Hello! I am a new hire working as a Student Services Specialist at an equity focused school, mainly working with low-income and underrepresented students! This means I work with high schoolers as they complete their internships/work study as well as college applications! Most of our students have low confidence in their options for the future due to their circumstances, so I want to give them the best chance they have to be successful in their own way. I am currently raising money to create an inviting office space to have 1:1s with my students as they navigate post high school options, as well as provide them with all the resources and tools necessary for their success.
Currently my office is really bland, and as I continue to connect with students throughout the school year I want to make sure they have a safe space to come talk to me for whatever they may need.
Here is my blurb for my "Self-Care Corner" project.
Applying for colleges is a very stressful time for students. As we work to support them and have these hard conversations with them some tears and frustrations have been shared. I believe that it would be incredibly beneficial for them to be able to destress and have more comforting items available for them to use at their discretion as they apply and have these meetings.
College is hard and students need a way to destress.
Our most important goal is to set students up for success - which means something different for each of them. We still require them to apply to colleges as a backup, and with financial aid talks and amidst the overwhelming application process, these students could really use materials that helps support them in self-care and promoting good mental well-being.
Right now, while funds last, ALL DONATIONS ARE BEING MATCHED. This means, if you donate $20, I will receive $40!
Donations will be matched on the "Self Care Corner" project until September 20th if you use the code LIFTOFF! But please feel free to look at the other projects and donate to those if you can as well
Any donation helps!! Also feel free to share this with a reblog, a link to social media (Facebook, Twitter, Insta, Tiktok, whatever) - it will help tons!

Getting Fit & Staying Consistent
When it comes to staying consistent with your exercise routine, discipline✨ is much more effective than motivation.
It’s easy to feel motivated when you first decide to become a Fit Girl and start working out. But that excitement can quickly fade if you don’t have the discipline to stick with it.
Discipline allows you to power through even on days when you don’t feel motivated to rise and shine🌟. It’s the key to maintaining a consistent exercise routine and achieving long-term success on all levels.
If you want to develop self-discipline when it comes to exercising, there are a few things you can do:
First of all, set yourself achievable goals✅ and rewards🏆 for reaching them. This will give you something to work towards, and the satisfaction of knowing that you achieved something.
Secondly, it’s important to stay organized and plan out your workouts📆 ahead of time so that you can be sure to stick to them.
Finally, make sure you set aside dedicated exercise time each day – this is essential for developing discipline and consistency.🏋️♀️
Having an accountability partner👭 is another great way to stay disciplined with exercise. Having someone to keep you accountable can help you stay on track and reach your goals.
You can also join an online community of other Fit Girls (such as TikTok and Instagram fitness accounts). Having the support of others in the same situation as you will keep you engaged, even when motivation might be hard to find.
Discipline is essential for achieving long-term success💖 when it comes to exercise and becoming fit. It can be difficult to stick with your routine, but if you set achievable goals, stay organized and motivated, and have a support system in place, you’ll be able to develop the discipline necessary for consistent exercising and ultimate success.
Good luck!

30 Days of Discipline
My exam is about 3.5 months away. And I have realised that a proper routine is the only way to effectively cover my syllabus & revise it. Hence this challenge.
The routine I have in mind is:
Wake up at 9. Bathing/Breakfast/Meditation/Planning from 9 to 12. Followed by 1-2 hours long study slots with small breaks till 8. Aim is to get at least 6 hours worth of studying out of these 8. From 8 to 9, time will be spent on performing my daily spiritual ritual of reading. Dinner from 9 to 10. Another two hours long study slot from 10 to 12. Followed by two hours of leisure and hobbies from 12 to 2. And then off to bed at 2 AM.
My routine has been more or less the same for some time. I only need to make it more concentrated now.
I shall start the challenge tomorrow- 13 February, 2023. I intend to be consistent in posting daily updates here, and track how much I stuck to schedule.

minimalist self-care habits
One of the biggest misconceptions about taking care of yourself is the systematic and erroneous association of self-care with extreme consumerism. This idea conveys the image of self-care as something reserved to those who can afford it. The truth is, and many already know this, there are countless ways to be good to yourself without spending more than necessary.
☐ Get enough sleep. A child would need 10 to 12 hours of sleep per night. The average is between 7 and 9 hours for an adult. I can never say it enough, but sleep is an important part of our lives. Value it highly. It's an elementary need: not getting enough sleep puts us at risk of developing numerous chronic diseases: such as high blood pressure, diabetes, heart failure, coronary heart disease and some types of cancer. You are also more likely to suffer a stroke.
☐ Turn the volume down. Since I'm riding the wave of how we 21st century people are neglecting our health, I also want to stress the importance of auditory health. If, like me, you love to spend hours with headphones on, consider turning down the volume. I know it's much more enjoyable to experience it fully, but having gone through the terrible experience of tinnitus, I bitterly regret it. There is a simple way to track your auditory health: please check your smartphone's headphone safety features.
☐ Don't neglect your medical appointments. I have always been very anxious about it. Not to the point of pulling my hair out, but I used to postpone my appointment so much that I sometimes forgot why I even wanted to go. There are countless of reasons why we may not like to go to the doctor, but the truth is that health issues simply cannot wait. It is equally important to go see your doctor even if you think you are in perfect condition.
☐ Be physically active. Always keep in mind that your body, like your mind, needs to be stimulated. Besides allowing you to manage your weight more effectively, sport improve your brain health, reduces health risks and strengthens both your muscles and your bones.
☐ Watch your language. It's more personal, but it introduces a sense of discipline into your mind. The turns of phrase, the informal language, the way we speak, the choice of words, the syntax… Speaking is the perfect expression of the mind. This does not mean abolishing the use of crude words, but rather regaining control, becoming master of your language again. Your words should never exceed your thoughts. In my opinion, a rich language reflects the attention the speaker pays to it. When was the last time you learned a new word?
☐ Clean your space. The cleanliness of your living space has a big impact on your productivity. A messy space can lead to a messy mind. Home is, for many of us, the place we feel most comfortable: keeping your living space clean and organized naturally improves the quality of your life, your sleep and your health. Clean regularly, let the sun shine in and air out daily.
☐ Avoid ads. Easier said than done. But try not to have your mind parasitized by the multitude of advertisements we are flooded with. I don't watch television. I do have access to a music platform so I don't have to deal with the constant stream of ads on YouTube.
☐ Go for a walk. Pretending to discover your city or town anew can do wonders for a mind in need of a little distraction. Check out some of the free events that may be happening near you. Visit a park you've never been to before.
☐ Give yourself a reason to wait. Try to establish a ritual of patience. In other words… You stop binge watching every new show you start and you take your time to appreciate it.
☐ Stimulate your mind. The internet has given us more ways than ever to keep our minds busy. For those who know me a little, I am a big fan of reading. And if physical books can indeed be expensive, you can find some really good ones for free in .pdf format. In fact, some kind souls have even gone so far as to share entire drives of them on Tumblr... Going further in my reflection, I think that the scourge of our century is the intellectual lethargy: everything is at our fingertips, why bother reading a whole book when I have access to a detailed summary of only a few pages? Beyond the spiritual enrichment, it is also a proof of patience to seize a book and give it three hours of your time. I sincerely believe that as human beings, we owe it to ourselves to keep our senses and our minds alert. Reading is a great way to exercise our brain as it helps stimulate our cognitive abilities. It allows us to develop our capacity for memorization, reflection, analysis and imagination. Try coloring for adults (yes, it's a thing: ■ ■). There are also many games for adults online with the aim of stimulating memory and improving concentration (■, ■.). Try solving online puzzles, fake criminal investigations, math problems? Learn how to code (with Codecademy for example, which offers many courses for free). Take language courses. Many general knowledge quizzes are also available to anyone who is interested (■) . The web is a real goldmine in terms of resources and many are available for free.
☐ Finally, this list would be meaningless without me asking you to learn to relax. Give yourself a day off if you need to. It is essential to take it easy, to get your nose out of your planning, to look up from your screen and breathe in some fresh air through the window. I advise all those who try to relax to start a digital detox: we must learn to relax independently, without a screen and regain control over the objects of our stimulation.
My lists are intended to be personal. If you find them useful, that's great. Feel free to rewrite them! Don't hesitate to ask questions or send me your comments and ideas for next articles.

Becoming a Fit Girl: The Routine
Creating an exercise routine📅 doesn't have to be intimidating. It can actually be a fun, liberating experience! It's all about figuring out what works for you and making the most of your workouts.
To start, think about why you want to work out in the first place: Do you want to lose weight? Build muscle?🏋️♀️ Improve your endurance? All of the above? Once you have a goal in mind, it'll be easier to create an exercise plan that works for you.
To build muscle, you want to focus mainly on strength training. For endurance and losing weight, a mix of cardio activities🏃♀️ and strength training works a treat.
Next, pick out activities you enjoy doing. Becoming a Fit Girl doesn't have to involve just running or lifting weights. Have fun with it!
Go swimming, join a dance class💃, ride a bike, or try something totally new, like a free home workout on YouTube (here are some cool suggestions). Getting creative can keep your workouts fresh and help you stay motivated.
It's also important to be realistic about how much time you have. If you have a lot of commitments during the week, for example, it may not be feasible to workout for two hours Monday to Friday.
Make sure your plan works with your lifestyle, and don't be afraid to adjust it if your day-to-day changes.
Finally, remember to stay positive😊 and have patience with yourself — seeing results takes time! If you stick with it, though, you'll soon see all the amazing benefits of regular exercise.
Good luck!

How to Keep a Routine without Motivation.
There are Four Laws of Behavior Change in the book, Atomic Habits. But today, I will be focusing on the Third Law: "Make it Easy".
You need a cue to trigger the habit loop.
It means in order to stick to a habit, you have to lessen the friction. Just like an alarm clock.
Throughout my self-transformation journey, I have had my fair share of trial and error and I will be sharing the system I built that has worked for me to achieve my intentions of the day.
Notion Recurring Tasks
You have probably heard stories about 'Notion being the best productivity app'. Notion is indeed the second-brain system where you can do a lot of things. It is versatile and easy to use since it syncs on both desktops and phones. But I have not seen anyone who talked about this new feature that helped me accomplish all my tasks and gave me more free time to achieve my higher self.
This has been the best system I built that is extremely helpful to my leveling-up journey. I was able to accomplish a lot of tasks and have more free time to achieve my highest self.
GUIDE: HOW TO CREATE A RECURRING TO-DO LIST
First, pick a task that you know you will be doing weekly, monthly, or yearly.
For example, every month you want to create a Monthly Workout Planner:
On your page, type /gallery and click the Gallery view.
2. Click the drop-down arrow on the upper right side and click "New Template"
3. Type your recurring task
4. After that, click "Back" and Click the 3 dots to choose the frequency of the reminder.
5. Your task will appear automatically on the specific day you set.
Note: You should check your daily to-do task every day because the app doesn't have a feature yet to remind you of the recurring task
WHAT SHOULD I PUT ON MY RECURRING TASK?
I do tasks based on the planetary ruler of the day.
Astro girl coming in...
Have you ever wondered why a lot of people don't like going to work on Mondays? It is because Monday is ruled by the moon. The energy of the day is encouraging us to rest and take things slow.
Now, I'm not saying you shouldn't show up at work or sit on your couch for the whole day! It's about doing prioritized tasks intentionally and not putting too much on your plate. However, if you feel like doing a lot of things on Monday then do it and don't waste your energy!
I like doing Yoga, Meditation, and Journaling every Monday to honor the Moon so I put them on a recurring task.
Tuesday is ruled by Mars. It's good to keep things fired up by working out and accomplishing a lot tasks as possible
Saturday is ruled by Saturn so it is the best day to structure and plan for the next week, clean, and change beddings.
and so on...
This is a wonderful guide on how to organize your week based on the energy of the day.

a very personal evening checklist
ʀᴇᴍɪɴᴅᴇʀ → It takes an average of 66 days to create or change a habit. Don’t give up now!
☐ Take off your shoes when you get home. According to several studies, the sole of a shoe can carry hundreds of thousands of bacteria. In a biblical passage, God is said to have spoken to Moses in these words: “Take off your sandals, for the place where you are standing is holy ground.” Isn't that what the safety and comfort of a home means to us? A sanctuary for the soul? Taking off one's shoes is just the smallest sign of reverence. For this very reason, I try to keep my environment as clean as possible.
☐ Fulfill your commitments. Study, finish your work or respond to the last emails of the day. I don't get changed until I'm done. This is an important part as it allows me to ease my mind about the duties I know I am handling. It's hard for me to relax knowing I have a something to do.
☐ Disconnect, break away from screens as early as possible. Try to get away from the constant attention and energy demanded by our electronic gadgets. Blue light causes your brain to believe that it's still daytime, resulting in a reduction of the production of melatonin. In other words, your brain starts working to keep you awake. For those of you who are curious, I don't watch television, as I don't have one.
☐ If possible, be physically active. Walk for 20 minutes, do some yoga, use the exercise bike or go to the gym. Remember that cleaning is a double-duty activity. It's a great way to get you to move. Try to establish a physical routine: depending on your needs, try to stick to a program of one, two, three… or six sessions a week. If you really don't have time, focus on walking to get to and/or come back from work.
☐ Wash yourself. Again, everyone has a different approach to it, depending on their resources and organization. Science recommends taking a shower in the evening, because during the day we accumulate many bacteria, viruses and parasites that affect the regeneration of our skin. During the night, our skin has plenty of time to regenerate. (It is important to remember that taking two showers a day is not recommended: first, because it destabilizes your skin, which has not fully regenerated, second, because it is aggressive for sensitive skins and third, because it is not very nice to Mother Nature.)
☐ Get comfortable. Except for events or evenings when I'm not home alone, I prepare my dinner and enjoy it in my sleepwear.
☐ Prepare a light dinner. Avoid all forms of stimulants such as caffeine, sugar, energy drinks. Try to have an early dinner. I know this is cultural (coming from a family where dinner is served around 8 or 9pm), but a light, early dinner will help you sleep better, have better digestion, boost your metabolism and reduce your blood pressure.
☐ I also use this time to enjoy the presence of my loved ones or to think about calling them, or sending them a message… because they represent a real emotional support for me. Studies have shown that spending time with friends and family contributes greatly to happiness. Among other things, it reduces anxiety, increases productivity and improves mental health.
☐ If you have time, take care of yourself. Follow your skincare routine, even if it's as simple as applying a moisturizer and using deodorant, as it is for me. Remember to brush your teeth. Use slippers at home. Slippers are great for protecting your feet from the cold and keeping your blood flow from slowing down.
☐ Like with my morning routine, I exercise my mind, my faith and/or my creativity for a few minutes. I think it is as important to lighten your mind as it is to exercise it. Here again, I pray for a few minutes. I also write a few notes about my day in my journal. I have developed a sort of obsession with diaries from past centuries and the desire to record intimate details of our lives… and it is true that I harbor the hope that someday I will look back at my writings, much later in life, and find a sort of comforting nostalgy in them. Reading is also one of my favorite hobby. I often fall asleep while reading.
☐ Plan the next day as best you can. I know that some people find it very helpful to prepare their lunch, outfit and/or bag for the next day. This is the time to do what feels right for you. As for me, I just set my alarm clock (If possible, get an alarm clock that is not your phone.)
☐ Determine a time to go to bed and stick to it. If it takes a while to fall asleep (this obviously does not apply to people with sleep disorders...), I invite you to hang out in bed with a book or some relaxing music. I guess I'm pretty harsh, because when this happens, I prefer to condemn myself to boredom, in the dark and in silence. I think it works for me.
I'm so glad that my morning routine inspired many people. I just wanted to come back to something that I feel is very important: Life is made up of countless unexpected events. The world is not all black and white, but is composed of a multitude of shades. This means that none of your days will ever resemble the other. Be flexible and forgive yourself: lists are only there to help us organize this immense chaos that is life. Sometimes, self-care also means allowing the unplanned: a rest, or a change of plans. Again, this list is intended to be personal. Feel free to rewrite it!

Hi!
Sorry to bother you. I love your pics (and your handwriting is gorgeous!! I love those pens for writing too!) and I was wondering how you take notes (especially for your papers).. Cause I am tempted to just copy lines from the text and I'm not sure how else to do it so I end up not doing it (I know it's a difficult question to answer sorry)
also what is your process in general for writing papers? I'm always lost and so far because of that I haven't written any and just took a normal exam.
I hope you have a lovely time wherever you are <3
hi! thank you :))
my notes are a mix of marking what's important and my takeaways from the text. i also try not to make notes on the first reading: that's when i just read through and absorb what's happening. i only do things like highlight/mark passages the first time around. it's after i'm done reading that i write down either a summary, or a few takeaways and the lines or data or anything that supports the argument.
with papers, i tend to write on the go while i'm researching. so i have a word file or a paper that is just stubs of writing, tentative ideas, and a working outline that i put down right when i think of it. by the end of research i usually have a good headstart with words and then i just need to put them in the right order.
have a nice day!
