Have you ever imagined how the D/s aspect of your relationship will evolve when you are older? Of you are fortunate to be together when you are sixty of seventy years old (probably seems like an eternity away), wouldn't physical aspects such as spanking need some reconsideration? I may be jumping the gun here timewise but I imagine that is something that older D/s (and especially DD) couples or those with certain physical disabilities need to consider.
Honestly, I really haven't thought about it hardly at all. It does seem really far away to me still.
I guess we've been D/s about six years now, which I know isn't much esp when we're talking about what our relationship will look like 30 to 40 years from now.
At the same time, we've seen a lot of changes in our lives in the last six years. The last 3, in particular since my dad was diagnosed with terminal cancer, have been really challenging, the hardest of my adult life. And on top of the cancer there have been moves (for a while we lived with family), the pandemic has happened, both of our dogs died, CD had job changes that were significant, etc. Putting some of these things in a list like they're just some moment to note feels like I'm making making them into a grain of sand when they felt like nuclear bombs. I don't know how to communicate the challenges in a way that gives them enough weight.
Anyway. My larger point is...I don't mean to suggest that I am so experienced that I have it all figured out, or anything close to that. I definitely don't, I'm definitely still learning and growing in this all the time...and I expect that to always be the case, really. At the same time, we have had to to accommodate/adjust our D/s to the circumstances of our lives multiple times since starting D/s. You specifically asked about spanking and we went like 2 years with maybe four or five chances to do spanking, as we had such limited alone time/privacy. We significantly prefer to be able to make spanking happen (and fairly regularly) but it's not something we absolutely need. We won't crumble without it. If it can't happen, that sucks, but then it can't happen and we adjust. I do have a basic understanding of how my relationship and dynamic have to be adjustable depending on the circumstances both of the specific day we're living, and of the chapter of life that we're in...and we have enough experience with making those adjustments that I feel like I have some grasp on how to adapt to challenges in general which makes the idea of 'what about X phase of life?' whether that's age, or a future disability popping up, or whatever else, a bit less worrisome. I know we'll adjust, as we always do.

What is a 24/7 Dominant?
Someone that at 3am, will wake up for their partner, to get them thier meds if they can't sleep and are in pain.
Bring them fresh water and hydration to drink.
Massage the muscle groups that are causing tension.
Bring their pets to bed for snuggles and cuddles only to leave themselves that sliver of mattress that a wife and two dogs and cat can provide.
Someone that stays up until the sounds a regular breathing and light snoring can be heard.
In relationships, A Dominants responsibility doesn't end after the play. It is 24/7.

Men need to normalize having friendships with women without a sexual or romantic foundation. Some women are just really cool people to know, regardless of your attraction to them.

2 types of people
In my many years, I have determined one fact.
There are two types of people:
1 - Those who have been waiters/waitresses in a restaurant (this includes hostess, managers and cooks at a restaurant)
2 - Those who have not.
Now my questions is for all of you:
- How many of you understand what I am saying here? Those I assume are in category 1 and you have my respect.
- How many of those don't understand the significance of this?

Aren't you in a D/s relationship? How do you manage that without doing anything kinky in public? Or are you not 24-7? I'm not trying to be rude I'm genuinely curious
I am! We manage it easily, because Sir knows what he’s doing and isn’t an idiot or a creep! Without getting too into it here are examples:
I don’t open doors for myself
I don’t order my own food
I ask permission to do anything that requires me to leave his sight
If food needs to be dished out or something I serve him
I also arrange his napkin and utensils if necessary

He was abandoned by his father at 3 years old and grew up with 3 different stepfathers. He is dyslexic. His dream of becoming a hockey player was shattered by a serious accident. His daughter died at birth. His wife died in a car accident. His best friend, River Phoenix, died of an overdose. His sister has leukemia. And with everything that has happened, Keanu Reeves never misses an opportunity to help people in need. When he was filming the movie “The Lake House,” he overheard the conversation of two costume assistants; One cried because he would lose his house if he did not pay $20,000 and on the same day Keanu deposited the necessary amount in the woman’s bank account; He also donated stratospheric sums to hospitals. In 2010, on his birthday, Keanu walked into a bakery and bought a brioche with a single candle, ate it in front of the bakery, and offered coffee to people who stopped to talk to him. After winning astronomical sums for the Matrix trilogy, the actor donated more than $50 million to the staff who handled the costumes and special effects - the true heroes of the trilogy, as he called them. He also gave a Harley-Davidson to each of the stunt doubles. A total expense of several million dollars. And for many successful films, he has even given up 90% of his salary to allow the production to hire other stars. In 1997 some paparazzi found him walking one morning in the company of a homeless man in Los Angeles, listening to him and sharing his life for a few hours. Most stars when they make a charitable gesture they declare it to all the media. He has never claimed to be doing charity, he simply does it as a matter of moral principles and not to look better in the eyes of others. This man could buy everything, and instead every day he gets up and chooses one thing that cannot be bought: To be a good person ♥ https://ift.tt/2VwYsRq

“In 1984, when Ruth Coker Burks was 25 and a young mother living in Arkansas, she would often visit a hospital to care for a friend with cancer.
Tumblr media
During one visit, Ruth noticed the nurses would draw straws, afraid to go into one room, its door sealed by a big red bag. She asked why and the nurses told her the patient had AIDS.
On a repeat visit, and seeing the big red bag on the door, Ruth decided to disregard the warnings and sneaked into the room.
In the bed was a skeletal young man, who told Ruth he wanted to see his mother before he died. She left the room and told the nurses, who said, "Honey, his mother’s not coming. He’s been here six weeks. Nobody’s coming!”
Ruth called his mother anyway, who refused to come visit her son, who she described as a "sinner" and already dead to her, and that she wouldn't even claim his body when he died.
“I went back in his room and when I walked in, he said, "Oh, momma. I knew you’d come", and then he lifted his hand. And what was I going to do? So I took his hand. I said, "I’m here, honey. I’m here”, Ruth later recounted.
Ruth pulled a chair to his bedside, talked to him
and held his hand until he died 13 hours later.
After finally finding a funeral home that would his body, and paying for the cremation out of her own savings, Ruth buried his ashes on her family's large plot.
After this first encounter, Ruth cared for other patients. She would take them to appointments, obtain medications, apply for assistance, and even kept supplies of AIDS medications on hand, as some pharmacies would not carry them.
Ruth’s work soon became well known in the city and she received financial assistance from gay bars, "They would twirl up a drag show on Saturday night and here'd come the money. That's how we'd buy medicine, that's how we'd pay rent. If it hadn't been for the drag queens, I don't know what we would have done", Ruth said.
Over the next 30 years, Ruth cared for over 1,000 people and buried more than 40 on her family's plot most of whom were gay men whose families would not claim their ashes.
For this, Ruth has been nicknamed the 'Cemetery Angel'.”— by Ra-Ey Saley
