A local and international movie poster of 2018.
September 26, 2018
In this entry, I am going to review two movie posters. A local and an international movie poster in 2018. How do you know or have the urge to watch a certain movie? Through a trailer? The movie poster? Or through any artist promotions? Any one of these ways, there must be a pulling point that makes you want to watch a movie. If a movie poster is not attractive, I am sure you have less interest to watch the movie. So there are many factors for a movie to spike up the rank.
1) Maze Runner: The Death Cure.
This is an international movie poster that gets a high spot in the Hollywood. For me, this movie gets high publicity is because it is a sequel and adapted from a novel. Thus readers are looking forward to watch the movie. For me, this movie poster is easy to digest. It has a typeface that is easy to read. The background also does not distract too much but it delivers what we are going to expect in the movie. It shows the scene of the movie and a little of the story line.
2) Blue Tears.
This is a local movie poster that does not get high demand in the country itself. For me, this movie poster does not deliver any message if you do not know where and what happens in this picture, you will question what is this blue tears is about. It is a natural phenomenon that happens in Miri, Sarawak where blue plankton comes to the shore and looks like blue tears. The poster does not attract me to watch the movie but it may attract others that are curious about the title.

Sans-serif typefaces first originated in the eighteenth century but didn’t see widespread use until the nineteenth century. In the print world, serif typeface are almost universally used for setting running body text, however, on the web, sans-serifs dominate. On lower-resolution displays, sans-serifs tend to display better, however, higher-resolution displays can better handle the fine details of serifs.
The 4 Sans-serif typeface that I like is Apercu, Proxima Nova, Brandon Grotesque, and GT Walsheim. The reason why I like these typeface is because the style is simple and looks neat.
Serif typefaces tend to be thought of as classic and traditional, whereas sans-serif typefaces are thought of as more modern and contemporary. The fine details of serifs, especially the more delicate and high-contrast designs, don’t always display well on screens, especially at small sizes on low-resolution displays. I think all of this will change in the next few years though as high-resolution screens are becoming more common.
The 4 Serif typeface that I like is Garamond, Calluna, Minion, and GT Sectra. The reason why I like these typeface is because it has a elegant style to it and looks a little fancy.

IS ZEBRA BLACK ON WHITE STRIPES OR WHITE ON BLACK STRIPES?
It was previously believed that zebras were white animals with black stripes, since some zebras have white underbellies. Embryological evidence, however, shows that the animal's background color is black and the white stripes and bellies are additions. It is likely that the stripes are caused by a combination of factors. The stripes are typically vertical on the head, neck, forequarters, and main body, with horizontal stripes at the rear and on the legs of the animal.
Genetics determine the variety of stripes in zebras. While the specific processing of determining this striping pattern isn't known, it has something to do with selective pigmentation. Melanocyte skin cells produce the pigments that color the fur.
So which is it? Is a zebra black or white? While there are plenty of conflicting theories on this matter, the generally agreed-upon consensus is that this native African animal is black with white stripes. This is consistent with the theory of pigment activation and inhibition. Zebras’ actual skin is black, with its black fur coat produced by pigment activation, and the white patches on its back are areas that lack pigmentation (inhibition).
