Mario is my favorite character in the movie, he's so cute and brave.. I understand him a little bit because he's an older brother since I'm an older sister too and I don't like it when someone it bothers my little brother and also the fact that I'm very small like him lol

He is my comfort character and I love him with all my heart. 😭😭❤️❤️

Just discovered that Travis Ruiz, one of the Mario Movie's artists, had posted more concept art online.

And...

I am in love.

It's really annoying that whenever I depict Mario with insecurities and/or anxiety, I always get a comment that says, "that's Luigi's thing tho."

Or even when the Mario Movie came out and leaned into depicting Mario as such, there were people going, "this arc fits more for Luigi."

(Not bashing the people who rewrite the movie to put Luigi in Mario's place for a reason that doesn't match the issue above, of course.)

As if just because Mario is depicted as this confident character, he can only stay as that confident character. He has to be confident all the time, 24/7, and any attempt to deviate from that now makes it "Luigi's thing."

I'm sorry, but. Do you know how boring that sounds.

First of all, Luigi does not claim insecurity and anxiety. Those are human attributes that any character can have.

Second of all, and this one is important:

What if! It's more interesting for Mario's character if he wasn't so confident all the time!

Crazy idea, I know.

I just want Mario to be able to be given some depth without people pointing fingers towards Luigi.
