it to mean. The payment processing services are thus in a position where they can be held in breach of Mastercard's terms of service for basically any reason, which gives them a strong incentive not to test any boundaries.
And that's why Mastercard can truthfully say they have never barred any legal transaction: they're never the ones doing the blocking. The layer of payment processing services that sits between Mastercard and the merchants are enforcing those content restrictions, based on a series of unwritten handshake agreements between the payment processors and Mastercard regarding what does and does not constitute acceptable content – and because the particulars of those handshake agreements aren't in writing, Mastercard can assert that their terms of service do not compel payment processing services to bar any legal transaction and technically be telling the truth.

the problem. is not that breast augs and bbls and other plastic surgeries exist. the problem. is the beauty industry. we remember this, right? that plastic surgery in and of itself is not an inherently bad thing and people wanting them does not inherently make them vain? right? we're not going right back to the aughts where someone getting a nose job is a punch line in and of itself?? we ARE remembering this, right website full of queer people talking about how much they want gender affirming procedures, most of which categorically fall under cosmetic and plastic surgery??? we are not judging people for wanting to feel at home in their bodies but rather the system that tells them their bodies will never be enough????? right?????????

I'm so sad in such a strange way to hear about the Corporation for Public Broadcasting officially shutting down. It's a weird feeling. Most of it is the intellectual level of "oh this is SO fucking bad and terrifying that we'll no longer have federally supported public information channels anymore, it will ALL be through the private market, not to mention the stark reminder of the US government's continued descent into anti-intellectualism and fascism," all of which makes my stomach sink.
But on a smaller level it is the disappearance of something that was so ubiquitous to American childhood. I'm pretty sure the vast majority of Americans can hear the exact intonation of this phrase in their head: "This program made possible by the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, and by viewers like you. Thank you."
There is a lot more that could be said about the likely repercussions of this. In addition to being sad, I am also exceedingly furious. I wish despair upon all the Republicans who helped kill the CBP just because it took its mission seriously and refused to broadcast overt right-wing propaganda as news.

and for what its worth, while a do agree that all female casts in games and other art often arent done for feminist reasons, i also dont care. all male casts are done completely thoughtlessly because people dont even consider women so frankly i couldnt give a shit if an all female cast for less than perfect reasons. nobody is half as critical of all male casts.
