You ever like. Write a fic. And it's just like, some silly little idea that popped up into your mind. You got it down and post it and for some reason people read it and like it? And it's just like, oh, that's just me vomiting my brain onto the screen, I didn't think anybody would actually want to read it.

I need to get back to Daddy Recruiter. I've taken a few weeks break, but I miss writing it.

I've been thinking lately about how the Recruiter has his own set of ethics. I don't think he would sexually proposition any of the players like some people have suggested. I think he would see that as "sullying" the games. I think he's too obsessed with fairness to interrupt the games in any way. If he either offered money for sex, some other sort of favor for sex, or just outright non-conned a potential player, it would be a breach of ethics on his part. Either giving them an advantage or a disadvantage depending on the circumstance.

But outside of the games?

Honestly, I'm not sure.

It could go several ways.

1. He's non-sexual. I'm not saying he's asexual, he might just jerk off to the memories of fucking people over, but the idea of him having sex with "trash" is too disgusting to consider.

2. He only has sex with superiors like the Frontman - he won't allow anybody to touch him except those he sees at least equal if not superior to himself

3. Dead opposite. He sees humans as trash and free to use as he wishes. I think this version would fuck a lot of hookers. He wouldn't go out looking for dates at clubs or anything obviously. Imagine the Recruiter clubbing lol

4. He's married. Very, very, very unlikely. But imagine he's in like a loveless arranged marriage. I think he'd have a sex routine, like every Wednesday at 10:20 for five minutes. She'd be horrified by this guy she lives with but eh. (The teaser trailer pretty much negates this one but eh.)

5. He's a groomer lulz

Obviously the last one is specific to my fic. What I like about this one is the idea that he wouldn't trust having sex with some random person but felt like he would need to raise a proper vessel. Like somebody who will only eat their own home grown produce/meat. I don't think gender mattered to him in this, it wouldn't have mattered if Nam-gyu had been male or female, everything would have gone down exactly the same. That said, I don't think he planned on grooming a future lover from the beginning in this specific instance, but I like the idea of him doing so in a different universe. That he raised a little human from birth to be "immaculate" to serve as his lover.

Anyway, I don't think that idea works for the fic since Nam-gyu came from a player and therefore would be too sullied from the beginning. I think if he was going to steal a baby to raise for that purpose specifically he would have hunted down a superior subject to start with. Probably a pregnant opera singer or something.

The way I started writing fics set within the games. Then I moved to them being outside the games but adjacent to them (mostly because of the proximity of the Recruiter.) and now I'm just like, full on AU the games don't exist or if they do they have absolutely no relation to Thangyu, mode with this fic.

Kinda starting to miss writing something set in the games, might have to step back inside again.

Also, I obviously won't be taking part in Thangyu week. I only take part in explicitly disgusting and vile events.

I find it funny that so many of the accounts out there posting Squid Game content has matching names and icons to go along with the show then you have me with my 90s cartoon plant duck theme being the one spamming the tag with pics.

It amuses me to see so many people using my gifs in their posts but especially the like, x Reader stuff. I've never been into that genre but I know a lot of people are and anybody out there writing/posting it knows they're safe using my images. As long as you're creating and writing I'll never judge you. Yes, that even goes for anti-shippers, I'll never call out anybody for using any pics I post on here. It's always best for our community to get along.

Making gifs is what I do when I wanna be somewhat creative but my mind is too tired to write.

That said, I did get about 3000 words down of the Sang-min/Nam-gyu fic before the weekend and maybe a 1000 of the Daddy Recruiter fic so I'll get back to it tomorrow.

Note: If/when I post the Sang-min/Nam-gyu fic it might be in shorter chapters as I don't want to get caught up writing another long chapter fic when I have Daddy Recruiter to work on. So maybe like 5000 words here or there.

(Please note the serial killer Nam-gyu fic was only supposed to be about 10,000 in all 😅 )

Spent hours finishing my fic then did a nice long hike with my dogs. Time for a bath bomb, beer, and Dexter reruns. Yes, all at the same time, girl's gotta treat herself.

Oddly, the most difficult part for me about writing for Squid Game is I have no knowledge about Korea. I've never watched any kdramas, I've never listened to kpop. The only Korean culture I know basically is Korean bbq and soju.

EXCEPT, funny enough, I went through a short hyperfixation regarding North Korea about a year ago. I read a bunch of books and bios on it. Watched documentaries on it. Watched YouTube videos of non-Koreans living there.

So I know nothing about Seoul, but I might be able to write a half-plausible fic set in Pyongyang.
