I took pictures of meat and they got published. Really.

I recently had some work grace the pages of 425 Magazine. I admittedly still rush to the store to see what these look like in print- every time. Turns me back into a kid in about five seconds. Back in school working for the Daily Evergreen I did the same thing, always grabbing the newspaper on my way to class.

After turning in some photos for a series, I never know how they will be used. It's fun to make some photos, send them to design professionals, pick up a tangible copy of it, and see how they chose to use it.

I'm always thankful for the people behind these photos, because they are the ones I credit with doing 99% of the work. They take pride in their professions and make beautiful food. I show up merely for one day with the goal of translating that to you in a photo.

The impressive thing about the space needle to me is that it was built in 1962, and now represents a culture and lifestyle in 2016. Transcendent design that a community can rally around. Can you dig it? (at Space Needle)

Sometimes people don't see your vision. That's fine! They aren't you. Some people think you're crazy for your ideas and outlook but hey- they thought that about the Wright brothers too and check out where I took this photograph from. I am reflecting on my trip to Pullman as I edit through some grad photos. WSU is great. You meet new people, inevitably see them everywhere, and make new friends in the process. Oh. And the 🍻🍺🍾 I'm thankful to have that place in my life! Go Cougs! (at WSU Bryan Hall)
