Here are my final Business cards. They feature my Manifesto questions on the front, and underneath, my answer. I love that they really pose a process to determining the answer; first, the user must read the question and ponder, before finally peeling back the strip of card to discover the gem of an answer underneath!

Here is the Front Design of my Business cards.
On the right there will be a tab that you peel back to reveal the answer to the question. I’m not sure how i’m gonna print these bad boys so this will be VERY interesting !!!!

My manifestation Will take the form of an online Game, Either to be engaged with by designers who are wanting/ trying to save the world with their designs...
Or possibly just for anyone, so they can see their belief system in front of them. The aim is to shock people with what they are believing and how it is affecting their and what they think.
This particular belief I will be examining is one that reflects my manifesto. IS THE WORLD FUCKED?
No... its constantly improving, however, each person will have a different belief, and some of them are pretty fucked up.
The questions/ statement that will be asked are yet to be determined, however, an example is “ there is more violence and war in the world right now” with the option of YES or NO. At the end of the survey (game) of 10 questions each answer will be given a value of 1 or 0, leaving the user with 10 different outcomes of their view of the world.....which i will then SHOCK or not shock, depending on their answers, the users by telling them how their belief is fucking up their life..... yes, I'm going to do that.....

These are my second mockups, still using a card and masking tape mockup materials.
I have two different ideas for this, One is the idea of having two options to a question, which is more a memoir of my manifestation, aiming to show the user their belief system and how what they are believing that is actually fucked... or not fucked, depending on their answer. However, the context will be that I am addressing designers who are trying to save the world as they believe the world needs to be saved. This idea is pretty cool because the way I layer the card and tape allows one answer to be revealed while not the other.
The next idea is more of a memoir of the manifesto, as my manifesto was a question/answer format. The card will pose a question for the designer who wants to design for a better world and needs to know how to actually create change in humans, then they will rip open the card to find the answer. Everything is better when you get users involved. So by allowing them to pull open the card and see the answer, they will be more inspired and engaged.

First attempts at promotional material for my manifestation.
At the moment I'm using cardboard and masking tape for these mockups. I’ve tried a couple of different techniques of layering the tape as I was finding the rips were too messy.
When I created serrations in the tape, it made the rip too pronounced and quite tacky looking.

Manifesto Final
My Manifesto; for any designer who is trying to save the world... Written in Question- Answer Format
SHOULD MY DESIGNS SAVE THE WORLD?
NO, because the world is NOT fucked
Our world has statistically LESS violence, LESS war, LESS slavery and LESS hunger and cares a whole lot MORE than any other time in humanities history EVER (Roser, 2014) SO It does NOT need YOU to save it… If you choose, your designs will contribute to the world's AND humanities constant improvement. BUT there’s a process and strategy required to SUCCESSFULLY design for an even BETTER world than already exists.
SHOULD MY FOCUS BE ON SUSTAINABLE DESIGN?
NO, because Sustainable Design is RUBBISH
ACTUALLY, it’s not rubbish, but as Einstein said “The world as we have created it is a process of our thinking. It cannot be changed without changing our thinking” (n.d.). So UNLESS we focus on CHANGING the beliefs, thinking and behaviours of the PEOPLE as a focus, all the sustainable designs in the WORLD will be an ineffective means to create change
WILL PEOPLE CHANGE WHEN THEY KNOW THE FACTS?
NO, because human beings are IRRATIONAL
We think we are designing for RATIONAL decision makers that will make RATIONAL decisions and form RATIONAL beliefs based on accurate FACTS…well, humans are NOT rational. Once we form a belief or opinion about something, it gets STUCK (Kolbert, 2017), so UNLESS you’re prepared to CHALLENGE established beliefs by ANY means necessary, DO NOT expect a societal change in a hurry.
HOW DO I CHALLENGE PEOPLE NICELY?
YOU DON’T, because NICE is the WORST thing you can be
You are NOT serving ANYONE by playing the nice guy, tiptoeing around people’s flaws and shortcomings. If being gentle worked well as a strategy, there would be no predicament what is RIGHT, ADDRESS the elephant that is CLEARLY the room; EXPOSE the harsh truths, don’t be afraid to poke a button and say it like it is. They can ONLY take responsibility and make a change if YOU point out their shortfalls in the first place!
OKAY, WELL HOW DO I CHALLENGE PEOPLE SUCCESSFULLY?
PROVOKE or you WILL fail!
CHALLENGE the status quo; CAPTURE the audience’s attention with RUTHLESS means if necessary. OFFEND them with previously unspoken truths if you have to! Spark an internal DEBATE. Use PROVOCATIVE and CRITICAL design methods, which throw socio-cultural norms, values and assumptions under the bus (Ozkaramanli & Desmet, 2016). Make people QUESTION.
WHAT IF OTHER PEOPLE JUDGE ME FOR DEVIATING?
DON’T give a flying FUCK
Obligations, duty, social conventions, fuck it! Find your greatness, design whatever the FUCK you want, who gives a flying FUCK what other people think of you or think you should be doing. At the end of the day, it’s YOUR life.
HOW CAN SPECIFICALLY I APPEAL TO THE AUDIENCE I AM DESIGNING FOR?
Speak to their inner CHILD
Inside EVERY human is NOT a boring accountant, an unhappy salesman OR a grumpy lawyer. NOR is it someone angry at life for dealing them a bad hand. Inside every human being is a little boy or little girl who believes they are FUCKING AWESOME, has BIG dreams, believes ANYTHING is possible and TRUSTS in the world. If you want the world to be BETTER, bring out humanities better selves, and design for the Inner Child!
HOW WILL I JUDGE IF MY DESIGN IS GOOD?
If you’re NOT proud, it’s SHIT, keep going
If YOU don’t believe in your designs, WHY should anyone else? DON’T stop iterating until you can look at what you’ve designed and feel inside your BONES that you’ve done an AWESOME fucking job. A GOOD design is one you are PROUD of.

Mansfesto Iteration
The World isn’t fucked
And it doesn’t need saving! Despite what you may think, the world has statistically less violence, war, slavery and hunger than any other time in humanities history (Roser, 2014) we only have to make it better.
Human beings are Irrational
We think we are designing for rational decision makers that will make decisions and form beliefs based on the facts…well humans are not. Once beliefs are formed they get stuck (Kolbert, 2017), so unless you’re prepared to challenge established beliefs by any means necessary, their not going anywhere in a hurry.
Sustainable Design is Rubbish
Actually, it's not, but as einstein said “ The world as we have created it is a process of our thinking. It cannot be changed without changing our thinking” (n.d.). So unless we focus on changing the beliefs and behaviours of the people, all the sustainable designs in the world will not be effective
Nice is the worst thing you can be
You are not serving anyone by being nice to them. Do what's right, address the elephant in the room; expose the truth, don’t be afraid to poke a button and tell people when they are doing something wrong. They can only take responsibility and make a change if you point out their shortfalls in the first place!
Don’t give a flying fuck, be selfish and start with you
Obligations, duty, social conventions, fuck it! Design what you want, who cares what other people think of you or think you should be doing. and yes, we have an ego! It's okay! we wouldn’t survive without a sense of self, put your needs first and don’t try to save the world without first saving yourself.
Design for the Inner Child
inside every human is not a boring accountant, an unhappy salesman or a grumpy lawyer…stuck in a boring routine, angry that life dealt them a bad hand and drowning their sorrows in bad reality TV. Make designs which speak to that little boy or girl inside everyone who dreamed BIG, believed anything was possible and trusted in the world. If you want the world to be better, bring out humanities better selves!
If your not proud, it’s shit, keep going
If you don’t believe in your designs, why should anyone else? Don’t stop iterating until you can look at what you’ve designed and feel you’ve done an awesome fucking job of what you have made. A good design is one you are proud of.
Provoke or you WILL fail!
challenge the status quo, capture the audience’s attention with RUTHLESS means if necessary. Offend them with unspken realities if you have to! Spark an internal debate, provoke provoke provoke. Beliefs aren’t going to change themselves

Edited Manifesto
I’ve refined my manifesto and really put thought into the wording and the flow of the points. I’m pretty darn happy with it right now; starting with points for the designer to know ‘philosophies’, moving on to things to think about when they're designing, and lastly, to PROVOKE! or there’s no point, cause you won’t spark change
A need to know for any designer who wants to change the world:
The World isn’t fucked
Sustainable Design is rubbish
Nice is the worst thing you can be
Don’t give a flying fuck
Be selfish and start with you
Trust there’s an inner child
If your not proud, it's shit, keep going
Provoke or you WILL fail!

Manifesto Draft
So for my draft i’m throwing together all my ideas, but i know here not refined, and i have BIG TROUBLE with refining my ideas!! its what stops me from getting the marks and the quality of work i really want, so this week i have to narrow down!! - right now i’m half talking about how designers should think, and half talking about how they should design?
QUESTION AND PROVOKE
challenge the status quo, capture the audience's attention with RUTHLESS means if necessary, the truth will be enough to do this, not the truth about the world going to sh*t, the truth about themselves. Offend them with their truth if you have to! Spark an internal debate, provoke provoke provoke. Beliefs aren’t going to change themselves
DON’T BE NICE
they say those good friends will tell you your butt doesn’t look big in that, but best friends will tell you the truth. Create design like you're a best friend, don’t tiptoe around the elephant in the room, people can’t take responsibility change unless you point out what they're doing wrong. Expose the truth, don’t be afraid to poke buttons, its the only way people will become aware of their shortfalls
CHANGE IS INEVITABLE
As humans, we are inevitably afraid of change. Don’t stay in the habit of the familiar in life or in designing, change is new life, don’t be afraid to let go, of ideas or ways of working or beliefs
PRIORITISE NUMBER 1!
We have an ego! its okay! we wouldn’t survive without a sense of self, but your needs first and don’t try to save he world without first saving yourself
SUSTAINABLE DESIGN DOESN’T MAKE A SUSTAINABLE WORLD
making sustainable design is all good and well, but unsustainable designs didn’t make themselves in the first place, people did. And unless you change the way people think, what they believe and how they behave, all the sustainable designs in the world won’t save us!
REMEMBER, HUMANS ARE LIKE STUBBORN CHILDREN
We think we are rational decision makers...well we’re not. Once we form a belief it gets stuck, so unless you’re prepared to challenge established beliefs, their not going anywhere in a hurry.
DESIGN FOR THE LITTLE BOY AND LITTLE GIRL
inside every human is not a boring accountant, an unhappy salesman or a grumpy lawyer...stuck in a boring routine, angry that life dealt them a bad hand and drowning their sorrows in bad reality TV NOOOOOO! inside everyone is that little boy or girl who dreamed BIG, believed anything was possible and trusted in the world. Design to bring this back out of people, its there! its just buried under stupid beliefs.
BE THE CHANGE YOU WISH TO SEE
AIM HIGH

Literary Review
A comparative review of Critical Design and its relation to mass-market products
A comparative review of critical design explores the role critical design could hold within the mass produced market. The essay examines the idea that critical design is not anti-mass production, but that society is not ready for the reality of discourse that follows it, and therefore cannot yet be mass reproduced. The most interesting point in this essay for me is the author’s observation that Critical design is able to speak to a wide audience and address societal issues not normally addressed by design also saying “design can often view people as obedient and predictable users while critical design engages with people and their complex emotions”. This essay talks about the current situation of critical design, saying that its contemporary discipline is becoming more accessible and mainstream meaning it is reaching a wider audience and its potential is opening up. This essay's main finding is that critical design is becoming a more accessible medium and one which challenges social norms, creates discourse and engages with people’s emotions supports perfectly my perspective that provocative design is a catalyst for internal change. Current design practices don’t challenge our beliefs, but according to this writing, critical design when mass produced, will stir emotions and challenge exciting realities.
