taking this opportunity to share my yuri wingspiker^4/ennotora!! plus some wingspiker^4 lore :]

okay so in the yuri wsverse a lot of it takes place during their college years. I’ve already written some ennotora centered fics in this universe but the other two are definitely there too!! I’ve given them different names as well; we’ve got yamamoto tatsuko, ennoshita chiharu, fukunaga sorashi (my personal fave COUGH) and tanaka ryui! tanaka’s name is subject to change but yea!! yamamoto and fukunaga work together in a coffee shop and it’s in this coffee shop where they meet ennoshita. I have yet to think abt where tanaka falls in this verse but its honestly just some slice of life scenarios put together :]

OKAY so I’ve always thought of wingspiker^4 getting together going like this: ennoshita and taketora live together and have been in a relationship for some time now and everything’s going swell!! THEN ennoshita and his coworkers attend one of fukunaga’s shows and when ennoshita and fukunaga meet post-show ennoshita kinda has a “oh shit he’s cute” moment. same goes for taketora and tanaka!!! taketora’s idk in some gym and tanaka comes up to him and he also has an oh shit moment. ALSO taketora and ennoshita have had crushes on tanaka and fukunaga respectively during their highschool years before getting over it, then crushing on each other and then getting together. the both of them are freaking out now like I like my bf but also?!!!! this other guy!!!??? and then kenma sits them down at some point like. You guys know polyamory is a thing right. AND BOOM!!!

sorry I don't know if it's okay for me to reply, but I'm so fascinated when I remember that a lot of people don't regularly encounter snow!! It's so cool how different human experiences can be!

But yeah, it's like a whole different vibe, because a. snow muffles sound b. there's a lot less people on the street bc it's very cold and the sun sets at like 4 pm. and usually you don't really notice the background noise on the street, like there's always SOME noise even if it seems quiet. so when that noise disappears, it's so weird. the perfect thing to do when it's like that is to take a walk and listen to some music, and then come home and drink some hot tea bc again. really cold lol

also it smells different! like when it snows for the first time, you go out and you're like yeah. winter smell. I'm sure some of it is that it's just unusually cold (it stings when you breathe), but still. the same for when it starts to melt, nothing better then to go out after some depressing winter days and to smell spring

I will never not love Spiderman: ATSV for making Pavitr so insistent on respecting Indian (and Asian in general) culture. Apart from the entire chai tea bit, his whole dialogue with Spot means so much to me.

“I’m on a journey of self-improvement!” “And you came to India.. that’s a western culture cliché. Don’t ‘eat, pray, love’ me, bro.” “No, no, no, no, no! I did not mean it like that.” “Let me guess, you wanna ask me about saffron, cardamom, and naan bread— which is the same as saying ‘bread bread’ which is the same as saying ‘chai tea’.” “Oh I love chai tea!” “No!”

This dialogue, means so much to me. Asian stereotypes and racism towards asians has been so dang normalised to the point that people will just dismiss it. I’ve called people out on racism towards asians before and have been met with people excusing themselves by saying they didn’t mean it ‘like that’, it was a tiny mistake, etc etc etc. It has come to the point where people will tell me to just ignore it. Some people will even get mad at me for being so bothered! And I’ve felt self-concious over standing up for my own culture.

Pavitr Prabhakar? He doesn’t feel that. The Spiderman: ATSV team made sure to include that dialogue, where Pavitr assumes Spot is being racist, because it’s happened so many times. He has every right to get mad about it. And it’s so, so refreshing to see how openly he does it and how welcome he is to do it. People will get mad at us for assuming but can you blame us?? Others living in and from third world countries know what I mean.

In this movie, Pavitr is so openly Indian and he openly calls people out on their racist stereotypes and it’s wonderful. The reason? That it’s been included, at all. That never does he get reprimanded for standing up for his culture. No one ever tells him “dude, chill. It was just a tiny mistake.” These tiny mistakes are the reason those stereotypes exist in the first place, cause people never give us a chance to even stand up for it.

It might seem like common sense for us to stand up for our culture, but trust me when I say a lot, a lot of people dismiss us for doing so, and will even say we’re being overdramatic. Buuut I’d rather not gonna go into that.

TLDR; Pavitr Prabhakar is great rep. Writers, take notes. Thank you, ATSV.
