it's kinda fucked up that after buffy died willow and tara just moved into her house and took custody of dawn without going through any legal process or even telling anyone she was dead. i know willow was always planning to resurect her and refused to entertain the idea that it wouldn't work, but that situation was not remotely sustainable even if the spell just took a little longer than it did. willow and tara were NOT PAYING THE BILLS on that big ass southern californian house. she came back FROM THE DEAD and willow was like "we spent all your money and the mortgage is defaulted as hell and no necessary repairs or maintenance work have been done and the robot we've been using to cover up your death is not doing a good job of pretending to be you because it was designed to be a sex toy and people are getting a little suspicious. anyway i know you have absolutely no employment qualifications but we need you to immediately get a job to support all of us because im sure as hell not gonna start working for a living 馃槉"
and they never really addressed this, money just stopped being mentioned. i know the show was made 20 years ago, but even back then i don't really buy that buffy was able to support four people with a job at discount mcdonalds. whole situation comes off as either a useless plot thread that got dropped pretty quick for being stupid or subtle ground work to show that willow is often an irresponsible asshole who's overconfident in her ability to fix all problems with magic despite her historically abysmal success rate.
